“Matthew and Lindsay were great sitters for our two dogs. They gave us plenty of photos of how our dogs were doing and we could see that our dogs settled right in and made themselves at home. It was so nice to not worry about them while we were away. We would definitely book with Matthew and Lindsay again!”

“I cannot say enough positive things about Alyssa! I give her 11/10 stars. She was so absolutely wonderful with my pup, kind and responsive and caring. This is the best Rover experience I've had thus far by miles. I will definitely be rebooking in the future 💜🐶”

“Melissa is great with dogs! I could tell my dog trusted her right away and was wagging her tail as I left. Melissa kept me up to date and was really helpful in modifying the stay when my schedule changed. You can tell Melissa cares about dogs and makes sure they are well cared for.”

“This was our first time ever having our dog sat, and as any nervous-dog owner knows, that comes with a lot of anxiety — for the pup and us! From the very start, they made him feel completely at ease. They were caring, thoughtful, and professional in every way. A special shoutout to Chloe, their daughter, who took amazing care of him — playing with him, helping him de-stress, and giving him the time he needed to warm up and feel comfortable. By the end, he was genuinely happy! We honestly can't say enough nice things. We'll only be using them from now on. Highly recommended!”

“It was a really great experience boarding my cat with Ashley. She sent pictures showing her playing with him and he looked very happy. Her house and yard are very peaceful and well-suited for dogs or cats. Her two cats were friendly. I'll definitely book with Ashley again if I need someone to watch my cat!”

“Dave is amazing! His calm and loving demeanor really helped our anxious Dorkie settle down right away. After our trip, Harley came back home a happy pup. It gave us such peace of mind to know that our little guy was being well loved and taken care of while we were away. We will definitely be using Dave to watch Harley in the future❤️”

“Angie did a wonderful job with our playful pup, Tillie. We received great updates daily and Tillie seemed right at home while we were away. Angie took her for some adventures and hikes and she also got lots of snuggles too. Angie provided a great vacation for Tillie while we were away, and we love that. Thanks, Angie!”

“Allison took care of our precious 5 month old puppy, Heidi. Allison was so kind are caring with Heidi! She sent pictures snd a message everyday reassuring us that Heidi was doing well. We do not travel often , but when we do, we will be requesting Allison to take care of Heidi! Thank you, Allison!!”

“Randy and Selina were absolutely amazing to my two dogs. One of my dogs is over 14 and blind and mostly deaf. She had a hard time the first night due to being in a new place, however they were so patient and kind while she adjusted and completely put my mind at ease while I was out of town. I would definitely recommend them!”

“Kimberly took wonderful care of our dogs while we were away. She was thoughtful, dependable, and kept us updated every day with photos and messages, which we really appreciated. They looked very comfortable and well cared for with her. We came home to two happy dogs, and we’d absolutely trust Kimberly to watch them again. Highly recommend!”

“Peggie was so great with our Charlie! Our daughter has a very hard time being separated from her, but Peggie did a great job at keeping in contact and making sure we knew Charlie was happy and healthy. It was a huge relief to have her in such good hands when we couldn't take her with us on our trip.”

“Our two old dogs came home happy and healthy. They required a lot of extra care including medications and Jessica was so sweet and accommodating about it. Would definitely trust her again.”

“Judith took great care of Kona. He was a happy boy when we picked him up. We really enjoyed seeing all the pictures Judith sent everybody of Kona. It helped take away the worries to know our baby boy was safe and in good hands. We would definitely book with Judith again.”

“Bea appeared to love her time with Mike and his family and Pavlov. They were very communicative. I got plenty of updates and our dog was calm and happy at pick up. So much better than a boarding facility, hands down!”

“Kattrina was a great host for our dog while we were out of town. She let us know that her dogs adjusted to their visitor, and she gave updates showing us his ample socialization during the stay. Would book again for sure!”

“My dog had a great time at Amanda's! I feel luck I found her when I needed someone over Thanksgiving. Our dogs did well together and she sent me updates and photos. She communicated well about drop off and pickup times. I hope to have her watch my dog again in the future.”

About: I have owned and cared for all types of dogs, big and small. I have also cared for dogs with various health issues (ear infections, eye issues, medication needs, etc). I work from home full-time in a quiet house with a fully fenced, secure backyard in the Blue Lake neighborhood. My golden retriever is no longer with me, so I miss a companion for my daily walks or when I’m working at home. I'm reliable, have a flexible schedule, and I’m available for mid-day potty breaks, neighborhood walks, and boarding. Your dog will hang out with me in my office or lounge on the couch while I work, and we’ll get plenty of fresh air in the yard throughout the day. I currently have no pets. I have a fully fenced backyard with plenty of space to play or watch them chase squirrels. I can easily crate your dog, if needed.

“It didn't work out because my dog was very shy and nervous, but Kendra and her husband were very understanding and patient about it. We also did a meet and greet which went well.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cascade Locks home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cascade Locks.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Cascade Locks sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
