“We were a little hesitant to leave our Izzy, with a boarder, but he just walked right up to Diana like he had known her forever. We will definitely without a shadow of a doubt have her care for him in the future. Thank you Diana.”

“HanLan took such good care of my cat while I was away. She sent regular updates showing all the fun adventures he got up to with her cat. They got on so well. It gave me piece of mind knowing she and Her husband took such good care of my cat while I was out of cell phone range. I would use her services again.”

“Emily & Eric were fantastic. They cared for our frenchie while on vacation and couldn’t ask for more. Updated us consistently and even handled a few accidents with ease. Great family and would highly recommend! Thank you!”

“Melissa gave us updates on Echo and sent photos/videos throughout his stay which put us at ease with any worries we had. He came home happy and healthy. We will definitely rebook with Melissa when we go out of town!”

“This was my first time leaving any pet with anyone other than a family member and admittedly I was a little nervous about how it would all go. Our 5 month old puppy Sophie had an absolute blast staying with Jennifer, her family, and her dogs. Jennifer even sent me a few videos of Sophie running and playing with their puppy and older dog. My worries were put to ease when we arrived for drop off and there was a decorated chalk board outside saying “Welcome Sophie”. That little personalized thoughtful touch nearly made me tear up. Sophie was well cared for, happy and absolutely tuckered out when we got her home. Thank you Jennifer and family!”

“Kristopher took excellent care of our dogs. He was also a great communicator, quick to respond and kept us updated with pictures during the stay. Would definitely recommend!”

“Anastasia is a highly skilled pet sitter who knew exactly what to do to help my shy foster get comfortable with her new surroundings. I appreciate how patient Anastasia was with Seagull and helped her to feel secure her first time away from me. The regular communication from Anastasia helped me relax and not worry about Seagull. I highly recommend Anastasia for pet sitting and will definitely return!”

“Paul and Arnel do a great job of caring for our pooch. They give her not just feeding, treats, and walks but clearly -- from great photos sent daily -- lots of affection and curled-up comfort. As repeat customers, it's a real comfort for *us* knowing we can leave her in such good hands.”

“Shasta was very responsive and kind. She took great care of our dog Leo and we are really glad she’ll be able to watch him again later this month. He came home very happy after staying with her for a few days.”

“Chom Chom loved staying with Emily while I was on vacation! She sent so many pictures and updates of Chom playing with Bowie, going on multiple walks a day, and looking so cozy and comfy. 10/10!”

“Noemi is awesome! She watched my super shy rat terrier buddy for two nights and was absolutely wonderful. She was so thoughtful with him, and it was clear she really cared about making him feel safe and comfortable. She kept me updated, was very reliable, and gave me so much peace of mind while we were away. I came home to a happy, well cared for pup and would absolutely trust her again. Highly recommend!”

About: I have two dogs ages 5 & 6, I trained both of them when they were puppies. Brewer and goose love other dogs but can also be kept separate if needed. I’ve taken care of family pets since I was young and enjoy playing with animals. I currently home full time with my two children. We pop out for go to classes in the evening but are usually home Monday -Friday. We live in 6 acres of partial fenced yard. Lots of room to play and throw ball. We do have an older cat that keeps to herself. Would prefer a dog that doesn’t want to chase cats.

“Staying with Peggie and Apache was an excellent arrangement for Chocolate. She got a lot of individual attention, lots of exercise and was very happy when I picked her up. I would definitely recommend. Great environment.”
“I’m always amazed at how relaxed Elaine is with dogs and kids and family, each with their separate needs. She went above and beyond to get the right medication for my dogs itchies.”

“Jeffrey was great! My regular sitter cancelled last minute, and Jeffrey was available and super responsive. They were great at sending informative updates and it was very clear Toast was treated just like a member of their family! He was taken on special outings with Jeffrey and his wife and was very spoiled. Would definitely book with Jeffrey again!”

“Pam (and Frank) Five Stars!! She has been absolutely Amazing to our easily stressed and anxious furry! Pam is attentive and caring to her needs! It is clear our furry loves spending time in her home, as she is always excited to visit after multiple overnights! Thank you both, we really appreciate you!”

Rebecca was amazing! Prompt communication, lots of picture updates and check-in’s, and the pups are happy and content on the way home. She was kind & gracious when I had a car issue on pickup. Best sitter experience I’ve ever had in 10 years with Rover. Thanks Rebecca!

Ashley was fantastic watching Steve. She was always quick to respond, sent the cutest updates, and made it really easy to relax knowing he was in good hands. I have complete trust in her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Warrendale home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Warrendale.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Warrendale sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
