“Quickly became the best sitter I've ever had. Pictures showed Lynx so happy and taken care of. For as long as I live in this area, Rebecca will be Lynx's sitter!”

“We were a little hesitant to leave our Izzy, with a boarder, but he just walked right up to Diana like he had known her forever. We will definitely without a shadow of a doubt have her care for him in the future. Thank you Diana.”

“Hanlan was absolutely wonderful!! This was my first time needing a sitter, and I couldn’t have been happier. My two babies had such a fun time. Hanlan was extremely flexible, and was great at communicating. Definitely will be using her again when the next time comes.”

“Cassandra and Trevor were absolutely amazing with my daughter’s dog, Leo, while she was hospitalized. He required a great deal of personal care because he does not have the use of his back legs and is missing one eye due to previous abuse. Cassandra and Trevor sent daily photos, videos, and updates, and spent a great deal of time hand-feeding him and carrying him to where he needed to go. When we picked him up, Leo was one. alert, clean, and happy little dog. Thank you so much, Cassandra and Trevor!”

“I observed a loving caring exchange with my Sophie who seemed very comfortable with Yuting. She provided wonderful periodic photos which were much appreciated and great feedback on my pets care.”

“Our family is so grateful to Megan for taking such good care of Lumi! We had peace of mind knowing that she was well taken care off while we were on a trip. Megan shared many videos and photos. She also took Lumi to the dog park! We highly recommend Megan.”

“Laura took such great care of Stella! She took her on a hike and several trips down to the river to run around. Stella came home nice and tired after her adventurous stay. Will definitely book again.”

About: I have two dogs ages 5 & 6, I trained both of them when they were puppies. Brewer and goose love other dogs but can also be kept separate if needed. I’ve taken care of family pets since I was young and enjoy playing with animals. I currently home full time with my two children. We pop out for go to classes in the evening but are usually home Monday -Friday. We live in 6 acres of partial fenced yard. Lots of room to play and throw ball. We do have an older cat that keeps to herself. Would prefer a dog that doesn’t want to chase cats.
“Our dog Wally is a bit of a nervous guy but he did great staying with James. We received photos and messages letting us know that he was acclimating well. Would definitely have him watch Wally again!”

“Staying with Peggie and Apache was an excellent arrangement for Chocolate. She got a lot of individual attention, lots of exercise and was very happy when I picked her up. I would definitely recommend. Great environment.”
“Kimberly was wonderful to work with! She made my dogs feel super comfortable right away. This is really impressive because one of my dogs is very shy and usually takes months to open up, but he started asking her for pets on the second day of his stay. She was very sensitive to both dogs’ needs and kept me updated on how they were eating, playing, sleeping, etc. I very highly recommend working with Kimberly!”

“Our two old dogs came home happy and healthy. They required a lot of extra care including medications and Jessica was so sweet and accommodating about it. Would definitely trust her again.”

“I can’t recommend Lisa enough! She took such wonderful care of my dog for an entire week, and when my trip ended up being extended through the weekend, she was incredibly kind and flexible about continuing to care for my pup. It gave me such peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands while I was away. Lisa was reliable, communicative, caring, and clearly treated my dog like her own. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup.”

About: I am a dog owner, have volunteered at a dog shelter, fostered dogs, and trained my own puppy. I also have experience caring for elderly dogs. I am free on the weekends and early week to watch pets at my home. There is usually always an adult present at my home, since there are two of us and one works from home. We are a pet-friendly and kid-friendly household and will love on your fur baby! I have a fully fenced yard, and my own pets are fully vaccinated and spayed. We welcome your doggo into our bedroom at night for cuddles while you're away!
“My dog had a wonderful first stay with Lisa! Lisa was so kind & communicative, sending great photos and updates each day. I could tell Lisa cared for my dog as if she were hers — lots of love and attention to detail. My dog stayed with Lisa over Christmas & Lisa even made a stocking with my dog’s name on it & gave her a couple toys. Lisa’s care and thoughtfulness goes above & beyond. Highly recommend!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Fort Rains home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Fort Rains.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Fort Rains sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
