“This is our dog’s 3rd visit with Dew and she is wonderful! So attentive to her quirks and so patient with her plus we get fun photos the whole time! We will be back for sure! Thanks so much Dew for taking such loving care of our girl! 💕”

“Nothing more to say but “Amazing!!!” Erika is so communicative and she sends updates via photos! Love her and my dog, Tofu, also loved staying with her and Nugget! Thank you so much, Erika!”

“Athena, watched my two pups for 5 days! She was great, she came to pick up and drop the pups. She sent me daily photos and updates of them! Very friendly and my pups spent a great time with her! I highly recommend!”

“Sue was great. Really patient and accommodating. My pup was returned to me happy and healthy. Her husband was also very nice and they both seemed very confident and comfortable with my pup who’s a 48lb pittie. Thank you Sue and Franky. We appreciated your care and attention to our fur baby. Sue also sent regular selfies of the pup and was quick to reply to messages.”

“Once again Nicole took good care of Lulu while we were away, Lulu is always looking forward to stay with Nicole and her three dogs, it’s her vacation too away from home. She plays a lot and had a great time. Thanks again Nicole!”

“Rosemarie and her family are the best!!! My dogs Judy and Elroy loved staying with them. They didn't miss us at all! it's so nice to have a place for my dogs to stay where they are able to do the things they normally do ie: lay on the couch, roll around on the grass, meet other dogs (which they don't get to do very often), get treats and much love. They aren't stuck in a cage laying on a cold concrete floor, like other places. Rosemarie genuinely loves and cares for the dogs that she watches. She makes the owners feel very at ease by sending text messages and photos everyday about how they're doing. I will definitely use Rosemarie again. Thank you, Rosemarie!! xxx”

“Saori was such a great sitter for our pups (1 year old great pyrenees). She took them to the dog park in the morning for a couple of hours, helped continue our invisibile fence training, and sent us so many pics and updates throughout the weekend. I could tell how happy and comfortable our dogs were in her home and under her care. They came home so tired because they had so much fun with her and the other dogs!”

“First time using Rover for boarding overnight our two doggies. I honestly feel like we hit the lottery not the billion but certainly enough to keep us feeling secure and comfortable and relaxed when we went away over the weekend because when we got back our dogs were thrilled to see us but no rush to leave Rich’s house. Most definitely will be using rich going forward whenever we need to take care or boarding and he’s available”

“We are truly grateful to Lily for the loving care she gave to our little dog, Kodi. During Kodi's stay with Lily, she sent us daily pictures & videos of our pet. Clearly, he had a fantastic time with Lily & her lovely family. We really appreciated the thoughtfulness of her daily communications with us & all the care she gave to our little pet. Lily's an outstanding care taker.”

“I had a last minute request and Jomini responded almost immediately and saved the day. She asked questions to make sure my dog had the proper precautions to be outdoors at her place and checked with me about any specific schedule before drop off. She was super responsive and flexible with timing for drop off / pick up. She sent so many pictures of my dog and I could see he was having a great time!”

“Ryan EXCEEDED my expectations! He has an intuitive way with dogs. He is very knowledgable about dogs & dog behavior. Ryan is the real deal-- a true animal lover & kind, decent human being. He communicated well with pics and updates during my dog's visit. During our initial meeting I felt an instant rapport he had with my dog that put me at ease. His home is VERY dog-centric! The visiting dogs are not confined and are free to mingle and find their own place to relax. There are ample dog beds, couches, human beds and floor space for lounging and sleeping. I especially appreciate that Ryan limits the number of dogs he boards at one time to a very small group, & makes sure they vibe well together beforehand. The living space Ryan and his boarders occupy is all on one level, which is great for my dog with arthritis. There is a wooded trail for walks adjoining the yard, and a guest bedroom if a dog needs some quiet alone time. I would HIGHLY recommend Ryan and I plan to use him again!”

“Kyle is great! He boarded and cared for our dog for the weekend. It was a sort of a last minute booking, but Kyle was readily available. Great location and plenty of space for our energetic dog. Kyle was very helpful in easing our minds since it was our very first time leaving our dog with anyone. Which was confirmed when our dog gave such an affectionate goodbye to Kyle upon pick up. We will definitely be using Kyle again.”

“Natasha and Hamir were wonderful sitters for Lino. They took the time and care to listen to our requests and instructions, and updated us daily on how he was doing, including photos. We could tell he was being cared for and he was really happy. Lino can be human-selective and indifferent to other dogs, and Natasha and Hamir respected that and live in an area where there is a lot of space from both possible triggers. We wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to them again for boarding!”

“Marie was so wonderful to Madison (!!!!). Although I was far away, they kept me updated with pictures and texts along the way. I appreciate all that Marie does and couldn't ask for a better sitter.”

“Lucy was wonderful! My dog is special needs. Her blindness and anxiety made me reluctant to leave her anywhere, but Lucy made both of us feel comfortable. She kept in touch throughout the week and sent plenty of pictures. I am so grateful that my baby was safe and so well cared for!”

“Katherine took excellent care of our 8 yr old lab mix. She sent multiple texts & photos. Our dog can be a little nervous but was so at ease with Katherine. I highly recommend her!”

“My very active little dog stayed 8 days with Tinaclem. Smush was so happy, well taken care of, and runs to her when he sees her. It is a huge relief to know I've found a petsitter who loves dogs as much as I do, and as much as my dog loves her.”

“Jeff and Bruce were great about staying in touch with me about my dog and sent pictures as well. They have ample indoor and outdoor space. This was my first time using Rover.com and I am very happy to have found such caring and responsible people to watch my dog.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Carmel
Erika is absolutely amazing with our dog, Gotham! She is incredibly responsive, reliable, and truly caring. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing Gotham is in such loving and attentive hands. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs she watches, and it shows in everything she does. We feel so lucky to have found her and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog sitter!

Our elderly black lab Sadie received very good care while staying at Marie’s home. Marie sent me several photos of Sadie enjoying herself in her large, fenced in back yard. I can tell Marie is a very kind person who loves animals, as is her husband. I would definitely feel comfortable leaving Sadie in her care again.
Our dogs had the best time! The fenced in yard is secure and gave them a great area to run around and play in. Jen sent a lot of pictures and updates and made us feel really comfortable while our dogs stayed with them. Looking forward to having them watch our dogs again!!

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.
96% of Carmel sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Carmel landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.
If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Carmel home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Carmel.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Carmel sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
