“Erika was the best. I am so happy I found her. i have been looking for a new dog sitter close to where I live to make it easier. Max seemed to fit right in and did well. He looked happy and content. There were a few other dogs there, but they seem to all have gotten along quite well. Very pleased and highly recommend her. I will be using Erika again in the near future.”

“Dew is the most kind, und loves my dog like he belongs to her. I am so relieved he is with her as I am in bed with a broken ankle. I know he is so well loved and taken care of.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Even with all the rain that week, Jomini and her family took wonderful care of our Bella, and made sure she was happy and well cared for. She also sent us pictures throughout the week, which meant so much because we missed Bella so much. We had complete peace of mind knowing Bella was in such caring hands. Thank you for taking such great care of our girl!”

“I was caught in a bind as I was moving and my current place had to cancel due to the weather. This is my first time using Rover and I needed to find someone to watch my pup. River is a bit reserved and can be very nervous. Pam is a life saver. She sent pictures throughout her visit and I was completely at ease during a very stressful move. I will definitely recommend Pam and will reach out to her again whenever I need a sitter for my girl. Thanks a million. You are the best!!!”

“We are thankful for Lucienne and her calm, loving care. My dog came back happy after an 8 day visit and it's so nice to have assurance that your pet is in good hands. Lucienne is patient, understanding of needs, and we are thankful to have found her.”

“I could not be more pleased with the care that my italian greyhound, Zeus, received when in Annette's care for the first time over this weekend. Zeus warmed up to her immediately, which is unusual for him. I received multiple photos during his stay and he appeared very content and happy. What a feeling of comfort knowing he was with someone who provided the same level of care that I do, or very possibly better. A magnificent experience!”

“Nicole is absolutely the best! Not only is she warm, welcoming, and very accommodating, her veterinary experience and obvious love of dogs assures us that Bluebelle is in the very best hands. Her daily updates and pictures keep us posted on the great time Blue is having with Nicole and her family in their very dog-friendly home and backyard. The best endorsement of all, though, is Blue's excitement and crazy tail-wagging when we mention Nicole's name! Five stars doesn't begin to say enough!!”

“Ryan EXCEEDED my expectations! He has an intuitive way with dogs. He is very knowledgable about dogs & dog behavior. Ryan is the real deal-- a true animal lover & kind, decent human being. He communicated well with pics and updates during my dog's visit. During our initial meeting I felt an instant rapport he had with my dog that put me at ease. His home is VERY dog-centric! The visiting dogs are not confined and are free to mingle and find their own place to relax. There are ample dog beds, couches, human beds and floor space for lounging and sleeping. I especially appreciate that Ryan limits the number of dogs he boards at one time to a very small group, & makes sure they vibe well together beforehand. The living space Ryan and his boarders occupy is all on one level, which is great for my dog with arthritis. There is a wooded trail for walks adjoining the yard, and a guest bedroom if a dog needs some quiet alone time. I would HIGHLY recommend Ryan and I plan to use him again!”

“Rich was great with both our boys! Our plans had to change last minute and Rich was more than willing to accommodate us. The boys had the time of their lives and we felt very comfortable with them being with Rich. We would recommend Rich to anyone.”

“Lily always does an excellent job watching my dog Tito! She always sends pictures and videos of him hanging out peacefully with the other little doggos that she takes care of.”

“We dropped off our Brittany Spaniel for a one night stay last minute, Rosemarie and her family were very accommodating and excellent sitters. Our dog doesn’t have a backyard so he was super excited to be able to run in their large fenced yard. We would absolutely use her again for boarding if back in the area.”

“Sue was absolutely wonderful with Ollie! She was kind, attentive, and took great care of him throughout his stay. Communication was effortless, as she was always prompt with her replies and kept us reassured with regular updates. We also really appreciated how flexible she was with her schedule, easily accommodating our drop off and pick up times. Ollie had a fantastic time with her, and we could not have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend Sue to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!”

“Kyle took great care of our dog. He was responsive and followed all directions we gave him about our slightly quirky pooch. We've already booked our next board with him! Thank you Kyle!!”

“Cherissa and her family were wonderful. I felt so comfortable leaving my pup with them. Cherissa sent me constant updates and pictures. Would highly recommend her and would definitely use her family again.”

“Another great stay with Jeff!!! Our pup had a fabulous time and we enjoyed ourselves knowing how well cared for and happy she was! We will continue to recommend Jeff to our friends and will be using him again in the fall for an overnight!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Carmel
Our elderly black lab Sadie received very good care while staying at Marie’s home. Marie sent me several photos of Sadie enjoying herself in her large, fenced in back yard. I can tell Marie is a very kind person who loves animals, as is her husband. I would definitely feel comfortable leaving Sadie in her care again.
Our dogs had the best time! The fenced in yard is secure and gave them a great area to run around and play in. Jen sent a lot of pictures and updates and made us feel really comfortable while our dogs stayed with them. Looking forward to having them watch our dogs again!!

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
