If I could give 0 starts a would. Please be WARNED. This lady does not care about animals. We paid her to watch our 2 dogs and cat and stay in our home while we traveled out of the country to watch our animals. Suddenly our neighbor was seen on the ring camera letting the dogs out so we asked him what was going on. Apparently he noticed we weren’t home and nobody was taking care of the dogs so he let them out. He also said they were having accidents inside our home when he checked. He only noticed because she knocked on his door early in the morning to ask him to help fix her car. Thank God he noticed! We looked back on our ring camera to see she had been leaving the house every day for a week straight and leaving our dogs unattended between 10-15 hours per day. We had agreed she would let them out every 3-4 hours and stay in our home the entire time to keep them company so they felt safe and didn’t cause damage. We also noticed she was not kind or friendly to our dogs and was seen yelling at them and they clearly were scared of her and didn’t want to come back inside. She disregarded our request to walk one of the dogs on a leash in fear they would run away. When we confronted her she ABANDONED the dogs and the home and simply cancelled the booking and left them alone inside our home for 2 days with no food, potty breaks, and barely any water was left when we returned. Our cat had no food for who knows how long. Our house, carpets, furniture, and belongings were DESTROYED and nothing was cleaned up. Even the room she stayed in was left a mess before she left. She severely NEGLECTED our animals and they could have DIED had we not found someone else to come stop by the home to feed them twice a day until we returned. They seemed scared and traumatized upon our return and chewed up sharp pieces of plastic while left ALONE so we have to monitor them to make sure they are okay. This is the opposite of why we chose to go through Rover instead of boarding them in a kennel to help them feel more safe and comfortable. This was a neighmare of an experience and I will never take this risk again hiring a stranger to watch my home. Do NOT be fooled by her good reviews like we were. Those poor animals and their owners probably got the same treatment but she didn’t get caught. Stay FAR away from this person and be very careful when finding a trusted person to watch your pets through this app. She passed Rovers background check and appeared safe but she was NOT safe for our animals or our home. We will be exploring legal action to compensate us for all the damages to our home and neglect of our animals.

Athena was kind and patient with Pebbles!

Athena was excellent! We boarded our senior lab mix, Sherman, with her and were very happy with how responsive and communicative she was. Sherman seemed to really enjoy his stay and we look forward to using Athena again.
