“We have a cat that needs pills at very specific times and really appreciated that Hallie was always on time and communicated about how the pill went! That level of responsibility and communication helped put me at ease leaving him and let me enjoy my trip for once!”

I am incredibly reliable and will treat your space as if it’s my own. I work a fully remote job. I am incredibly flexible and able to care to all your pets needs. Welcome all jobs short or long. I like to keep your furry friend on there set schedule and routines. Everyone operates differently like to meet with the family and see what is best for your animal while you’re away. Love sending lots of updates and pictures throughout the process.

I will have an immediate, positive impact on your loved ones life, and want to be of service to our sacred pet community! I'm a recent Law graduate, looking for the next chapter of my adventure; and in the meantime I'd be honored to spend time taking the best care of your pet(s)! “Lisa was amazing with my 14 year old cat, Wilby. She was attentive, punctual, and kept in regular contact with me the entire week she was caring for him. She stayed a bit longer with my Wilby to give extra love and attention. When we returned home, everything related to Wilby's care was left neatly organized and clean. Lisa is a star!”

“Our beloved fur-boy is Garrett, a 4-year-old Siberian Husky who loves Richie! Just recently, we went away for a 5-day trip and had to leave Garrett at home. Luckily, we met Richie and hired him to do drop-in visits, 3 times a day, for the entire time we were away. Richie made sure that Garrett was taken out for his potty breaks, took him for walks and provided the kind of service and care that he needed. Richie delivered beyond my expectations. He is very reliable, dependable and communicated really well, providing us with updates and feedbacks. From now onwards, he is my to-go-to person whenever we need a back up care for Garrett!”

“Chloe is AMAZING! She has gone above and beyond to make sure my cat, Wilbur, was taken care of even when our town was hit with a massive blizzard and over a foot of snow! Our family was stuck in TN, and Chloe was kind enough to extend her availability and continue to care for Wilbur until we were able to get home. Additionally, she didn't allow over a foot of snow to prevent her from getting to Wilbur. She shoveled her way to him up our LONG driveway. Chloe is beyond amazing, and we will be forever grateful to her.”

About: If you’re looking for someone to just drop a bowl of kibble and scroll on their phone, I’m probably not your person. But if you want someone who will treat your pet like a misunderstood genius or a retired diplomat, we’re going to get along great! I work for the MTA as a train operator in the city, but on my days off I love taking my corgi Zuko on long walks and playing in our yard. I've had dogs and cats since I was young, and have a special affinity for all animals. If you want your fur baby treated like the king or queen they know they are while you're away, look no further! I am currently off Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays so I will have the full 24 hours of those days to walk, play, entertain, and care for your pets. I have a large unfenced yard on a very quiet street off the main road. I also have a extremely friendly and energetic corgi named Zuko who will assuredly be your pets new best friend. There will be tons of playing, running, fetch and more to ensure your pet has the best experience staying at their home away from home.

About: I have cared for rabbits, cats, and dogs over the course of my life. I grew up with a rescued kitten who lived a healthy, active life for 15 years before he developed feline diabetes. For two years, we gave him daily injections to maintain his health as best we could. When I began life outside of my childhood home, I adopted a lion head rabbit that lived long enough to become my children’s first pet. While I was living in Queens, New York, I spent a year dog walking and pet sitting around Astoria and Long Island City. My responsibilities included individual and group dog walks, in-home care for elderly and special needs dogs and cats, cat care, litter box/wee wee pad changing, and feeding. I am currently a stay at home mom and freelance writer, so my schedule is very flexible between the hours of 8am and 3pm while my children are at school. As a cat mom, I understand how important safety is when it comes to animal care. From the moment I walk into the house, keeping your pet safe is my priority. During my time with your pet, I will do my due diligence to make sure your pet is safe and happy from harnessing and leashing, through the walk, and finally my departure. I know the importance of staying alert on walks, constantly taking in the environment for any potential dangers from other animals, people, and vehicles.
“I cannot say enough good things about Claire. From day one Claire has been amazing and has taken wonderful care of our fur baby Lacey. Lacey is an 11 month old black lab mix full of energy and chaos. Claire always goes out of her way to play with Lacey and keep her busy and entertained. Claire, confirmed with us first and asked if she could bring over her lab to play with Lacey. Lacey and Rio (Claire’s dog) quickly became best friends. I know Lacey is in good hands and I feel comfortable when Claire is watching her. I highly recommend Claire and we have hired her multiple times.”

“Abigail was great with Bentley with our meet and greet. Today was the first drop in visit. Abigail let me know she was there, what they were doing, and when she was leaving. She also sent a few pictures of Bentley. It looks like Bentley had a great visit. Thank you Abigail.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Carmel. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
