“Kassandra did an awesome job taking care of my cat Nala while I was away camping for 4 days! They were super responsive, communicative, and provided great updates. Nala seemed happy with their company, and I could tell Nala was well taken care of. They went above and beyond to ensure Nala's comfort and happiness. I feel lucky to have found them on Rover and I'll work with Kassandra again in the future. 10/10 - Would recommend!”

About: I have taken care of all kinds of animals, from cats and dogs to livestock, fish and birds. I would be happy to help you care for yours properly while your are away from home. I have a flexible schedule and can be available as needed. Please send me a message about your needs and let’s work out something that suits your animals needs I have a fenced yard and animals at my home, that are well taken care of. I am also happy to care for yours properly while animals in your home.

About: I volunteered at Haven Humane Society in Redding for three years, where I gained a lot of experience caring for both cats and dogs. While I was there, I helped clean and sanitize their areas, walked dogs, and spent time socializing with the cats. In my personal life, I have a kitty who is my pride and joy! He does well with other animals and has definitely made my love for animals even stronger. I also had a dog who recently passed away. I had her since she was a puppy and helped train and care for her throughout her life, so I’m very familiar with the puppy world and all the patience and attention that comes with it! I’ve always loved animals and know how important it is to have someone you trust taking care of your pets. I would treat every pet I care for like they were my own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m currently a student at Butte College, so my schedule gives me plenty of time to care for and spend time with your furry friends! I usually have classes in the mornings, so most afternoons and evenings are free. This gives me lots of time for walks, playtime, feeding, check-ins, and making sure your pets get plenty of attention throughout the day. My schedule is pretty flexible, and I’m happy to work with you and your pet’s normal routine! I know how important it is to trust the person taking care of your pets, so I’ll always do my best to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re with me. For boarding, I’ll make sure your pet has a comfortable and safe space in my home, along with plenty of attention, playtime, and potty breaks. I do have a cat of my own who does well with other animals, so I will always make sure everyone is introduced safely and is comfortable around each other. For dog walking, I’ll make sure your dog is secure on their leash and follow any instructions you have for their walks. When caring for pets in your home, I’ll respect your space, follow your pet’s normal routine, and make sure everything is clean and secure before I leave. I’m also more than happy to send pictures and updates while your pet is with me because I know how nice it is to know your furry friend is safe and being taken care of!
About: I've been raised with animals my whole life. At this point I care for a dog, 2 cats, some fish and a lizard in my household, so I am versed in how to take care of a variety of animals. I can care for any age, young or old. I will do my best to ease any stress with leaving your pet at home. We will have an incredible time with playing all day. I will give baths if needed, and take them out to use the restroom when they need to. I have no professional experience, but I will still provide the best care I can. They will get all the attention they want. I hope this will provide enough experience for a career in helping animals.

About: I’ve grown up with plenty of animals. Between Golden Retrievers to pugs and chihuahuas, I’ve been around plenty of canines. I also have had several cats in my life. I’m currently attending community college without a job and as such am free most days of the week except Monday and Wednesday when I am stuck on campus all day. My yard is fenced however because I live at home with my parents currently, I will be unable to bring home any furry friends unless it’s an absolute emergency.
About: I’ve been pet sitting for friends for three years. Pets feel safe around me, and I enjoy caring for them, playing, and keeping them happy. As a part-time lecturer, I have a flexible schedule and am looking to make meaningful use of my remaining time by offering reliable and attentive pet care. I’m available every day and can easily adjust to your specific needs and schedule. I prefer walking dogs on a leash and keeping them close to me for safety. I don’t allow them outside without supervision and maintain consistent routines to help them feel secure.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 12 years old. I have experience with dogs who have special needs, specifically, neurological disorders requiring medication administration. I’ve spent the last two years training my dog, Bubba, through separation anxiety and reactive aggression. He went from chasing cats to occasionally taking naps with them. My first dog, Lilly, was reactive to dogs and when I brought home Bubba as a puppy, my family called him “snack” because they didn’t think it was possible, but she immediately took him in and they were inseparable for 7 years! I’ve always been gifted at reading animals - humans, not so much. I will always advocate for those who can’t advocate for themselves :) I’m available every day, whenever you need! I recently quit my job and needed a fun way to get a little extra cash before moving to the PNW! Unfortunately, my dog is an anti-social introvert and doesn’t like visitors. His house, his rules… However, I’m more than happy to care for your pet inside of your home!
About: I’ve grown up my whole life loving my pets. I grew up on a mini farm so I love all animals as big as a horse and as small as a bunny. My current baby is a disabled cat who i love with my whole heart. My heart is big enough for my pets and yours!! I am a nursing student so my schedule revolves around school. Luckily that gives me plenty of free time to care for your pets! I am available most evenings and all weekends. I can provide whatever service you would like for your dog. Any time you want me to take them out, leashed, crated, play times, etc

About: I have experience caring for dogs and cats for friends and family, including feeding, walking, playtime, cleaning up, and sticking to their normal routines. I understand how important consistency is for pets, and I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. As a college student, I have a consistent weekly schedule that allows me to dedicate reliable time to pet care. I plan my classes and study hours carefully, which makes it easy for me to provide structured walks, feeding times, and quality attention. I’m responsible and understand the importance of being dependable. In a client’s home, I respect their space and maintain their pet’s normal routine to reduce stress. My priority is making sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for at all times.
About: I have grown up with Dogs and cats as a child. Also had bunny’s, reptiles, and gerbils for that matter! LOL! I’ve had the same Beautiful Most Awesome cat named Gizmo for 15 years until October of last year when cancer took him from me! I’m deeply saddened still. And please believe me when I say. “It was the hardest thing I ever had to do or went thru”. He was my best bud and I loved saying hello when I got home but when he was gone it has been my hardest goodbye! I have dog/New baby puppy sit for a good family friend. And learned anlot anbout new puppies and the special care they need! And I love every minuet of it! I also clean and make sure the home is presentable and reasonably ready for their mom and/or Dad to get home so they do not have to worry about cleaning their mess. Or her own. If client is comfortable with that. Then I would do anything that was asked of me! I’m very punctual and respectful and take into account what the client needs not what I think they need. It’s your family member. It’s your house, all you got to do is talk to me and let me know what you need and I will do my best at providing that service. I also have 1 dog named Bella and 2 cats named Abel and Mozart in our family. Update: Bella past from cancer a few weeks ago, and Mozart passed 2 weeks ago due to kidney disease ! We have suffered so much loss in the past 8 months. We now have Abel and Delilah. Delilah is a 6 month old kitten and Abel is a 1 yr old cat! Lots of fun! Please check my pets profile to see pics of them. And let me tell you. This is their house. We just live in it! LOL. Abel is new. I adopted him shortly after some grieving time over Gizmo. And he is just like gizmo. Big personality and very much a pain in my rear. But he’s our child. And he’s so beautiful! Thank you so much for your time in reading this. And don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. I am a partially disabled person. I have a disease that affects my hips and lower spine, and then a disease that we believe. I contracted through my father‘s service in Vietnam, but don’t worry nothing that’s contagious. LOL. Nothing that is Gunna take me out anytime soon but getting out of the house to go take care of fur babies is the best thing for me. It gives me exercise. It gives me purpose and it gives me the ability to give the love that I have to give away to other members of peoples families. I’m truly honest and respectful, and need more purpose in my life to help other’s, my hips and my Parkinson’s disease will not slow me down. I’m young still at 41 and I will continue to do anything and everything I can to help anyone in everyone that I can. I would like to continue helping by doing this service for you and your family.. And NOTHING WILL keep me from doing anything and everything needed in any case of taking care of your home or your furbaby. unfortunately, I can only take care of people’s homes & their fur babies in their own home, because of my furbabies. Thank you for understanding. I will keep your home in pristine condition. Cat boxes will be cleaned 2 to 3 times a day unless instructed otherwise. I’m very particular about that so your fur babies and your home will be treated with respect and love and cared for by me, which means I will put my all into anything that you need taken care of.
About: I’ve grown up with many cats and different types of dog's. I had a dog that was 19 years old and have been self training my current dog since I got him. Im currently a student at Chico State so I have plenty of time after classes and school. I have plenty of time to walk and play with your pets after 2pm on most weekdays. I make sure there’s no way to escape or places that can hurt your pet if it gets in those places. I would make sure to be attentive and make sure I know what they’re up to.
“Deanna did a great job taking care of our pets and house while we were away. The cats enjoyed her company. She took care of all of their needs. She even noticed that I had left my car window down in the rain and closed it up for me. I am grateful for her care.”

About: I love animals and their unique and wonderful personalities! Having 4 dogs and 2 cats of my own I am not available for overnight care, however I do know the value of attention and routine for an animal, especially when their owner is away. So, even though I am only available for drop in visits right now, I will do more than just feed your pet and leave. I’ll make sure to spend some quality time and make sure your pet feels seen with each and every feeding :) I have a pretty flexible schedule and I’m up early in the mornings, so fitting in pet drop-in visits would work easily for me :) As I said earlier…with 6 animals of my own I am unable to offer overnight care, but I know the importance of spending some quality time with animals, so even though I can only offer drop-in visits…each visit would be filled with love and attention to make sure your animal feels well cared for :)
About: I have worked with all types of animals, breeds and personality types. I’ve done dog walking/pet sitting for about 6 years and absolutely adore it! I am comfortable with any special needs or unique temperaments. (Most of my experience has been off this app, hence my lack of reviews… I am more than happy to provide references individually!) I’m currently available anytime during the day or night, weekdays and weekends. I can do overnights as well. As long as we plan ahead all should be good! I have a lot of time to stay with the pets in their own home so they will have lots of stimulation and attention! I love taking them anywhere they love, walking around the neighborhood, trips to dog beach, or supervising play dates with their furry friends!
About: Hi! My name is Erika and I’ve always been an animal lover. I have 12 years of experience working as a dog groomer, so I’m very comfortable caring for dogs of all different breeds, sizes and personalities. I’m patient, easygoing and understand that every dog has their own routine and comfort level. I’m happy to provide lots of love and attention, overnight care, walks, playtime and basic grooming while your pet is with me. I’ll treat your pets like they’re part of the family and make sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away! Upon request at additional charge I also offer grooming. I have a pretty flexible schedule and spend a lot of time at home, so pets in my care get plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m available for walks, potty breaks, playtime, feeding, and lots of company. I’m also comfortable following your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I always prioritize safety and comfort when caring for pets in their own home. I’m very attentive to each pet’s personality and needs, and I make sure to follow your routines, feeding instructions, and any special care directions exactly as provided. My goal is to help your pet feel secure and relaxed while you’re away, keeping their environment consistent and stress-free.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
