“Jaron was really great to work with. He was very punctual and gave nice updates and pictures of Misty and Pharon while we were away. They seemed really happy and well cared for when we came home.”

“Sarah was wonderful & we couldn't recommend her more! We have a 5 mo. old puppy, so we were a little nervous at first as this is our first time using Rover, but we felt SO comfortable and relaxed once we met Sarah. She was great at communicating with us & we loved all of the pictures she sent. We will definitely be requesting her again! :) thanks, Sarah!!”

“We were so happy with the care, love and attention Allyson gave our Artie. She was our first non-family sitter, and it couldn't have gone any better. We really appreciated her updates and pictures. The pics showed a very happy Artie, enjoying walks, frisbee and other play time. Outstanding care and communication!”

“Kevin has been helping us with my aunt's cat who needs daily medication. He is professional, friendly, quick to respond, and most importantly, Cleo is getting her pills. He also sends us a photo of her after each visit which we find funny (she doesn't look too happy after being pilled but she does have a lot of attitude!) and also comforting to know she is being taken care of by someone who knows what he is doing and enjoys it.”
“Kelley was awesome! She showed up on time everyday, she left detailed notes about the dogs and their activities during her visit and the dogs loved her! Definitely will be contacting her in the future!”

“She did a very great job taking care of my babies. She actually made another visit in between times so they wasn't inside to long. Highly recommend her. I'd definitely have her do it again if she is available. Great job”

About: I helped take care of my family’s two senior cats. I assisted in giving them medications, cleaning their ears, and grooming their matted fur. I have cat and dog sat for friends and family (both young and old animals). I ensure they have plenty of food and water, clean litter boxes, go on walks, and spend time with them playing/cuddling. I am back from college for the summer and have plenty of free time on my hands! I am free to dog or cat sit until the end of August. I plan to be attentive to your animals and enthusiastic to spend time with them. I have no specific requirements but would love to chat more after booking the appointment.

“Angie immediately jumped in when I found myself in a predicament without coverage for my medically high needs cat. It was short notice and we were a new client and yet Angie was willing to take care of her. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE other than myself has been able to give my cat her medications… yet somehow Angie was able to do it. She came at the agreed upon times like clockwork and communicated so well while I was gone. I am so thankful to have found someone to help care for my cat when I have to be gone. Will definitely be using Angie again when the need arises!!!”

“Jenevieve is the best dog sitter I’ve had for my dog!! So understanding, helpful, and accommodating! I can’t say enough good things about her and my dog also just loves hanging out with her”

“Allison was a fantastic sitter for our cat Millie! She was very attentive and communicative throughout our trip with daily updates. I knew that Millie was in good hands and she sure showed it once we returned home. Will book again!”

About: I have always had a dog in my family since I was born! I had dog sat for friends and coworkers for as long as a week at a time. I am working full time with a non profit so my hours are pretty flexible. I would take care of pets in the morning before I go to work and they would be my first stop when I head home. I would respect the clients property and their rules and routines! Making sure everything is clean if not cleaner when how I found it! Nothing is better then coming home from a trip to a clean place!
“We absolutely love Rachel! She kept us up to date on our fur babies, sending cute photos and kind notes with each rover card. Our dog and cat were well loved while we were out of town.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 522 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Cambridge. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cambridge. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
