“Janet is amazing! My dog loves coming to board with her and her fur babies. She is kind to him and treats him as one of her own! I’m so grateful when she has availability. Highly recommend!!!”

“Shani was the best choice for our fur baby! I was worried about leaving our baby, Stone, for so long, but Shani made me feel comfortable. She sent me pictures and communicated with me continuously throughout the stay. I could see Stone opening up and enjoying himself. I’m so grateful for her loving care and warmth. Shani is definitely like extended family now, and Stone won’t be staying anywhere else. If you care about your fur baby and want them to be well-loved, book with Shani.”

“Our Daisy had a great time at her overnight with Bridget. Bridget was great to work with, excellent communication and sent lots of pics/videos. Definitely recommend.”

“This was my first time using Sharon and all went well. She sent photos and videos of Lily and took Lily on frequent walks. She was quick to respond to my texts. I really appreciate Sharon’s responsible and professional nature. And when I picked up Lily at the end of her stay, Sharon gifted her a bag of treats and toys and a thank you note! I will definitely use Sharon again.”
“This is Manuel’s 2nd time watching my kitty Luna and he was just as awesome as the first time! He sent me a ton of photos, was very flexible with pick up and drop off times and overall very communicative.”

“Rebecca was theeee absolute best!! I'm so glad we found her. She took the best care of our boy and made him sooo comfortable. This was our first time using this service and I'm so glad we did. She is the best and we plan on using just her for our dog in the future!”

About: I’ve been dog walking for 4 years and truly love caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities.Im also a dog mom to 2 presa carinos & 1 maltipoo. I’m reliable, patient, and focused on making sure every pup feels safe, happy, and comfortable during every walk. Whether your dog needs exercise, playtime, or just a little extra attention while you’re away, I treat them like family. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine as a stay-at-home mom because I have a flexible schedule and spend most of my day active and organized. I enjoy being around animals, and I have free time during the day that allows me to give pets the attention, exercise, and care they need. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or check-ins, I’m able to make pet care a consistent and reliable part of my weekly routine.I can also do late drop ins. I care for pets by making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. In my client’s home, I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, playtime, medications if needed, and any special care requests. I also make sure pets get plenty of attention, patience, and exercise based on their personality and energy level. I always prioritize safety, supervision, and communication with pet parents by providing updates and photos so they feel at ease while away.
“Matt and Leslie were amazing with Gunnar. He seemed to have a wonderful time. They were very communicative and send pics and videos daily. Their dog, Cooper, was an absolute sweetheart and was very easy going (didn’t even seem to mind when Gunnar stole some toys). I would highly recommend them!”

“Victoria watched my Charlie while I took my trip. She always keep me aware of how Charlie is doing with plenty pictures. She has watched Charlie before and I love how she takes care of him!”

“Elizabeth was a wonderful sitter for my two "peanuts" as she called them :) I got daily updates and pictures. The dogs came back super relaxed and happy. I can tell they had a great time with the kiddos.”
“I can’t say enough good things about Shayna. She watched our 2 dogs at her house for a week. One of our dogs gets very nervous around new people and can be reactive. He reacted well at our meet and greet and Shayna felt comfortable that he would do well and he did. I felt at ease seeing how well they were doing with her daily updates and pictures. She really treated them like they were her own. We will definitely be using her services again and would highly recommend her to others.”

“This is the second time Megan has watched our Belle and we are so happy that we have found Megan and her family. As always they treated belle as their own and gave her all of the snuggles and love! We can’t thank Megan and her family enough for taking such amazing care of our Belle and for sending us on all of the updates and photos throughout our week away. We will for sure be booking with Megan again in the future!”

About: I’ve taken care of my own dog and cat for 7 years and before then was the go to sitter for all my friends with pets! I’m also a PhD student in psychology working in animal behaviors. Since young, I understand animals and respect them: how we treat them influences their behaviors. I’ve got the heart and the training to give your babies the best care they deserve when you are away! My schedule is flexible as long as we communicate in advance. My weekdays are mostly spent at home for academic work, and can adjust for drop in visits easily. I have a comfy apartment with one dog and one cat. They’ll keep your baby company if you board with us. I’m skilled in introducing new animals to each other, I try to adjust to each animals temperaments. For all services, I appreciate your tips as you know them the best!
“Mike and Joanna were absolutely amazing! I needed last-minute care for my dog, and they responded almost instantly. From the start, they were friendly, professional, and incredibly accommodating. They took such great care of my dog and made the whole experience completely stress-free for me. It was clear that my dog was comfortable and well cared for the entire time. What really surprised me was that they even sent my dog home with free gifts — such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture, especially for such a short stay! I can’t recommend Mike and Joanna enough. If I could give them 10 stars, I absolutely would. Thank you both for going above and beyond!”

“Had a meet and greet with Cary and her daughter. Juno immediately leaned into her daughter which was a good sign (picked her person). Cary carefully introduced her to her dog and explained how she would care for Juno. I had to make several changes and Cary was very understanding and accommodating which was a stress reliever for me. I picked up Juno and she was so happy to see me unlike my previous experience with another sitter where Juno appeared to be mad at me (lol). Well Juno has been on the couch resting so I know she had a good time otherwise she wouldn’t be so tired. Cary responded to my text and sent video of Juno. Oh and Juno smelled so good and looked good when I picked her up. I felt that Juno was well taken care of. Thank you Cary (and fam) will definitely be using Cary again!”

“OMG she was wonderful. Her space was nice and clean she checked in everyday with me I was running late she assured me it was ok my dog went on play dates and much more. I would definitely be using her every time.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Calumet Park home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Calumet Park.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Calumet Park sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
