“Love the commentary and the pictures Carmen provides. My two are sassy and are constantly gathering their blankets or messing up their beds.... Carmen just fixes them at each visit like a pro.”

“Mandy has been a Godsend! I'm currently going through a lot of transitions in my life and I have worried about my dog and how she would adjust to the changes. With Mandy coming by once a day and spending time with her, she's adjusting quite well! She looks so happy in the pictures Mandy takes, I know she's in good hands!”

“Michele did a fabulous job with our elderly dog during several trips totaling 5-6 days. Good communicator, punctual and asked questions when things arose. Daily pictures and reports showed us Darby was happy, healthy and content w her new friend Michele. And she water our flowers too! We will definitely use her again this summer.”
About: I have had a dog in my life since I was in the third grade. I now have 4 dogs of my own and foster for a local rescue, which means I have taken care of dogs of all ages I currently work Monday - Friday until 3:30 PM and am available after that. Weekends are usually free for anytime care as my job does not require me to work weekends. I do not have a fenced in yard but we do have a portion of the property that is far from the road and boxed in by trees. My dogs are friendly and love to run around and play.
“Thank you Shawn! You were easy to work with and I felt Sonny would be very well cared for, I was very happy to find someone close by who was good with large dogs. I would definitely book with Shawn again :)”

“I wasn't sure what to expect from my two.. but everything was great! I love the pics and the "bathroom" updates. Joe is great with the "big one..Seamus" and the "little one" warmed up after she realized Joe had food...lol!”

About: As a teacher, patience, responsibility, and building trust are part of who I am every day. I naturally create calm, positive relationships and understand that every dog, just like every child, has a unique personality and deserves individualized care. Since I'm on summer break, I have a flexible schedule and can give your pet the time and attention they deserve rather than rushing through visits. Whether it's an energetic walk, extra playtime, or simply providing companionship, I strive to make every dog feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I know that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and my goal is to give you peace of mind by treating your dog like family. 🐾 As a teacher on summer break, I have a flexible daily and weekly schedule, allowing me to prioritize consistent, reliable pet care, walks, and check-ins throughout the day. I care for pets with patience, attention, and love—ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and happy through reliable walks, playtime, feeding routines, and gentle companionship.

“My somewhat shy and very skittish pups. Emmi and Avrie, loved Megan from the first moment they met her! She took great care of them while I was away and even gave one a bath after a "fecal incident", including snuggle time after so my pup was warm and calm before Megan left. She even put my personal bedding in to wash so I didn't have to come home to a mess!!! I will definitely be using her again :D”

About: Have administered specialized medicine to senior animals for ongoing diseases such as kidney disease and hyperthyroidism. Was very diligent nursing my senior kitty before he passed. I work and go to school so my schedule varies but I always have some nights and mornings free each week that I would love to use on animals. I understand and respect animals boundaries and try my best not to encroach them. I've also mastered the "foot as barrier" approach when opening doors.
About: I've loved caring for pets my entire life! My mother was a vet tech who taught me everything I needed to know about caring for animals. I have two senior dachshunds adopted from rescues and have rehabilitated them to be sweet socialized canine citizens. I love dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes. I work a hybrid office job which gives me some flexibility for assisting with your pets! I can walk or visit with your pets in the evenings on weekdays, or anytime on weekends. Your pet will receive care according to their unique needs while I'm visiting with them. Play, feeding, affection, or exercise defined by what you would want to be doing for them yourself.
“Many thanks to Jody for taking such excellent care of my cranky cat. Jody listened so carefully during our "getting to know you" visit that I knew she wouldn't miss a beat in Ben's daily routine. Her emails and photos reassured me that he was a happy camper while we were gone. I really think that her care and attention brought out an affectionate side of him I didn't know he had! I was better able to relax and enjoy my trip knowing he was being looked after by a responsible person with lots of experience. I would not hesitate to book Jody's services again.”

“Julia has been helping me transition my new 5 month lab/boxer puppy to his new home with her drop in visits. She’s very eager to help practice basic commands, crate train, and get my pup comfortable walking around his new neighborhood. Julia asks great questions, communicates quickly, is flexible, and made me feel comfortable leaving my pup for the first time!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
