This was Shanna's second time watching our fur kids and again we were completely happy with her services. We are already arranging our next weekend away and will use Shanna whenever possible!

About: I've cared for animals my whole life. 18 y/o I bought my first Rottweiler. then found a puppy in the trash at a circle k. Bear and Cisco were the first puppies i trained. Next i bred rotties for 6 years. 7 litters later i was a pro, lol. I am now retired at 49 y/o and love animals more than ever. I'd love to meet your pet! my schedule is very flexible. willing to accommodate all needs with proper communication and scheduling. I have reliable transportation for our pets and drive very cautiously. my 3 y/o black labrador, Chase, is an outside only dog now. He is happy and healthy. About: I have had dogs and cats of my own for as long as I can remember, and as any pet owner knows, our pets become apart of our family. Sometimes it’s hard to find someone who will love them and treat them as you would, but I’m here to tell you that your fur babies will be loved and cared for by me as much as I would my own (and probably a little spoiled too haha)! I would love to be that person that helps ease your mind knowing that your fur baby is safe and sound while you’re away! I work from home, so pet care for me day to day is pretty easy! They will have lots of play time and potty time throughout the day and night! How I take care of pets will always vary on the owners wants and needs. Regardless of what it is, I’m more than willing to go above and beyond for them. Whether it’s just to feed the pet and let it out for potty breaks, or sit on the couch and love on them because they have separation anxiety! I am open and willing to do whatever I can for your fur babies!

Stephanie was amazing! This was our first time with housesitters, we have a dog that gets separation anxiety, and a cat with a strict diet. She and her fiance were great through the entire process. They helped with a last minute schedule change and they followed all instructions perfectly. We received tons of pictures during our trip and the animals were very happy. Our house looked perfect when we came back. We cannot speak any higher of their quality of service. Very happy we chose Stephanie and would definitely recommend to everyone.

Brea and Jeffrey, we are SO lucky to have had you with our fur babies!! For anyone looking for a sitter for their babies, look no further! Brea went the extra mile on everything you could think of + more! From check ins to photos, we were kept in the loop every day, giving us a much needed ease being in a different state from our pup and kitties! Having someone be so respectful of our home, our pets, and their health and needs was so refreshing and will have us recommending and rebooking Brea any time we can for our trips away from home. Thank you again, a million times over for your incredible care and attentiveness to our bunch!

About: Hi! My name is Kelly, and I have 10 years of experience caring for dogs and cats of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. I grew up with Giant to medium-sized dogs, including Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Mastiffs, Labrador Retrievers, and Australian Heelers. I've also cared for smaller breeds such as Pomeranians, Chihuahuas, and Maltese through pet sitting and dog walking. My caregiving style is patient, calm, and playful. When meeting a new pet, I believe in letting them set the pace. Rather than forcing interaction, I give dogs space to become comfortable, let them approach me on their own, and allow them to learn my scent and presence naturally. This approach has helped me build trust with both outgoing and shy dogs. I enjoy spending time outdoors with pets, whether that's a morning walk, playtime, or simply relaxing together. I have also volunteered with the Pinal County Animal Shelter, where I helped walk and socialize dogs. Additionally, I have worked with Maricopa County's Animal Shelter for their "Tails around town" program, where I would take out and care for adoptive animals for the day, allowing them to socialize and meet their potential new families! Through both volunteer work and personal experience, I've become comfortable working with dogs of different sizes, energy levels, and temperaments. I'm currently a student at Northern Arizona University and have professional experience in caregiving and service-oriented roles, which have strengthened my reliability, communication skills, and attention to detail. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, or overnight care in their own home, I will treat them with the same care and respect I would give my own. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I'm available whenever your furry family needs me! I'm currently home from college and have a very flexible schedule, allowing me to build my routine around the pets and families I work with. Whether it's early morning walks, midday drop-ins, evening visits, or overnight stays, I'm able to adapt my schedule to meet your pet's needs. Pet care is something I genuinely enjoy and look forward to. I love getting to know each pet's unique personality and building trust with them over time. My goal is to provide reliable, consistent care while giving owners peace of mind knowing their pets are being treated like family. I try to make a pet's time away from their owner feel as normal as possible. Every animal is different, so I don't believe in taking the exact same approach with every pet. Some dogs want to play immediately, while others need time to warm up. Some cats want attention right away, while others prefer to observe from across the room first. When meeting a new pet, I usually let them come to me. I give them space to get comfortable, learn my scent, and interact at their own pace. I've found that being patient and calm helps build trust much faster than forcing attention or excitement. Having owned and cared for breeds ranging from Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, Mastiffs, and Heelers to Chihuahuas, Pomeranians, and Maltese, I'm comfortable adapting to different personalities, energy levels, and routines. Whether your pet enjoys a morning walk, playtime in the yard, or simply having someone nearby while you're away, I'm happy to meet them where they're at. I also understand that I'm not just caring for your pet but I'm a guest in your home. I make an effort to keep things tidy, follow your instructions carefully, and provide updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is in good hands.

About: I've been taking care of animals since I could remember. Comes with living on a farm for half my life. Watching family dogs to taking care of horses. I love animals so much, I wouldn't have it any other way! I'm currently working a part time job, but I can take care of your pups on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Anytime after 12 pm! On the week days it'd be anytime after 8 pm! Unfortunately, I won't be able to take any fur babies to my rambunctious home. As my doggies get overwhelmed very easily with new dogs around.

About: We've been caring for pets since we were both about 5 years old, with Gary's grandparents owning a farm & ranch in Montana growing up. Karen's family bred poodles since she was born. We're good at training puppies, and adult dogs as well. We love playing fetch much of the day with our Tilly and will do what your pet loves as well! We've cared for HUGE birds, tiny birds, chickens, cats, dogs large and small, rabbits, cattle, horses and pigs. We have also administered various types of medicine and cared for different types of infections, teaching owners as well. We love to snuggle with them and give them lots of attention! I, Karen, am used to cooking holistic meals for our dog and will care for your pet according to your instructions as well. We enjoy walking them, swimming with them and petting them often. They deserve it! They rely on us for their WHOLE well-being. Consistency is so important for animals so we will respect and follow the plans you lay out for them. We can also gather mail, water plants, do housekeeping, organization, gardening and more. Gary is a great handyman should the need arise during a sit. He maintains our pool and irrigation systems and makes any repairs needed. We're truly a great team!❤️ This is our sole work so available most of the time! Of course it depends on the type of care you need and if it works along with another sit. For example, we could walk your dog daily and have an overnight sit that allows for a short leave for that. We are very attentive, loving and kind! Our goldendoodle Tilly is on a nice schedule for exercise, eating, supplements and only healthy treats. We keep her clean and always look her over for any wounds and whatnot. We keep a clean home with uplifting music for pets. Also, we're very cognizant of pet signals, like needing to go potty, play, snack, snuggle and wanting general attention. It's one of those things that you get blessed by for just BEING a blessing to them!💛

About: I’ve owned a small poodle for 10 years and have extensive experience dog sitting for both small and large breeds. I’m an athlete who loves staying active, so I’m perfect for energetic pups and long walks. I also have professional training in correctional settings, which means I’m observant, patient, and very safety-focused. I treat every dog like family and prioritize consistency, structure, and love I currently work part time as a server and am on the path to graduate with my masters by the end of next year. I love pet sitting because it is a way for me to get out and be active. My house has a backyard with a doggie door and I really take into consideration the personality of the dog when planning my day. Some dogs like to chill and some like to go for runs or hikes, so I am adjustable to their schedules and preferences.

About: I love hanging out with animals! I’ve fostered puppies as young as 5 weeks old and have either watched or spent time with dogs of all stages of life!! Ever since adopting a 3 year old dog of my own, I’ve realized having a pet helps me in my routine. I get up more consistently for potty time and when I take him out in the morning it helps me get my day going. I feel more active and always have something to look forward to when going home. I make sure to feed and walk the pets for potty breaks. I let my dog watch doggy tv on youtube and Bluey as well. I like to have lots of toys for pets to be entertained. I have lots of space in my two story unit where I live alone.

FAQs for House Sitting - Cactus Forest

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of June 2026, there are 324 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cactus Forest. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cactus Forest walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cactus Forest maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cactus Forest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cactus Forest. On Rover:

  • 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
