About: I’ve had pets all through out my life. I am very accommodating and have the most patience when it comes to animals. I love training, and am very familiar with the puppy phase, i’m a pro at midnight potty breaks. If your pet has any routines or weird quirks they enjoy, I love to provide! I currently volunteer at a local shelter and am starting a part time position in April, so I am very available right now, and will be flexible working around my schedule when the time comes. I love positive reinforcement, I don’t believe any animal being submissive or fearful is the goal, respect goes both ways. If you work on training or certain cues I’m more then happy to incorporate them in walks or with meals.

About: I have been caring for pets of family and friends since I was a child and always put in the extra time for exercise, mental stimulation, and affection. I have successfully helped puppies complete puppy training and offer caring support to elderly animals and those with special medical needs. I do contract work and have a lot of time off so can be with your pets for extended amounts of time. I live in the forest close to a provincial park I visit regularly and can provide long nature walks for your dogs. While I currently don't have any of my own pets at this time, I will enthusiastically cherish the time I get to spend with yours!

About: I have taken care of animals as small as cats and Shih Tzus all the way up to Irish Wolfhounds and horses! No animal is too big or small! (Excluding boarding since I can’t exactly bring a horse into my apartment haha) I am currently working part time so I can likely find time to fit in the pup. I am quite flexible and the animals come first! At my home the puppers would have 2-3 walks per day and potty breaks every 2-4 hours depending on the pup! I have multiple great trails within walking distance and a plethora more within a short drive!

Our cat has a bit of separation anxiety and needs lots of company, attention, and entertainment which Carissa seemed to fulfill even in a short visit. “I contacted Dorothy months ahead about a drop-in type visit while my husband and I were to be visiting Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, from California for a family wedding. I scheduled with Dorothy to come to our travel trailer in the Living Forest Campground and RV Park for the Meet n Greet to not only meet us, but how to get in our trailer, all about the dogs and their needs. Dorthy listened to all that was needed and then contacted me by text during the scheduled evening when we were gone to let us know she’d been there and handled everything. There were three dogs to walk in two trailers and Dorothy fed each one and took them for walks to get their business done; what a lifesaver she was so that we could be gone for an extended time and all was handled. I recommend Dorothy without hesitation and will use her again if we ever come back to Nanaimo.”

About: I have been in the pet care business for over 10 years. From doggie walks to overnight stays. I understand what it takes to be a loving and responsible care giver as I have needed to have a person care for my pets when I'm away. We all need to feel the confidence when putting the trust into a person who will be caring for our family members. Communication is key with regular updates. I am semi retired and there are days where I will be away from the home for approx. 6 hours while caring for your pet. I am available for most days other than my time away. Only looking to book locally . Making sure I understand all the pet care details, having them written down to make sure all is being done correctly. Regular communication between the parties.
