About: Along with having many pets of my own, I’ve also done volunteer work with animal rescues in the past and am super comfortable with taking care of both dogs and cats. I love pets of all shapes and sizes! Working from home allows me plenty of time to prioritize your pet’s needs! I have lots of free time and am available most weekdays and weekends :) Although I don’t currently offer boarding services, I can still make sure that your pet gets all the exercise and attention they could possibly want, both inside and outside of your home! As a pet owner myself, I understand the trust that goes into having someone care for your furry friends and I will always be sure to treat both your pets and your space with the utmost care and respect.
“Sarah was prompt and friendly and easily warmed up to my dog, Eddie. Our interactions on and off the app have been pleasant and she’s been helpful. She walked Eddie as requested, even in the cold and wind! We will be setting up weekly walks with Sarah for sure!”

About: I have 8 years of professional experience in dog daycare and boarding facilities working as a dog handler. I am confident with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. As a dog mama of two, I’d love to host pups in my home so they have a home away from home when you are away! I am a full time stay at home mom to a toddler. My availability is very flexible and I am happy to accommodate various scheduling needs! I have a fully fenced in, large back yard for your dog to roam and explore. Happy to house dogs as if they’re at home, they are able to sleep in my room with me, or if you’re more comfortable, my spare room or living area. I encourage those who use crates at home to bring the crate with you for the most familiar and comfortable stay possible.

About: My family got our first dog when I was 6 years old so I’ve always loved them and been around them. I started really taking care of dogs about 9 years ago, and 6 years ago got my own - a playful and sweet female Cane Corso runt. I also have a 3 y/o Australian Shepherd, who belongs to my fiance. I truly believe that dogs are not only a man’s best friend, but family. I have always treated them with the utmost care, love and respect, which I hope to give to your pup during our walks together. I work part-time and my job is flexible, so I have lots of time to dog walk, especially in the mornings which is when I take my pups for walks. They especially love MacElmon’s Pond, Brookfield Wetlands and the Wentworth Provincial Park Loop. I have an unfenced yard with a ground spike and two 30ft metal leashes for tying dogs out back. I also have lots of dog toys like ropes, balls and frisbees, and of course treats for training.

About: I love all sized and tempered dogs! As a tech student I have the ability to medicate, train and bath/ groom with nothing but love I’m currently a student full time so my schedule varies but reach out and I’m sure I can make it work! Cant wait to chat! I have a very overly playful puppy so I am a great place if you have a high energy dog loving dog or cat! Also have a kitten who is very out of the way and barely a bother!
About: I have been a dog lover for longer than I can remember. Growing up as a kid I was blessed with a golden lab and chow chow to run around with. The lab became my best friend, a 4-legged friend to walk through the streets and pass my scraps to under the table (now as an adult I'm much more knowledgeable about not feeding the dog everything you can). Throughout the years I've lived with a variety of different dogs, as well as fostering a few within my home. From pugs to staffords, german shepherds to golden doodles. I've lived abroad and dealt with homeless dogs, been able to feed and help care for their needs. I am currently looking to broaden my doggie circle and have my own dog meet some pals along the way! I live in Bass River on a large lot of land, but can easily drive to your area to care for your animal. I can easily take them for walks using my car as well. My job as an elementary math teacher requires me to work about 6 hours at a time between Sept and June, but I have full availability during the summer months. I am active myself, so if your dog loves running around at the park or going for hikes, we can definitely do so! I have a 6.5 year old black lab rescue named Cali who loves to be outdoors. I also have an 8.5 year old mutt named Poncho who is lazy and calm. They are both super friendly and adore all animals (both dogs and cats). So as long as your pet gets along with others as well, it could be a match made in Heaven! There'll be lots of attention, loving, and care. Whatever your dog needs, I will make sure to go above and beyond! I do teach during the week (Sept-June) but am able to come home on lunch breaks to care for the dog if accessible by my work route. My schedule is normally flexible but I am never out of the house for more than a few hours. I have an unfenced yard and a lovely, walkable neighbourhood by the water. I am able to drive us to dog parks or walking trails as well! My own dog loves going to the beaches and parks around town, especially school fields, a fan favourite!
About: I have taken care of dogs since I was 10. Friends and family have trusted me to brush, walk and bath. I've also been trusted to look after their dogs for weeks a time. I have two part time jobs, one on the weekends and the other is 3 days throughout the week, so I will have lots of time to spend with your pups throughout the week. I will keep your dog on a leash when being taken outside, unless you have a fenced in yard or told otherwise. I will always keep your home clean and let you know immediately if anything were to happen.
About: I've been loving on and taking care of pets since I was a little kid. I'm that person who gets along with pets more than people and go straight to them at a party 🙃 I love to take dogs out on lots of walks, cuddle cats while I'm crocheting, and make sure that they are well taken care of. I'm currently between jobs and looking to pick up some work ASAP. I have lots of timt to spoil ypur pets. Open for weekends and holidays as well. I am a great guest and responsible house keeper. I love to go on lots of walks and provide lot of attention to your pets.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Truro choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
