About: I have always had pets and our family pets were often rescues. Until recently I had a large reactive rescue dog named Tony. I worked with Tony to help him be less anxious and reactive and Tony and I had great years together. I am comfortable with all dogs including large, reactive or rescued dogs. I have also cared for senior dogs and including a senior chihuahua and senior border collies. I work full time and remotely so I’m home most of the time. I’m rarely away from my home for longer than a couple hours to run errands. I like to exercise outside and go for daily walks. I have a large yard that’s fenced in three sides for quick trips out, however no dogs are ever off-leash. I live in a walkable neighbourhood and walk daily. I have no rules about pets on furniture (my couch is your couch!) and theres always fresh water.
About: I grew up with dogs, and they have a close place in my heart. I’m patient and gentle and have a soft spot for older dogs. Ever since I lost my family dog two years ago I’ve been looking for some more dog love in my life. I work full time, and work from home on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and could fit in lunchtime walks if it’s close to home. My schedule on weekends is typically very flexible. I understand the importance of the rules in your home when it comes to your pet and will be sure to respect them! I want to ensure your pet feels at home even when they’re with someone new, so I believe that keeping your routines is important.
“Nataliya & Jason were awesome with our Kaiser. They treated him like one of their family and spoiled him so much with walks, car rides, homemade food and the dog park, we were afraid he wouldn't want to come home with us. They sent us daily updates and pictures, which is always appreciated. We would definitely recommend Nataliya and Jason 100%. You can’t go wrong. Thanks very much for your special love and care of Kaiser.”

About: I've had dogs and cats since I was a wee lass. Following the training philosophy and methods developed by the monks of New Skete, I also help trained many dogs throughout the years. Dogs have been my preferred house companions my entire life. Since I work at home online, your dog would never be left alone, and since I have almost 10 acres of land, and made trails in the snow, your dog will get many walks (long or short depending on their needs) during the day, and the early morning hours if they stay overnight, as I'm an active outdoor "type". If your dog has proven to have excellent recall, they may also run off lead in either the fenced in paddocks (there are five 1/2 acres paddocks) or in the backfield. But that would have to be approved by you first, their "human partner", of course. I see patients at home online for 45-90min therapy sessions, When I'm not doing therapy sessions, I read, write, teach languages, meditate and exercise. So plenty of time to walk your fur babies and give them "bathroom breaks". I'm the only human in a big farm house with almost 10 acres of paddocked land for pasture. You will need to bring bed(s) for your dog/cats, crates if they prefer, but they will mostly sit beside me all day, and sleep with me on the bed at night (if that's what you permit at home). They will not be left alone as I seldom leave the farm.
“Ivy absolutely LOVED her stay with Katherine and her family. She played happily with the other dogs, under Katherine's watchful eye and was happy (and tired) when she returned. Katherine was very willing to accommodate our schedule and is a lovely, kind person who is very knowledgable about dogs. We don't go away very often but when we do, we'll be sure to ask Katherine to 'babysit' our Ivy again! A 5-star experience, for sure!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
