About: I’ve been around animals my entire life, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. I grew up learning hands-on from my mom, who was a dog trainer and groomer, so from a young age I was exposed to proper handling, training, and understanding of animal behaviour. Over the years, I’ve cared for a wide range of animals in different settings. I’ve owned and looked after dogs of all sizes and breeds, and even had early experience caring for exotic pets while living in Papua New Guinea. My experience also includes working in a veterinary clinic where I took on the role of a vet assistant, volunteering at a wildlife rehabilitation centre, and working in an animal shelter where I was also the lead dog handler, so I’m very comfortable with animals of all temperaments, including those who may be nervous, shy, or require a bit of extra patience. I’m currently in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programme at the Atlantic Veterinary College training to be a vet, and I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in BioVeterinary Science, minoring in Equine Science, along with an undergraduate certificate in Animal Welfare. I have a particular interest in animal behaviour and training, and I always aim to make pets feel safe, understood, and comfortable in my care while emphasising fear-free care. I am also able to provide medical care as well. Whether your pet is high-energy, a little anxious, or just needs some extra love and attention, I’m happy to meet them where they’re at and provide care that’s tailored to them. I am currently on summer break from vet school and is available all days of the week to provide drop-in visits, dog walks, pet sitting, or administer medications according to my provided availability. I always aim to care for pets in a way that keeps them feeling safe, comfortable, and as close to their normal routine as possible. Every animal is different, so I adapt my care based on their personality, energy level, and individual needs. In a client’s home, I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, enrichment, and affection while also respecting the routines they’re used to. I’m comfortable administering basic care and medications, providing medical care, monitoring behaviour, and caring for anxious or shy animals with patience and understanding. I also make it a priority to keep owners updated with regular photos and messages for peace of mind. With my background in veterinary medicine, shelter work, animal behaviour and training, and wildlife rehabilitation, I’m confident handling pets of different temperaments, sizes, and ages. My goal is always to create a calm, positive environment where pets feel secure and well cared for.

About: Having professional experience in boarding/ daycare kennels allows me the ability to understand dog behavior and how to handle dogs of all temperaments. As well as pet sitting for family friends for years. Currently enrolled full time at Dalhousie and working part time, but have flexibility to accommodate your needs. This can be discussed further following a meet and greet. I treat the animals as though they were my own. Keeping in mind how I would want my own cat or dog to be treated if they were entrusted to another person's care.

About: I have 7 years of professional experience in dog daycare and boarding facilities working as a dog handler. I am confident with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. A dog mama of two, I’d love to host pups in my home so they have a home away from home when you are away! I am a full time stay at home mom to a toddler. My availability is very flexible and I am happy to accommodate various scheduling needs! I have a fully fenced in, large back yard for your dog to roam and explore. Happy to house dogs as if they’re at home, they are able to sleep in my room with me, or if you’re more comfortable, my spare room or living area.

About: I have a passion for pets and years of experience - I've had my own cats, dogs, rats, and hamsters, cared for roommates' cats and dogs, and done a lot of petsitting. I've lived with and cared for pets with aggression issues, medical needs, health problems, and both know how to handle and train pets and also have a lot of love to give! I have a special soft spot in my heart for older and senior animals, but love pets of all ages :) I'm new to Rover so don't have reviews here yet, but am happy to share my profile on Trusted Housesitters and AirBnb and to provide references. I can accept pets for boarding who are able to be on their own or rest quietly while I am in online meetings. My schedule is variable and I can schedule walks/drop ins/care in morning, midday, or evening hours. I have a small backyard and enjoy going to for walks to the nearby parks and trails. I can board small sized dogs in my home.

About: Safety is my love language: safety that comes from structure, structure that is backed by deep philosophy and experience. Whether we're talking about emotional safety (a dog feeling secure and confident to interact with the outside world), or safety for other humans and other dogs, safety for me as a pet professional, and safety for the owners in the habits I'm encouraging the dog to inhabit, my service is based on safety above all because without safety none of us can thrive. I'm busy building a farm care business that expands across Canada. All my waking hours and some sleeping hours too are spent obsessing about pet care, as dogs form the center of this pet care philosophy. Continuing onwards in a concentric circle, cats are followed by other farm animals. When it comes to dogs, i work with treats to encourage a strong place command. Once the place command is clear, i know that any time the pup is off his cushion, it is time for a walk.

About: I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember! Growing up with cats, dogs, birds, and even turtles, I was always surrounded by furry (and feathered) friends. My love for horses led me to the pony club, where I learned how to care for them and even competed. In the early 2000s, while living in Austin, I had the unique privilege of house- and cat-sitting for the dean of liberal arts at UT. He had eight cats, and every year when he traveled to the UK, I happily moved in as their temporary but devoted caretaker. Over the years, I’ve jumped at any chance to look after friends’ pets—both cats and dogs—because, honestly, hanging out with animals never feels like a chore. These days, my husband and I are often asked to house- and dog-sit for friends in Halifax, which is always a treat. I love keeping a tidy home, making sure pets get plenty of exercise (extra walks if they’re up for it!), and ensuring they get all the love and care they need. I’m also experienced with administering medication and even whipping up special homemade meals for pups with refined palates. Caring for animals has always been a joy, and I love the connections I’ve made along the way—both human and four-legged. Fun fact: As a kid, I tried to start a dog-walking business and passed out hundreds of flyers in my neighborhood. Unfortunately, dog-walking wasn’t really a thing back then, and the only call I got was from a lady… who had a cat! I work part-time remotely from home, so I have plenty of time to care for house pets, go for walks, and I am up at the crack of dawn most days. I love a healthy routine, and keeping things organized and tidy. Whether I'm caring for a pet in my home or anyone else's, I like to follow the routine that works for everyone when it comes to exercise and feeding. When it comes to dealing with emergencies, I'm pretty chill, and I always check-in with the pet/home owner before any major purchases or vet visits.

Flexible schedule that easily accommodates daily walks, drop-ins, and overnight stays; happy to adjust timing around your pet’s routine for feeding, potty breaks, and bedtime, ensuring consistent care whether it’s a quick visit or an extended stay. In a pet owner’s home, I follow their established routines closely; sticking to regular feeding schedules, walk times, and bedtime habits to keep things familiar and low-stress. About: Hi! I am a Law student at Dalhousie who would love to help with all your pet-related needs. I love going on long walks, hanging out in parks, and spending as much time as I can outside - which would be even better with a dog (I am missing mine from home)! I grew up with a small poodle in my family for most of my life, alongside lots of other pets (hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, hermit crabs), and just adopted a puppy with my family at home, so I am happy to look after a pet of any shape or size! I am also comfortable administering medications (oral / injected) through experience caring for my family dog in her older years. I live in a house of 4 animal-loving students, with a yard and located just a block away from The Commons and close to some off-leash dog parks, so your pet would be able to make lots of visits to play! I can accommodate up to two dogs, but would prefer to look after just one pet (cat/dog/other) at a time to provide maximum care and attention. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions :) I’m a full-time student, but am very flexible around classes. I am free Monday afternoons, Thursday mornings and afternoons, and flexible Friday and on weekends, and I would love to care for your furry friends during these free times! As I typically only accept one pet (or household of pets) at a time, I aim to give my greatest attention to your pets to ensure their safety and happiness!
