“John and Lynda are really great. They are both so kind and it's clear they love dogs. They took great care of my babies. I truly felt like it was a safe place to leave them. Ive used them multiple times now and will again!”

“Pratheeksha was very kind, and helpful. She sent pictures of my dogs throughout the day, and took them on several walks. I really appreciate you helping me today, and my dogs were both happy and healthy when I picked them up. I will use Pratheeksha again.”

“The second time we've booked with Shavon and both times she's been great! She takes great care of our dog Hazel and provides lots of updates. We're thankful as when we're away on vacation it's nice for our dog too get a little vacation off her own!”

“Charlotte was exceptional during our vacation in tending to my little Jasper. I received at least one update daily and kept in touch often throughout the week. Jasper was so spoiled I wasn’t sure if he would want to come home 😂 Ruger is also the best big buddy for even my 12lb pup, and was so happy to have another dog to keep him busy! Feels going having a reliable sitter here in a new city for us 😊”

“Lauren was absolutely fantastic with our dog, Kevin! From the moment we met, she was friendly and welcoming. Kevin had an amazing time with her, and it was clear they had lots of fun together. Lauren sent plenty of photos, keeping us updated throughout his stay. Highly recommend!”

“Alyssa was amazing! I was so nervous to meet & greet with her as our one pug can be nippy at new people. We arrived at her house and our pug’s tail was wagging so much! We booked her for one day and our fur babies were well treated. They loved her deck & fenced backyard! Will definitely rebook with her again!!”

“Tannis very clearly loves dogs and is committed to making sure they are happy and well cared for. She is a thoughtful and responsive communicator, which helped to put me at ease with the entire process. Tannis was able to accommodate a meet and greet with my dog on short notice before her stay, and then communicated well through my dog’s stay. I would absolutely recommend her.”

“Wenyu and his partner are wonderful people who took great care of my dog, Rex. We met at the park for a visit prior to confirming the booking to ensure it was a good fit, and it was clear immediately that it was. After five days away Rex was his normal self. I would not hesitate to book again.”

“We’ve had such a great experience with Charmaine and have used her multiple times. She takes wonderful care of our dogs, and they always come home happy—and honestly even better behaved than when we dropped them off! She keeps us fully updated while they’re with her, which gives us a lot of peace of mind. It’s clear the dogs have a great time and are very well looked after. Both of our dogs can get a bit weird when they’re away from us and sometimes refuse to eat, but she is incredibly patient and handles this so well. We really appreciate the care, understanding, and attention she gives them. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.”

“Lindsay was genuinely the best option for our puppy Fez! Her family provided such a welcoming and loving environment for him- I could tell Lindsay's entire family fell in love with him and were sad to see him go! Will DEFINITELY book with her again! He was so well cared for and I could genuinely sense that while on my 8 day vacation, I was not stressed or worrying about him at all- he was in such good hands!”

“I was very appreciative with the ease of setting up a meet & greet and that Alyssa went above and beyond to make daily house visits to check in on my cat on top of taking care of my dog. I also loved the amount of pictures that were being sent. Very pleased and will definitely book with Alyssa again.”

“Sarah is absolutely wonderful. She took good care of Mogy. Mogy is not sociable with other dogs. He had gotten into fights with cats. It was the first time leaving him with a sitter. I was worried about him. Sarah kept me posted letting me know Mogy was doing well. He had no problems playing with her dog and cats. Mogy was happy and energetic when I picked him up.”

“Karrie is our go to when we are in Regina. Leaving our dog with Karrie feels like leaving our dog with a family member. Our dog gets so excited to go to Karrie’s house and I’ve never worried about her while she is there. Karrie send pictures and updates and I know our dog is well cared for.”

“Gisele was available on short notice. I’m glad she was able to watch our dog. She has a fenced back yard for our dog to run around, she provided such good care and made Tidus feel welcome. I would definitely recommend her as she has positive energy and a was available on short notice”
“Marc was excellent with my little Yorkie. She was very recently rescued from an unusual situation and doesn’t act like you might expect a dog to act. She is also still afraid of almost everything and everyone. But she took to Marc right away and he was very understanding of her situation and she obviously enjoyed her stay.”

Diana was so great with my 4 month old puppy. She was patient, calm, and genuinely caring, which made me feel really comfortable leaving her. Her own dog is also amazing and so good with other dogs, which really helped my puppy settle in and feel at ease. I picked up a very happy pup and wouldn’t hesitate to have Diana watch her again. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
