About: I have been a pet parent all of my life. I grew up on a farm with every sort of animal. My parents bred Dachshunds and American Eskimos. Currently, I am mom to a rescued Frenchie girl with a heart murmur. She has a Grade 3 of 6 heart murmur which makes me especially familiar with special needs animals. Being a Frenchie mom also means that I am aware of the special needs of Brachycephalic dog breeds (especially during the hot summer months). I worked in a privately owned holistic pet store for more than four years helping customers find the right food, treats and remedies for their fur babies. There is no more satisfying feeling than the results of the help I provided. Seeing the transformation of the fur baby and the happiness that it brought to their pet parent ❤️ I also fostered for Niagara Dog Rescue for a brief period before finding my forever girls. I dealt with dogs with behavioural issues and showed them that not all humans hurt or leave. No request or care detail is ever overlooked. Post walk paw cleaning, face fold cleaning, special post walk treats... Clean water from a freshly washed bowl. Whatever your pup needs will be done. I practice Cesar Millan's techniques and am a calm and confident walker. However; I also know how super important it is for pups to have the opportunity for enrichment through sniffing. All dogs are the cute, cuddle kind. I can't wait to meet yours! I'm home full time other than when walking or checking on fur friends. Your fur family will be able to get as much time and love as they need while you are out/away. In my home, your fur babies become adopted family and will be given the freedom to roam and cuddle wherever they like. If your fur baby needs the safe space of a crate, that is completely doable.

“Cortney is amazing with our high energy puppy who absolutely adores her. Cortney is very responsive, and inquired about our dog and her likes when meeting prior to her first walk. She provided feedback after the walk which was appreciated. We will definitely be relying more on Cortney to help with walks, and certainly recommend her to anyone who may need someone for walking their dog or for visits.”

“Alex has been absolutely great with our 7 year old pit heeler, Moon. Normally, Moon takes awhile to warm up to strangers, but with Alex, there was a bond from Day 1. Alex is fantastic: reliable and on time - rain, snow or shine, courteous and goes above and beyond in their daily 1 hour walks. So happy to find you, Alex! Many thanks to you, from Moon’s family! ❤️”

“If you’re looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker, look no further than Michelle. We can't recommend her enough—10 out of 10 stars! Thank you, Michelle, for taking such wonderful care of Kobe! 🐾❤️”

About: Hey, my name is Lucas! I wanted to expand my love for animals by pet sitting on Rover and have fun. I’ve grown up with many dogs; most of which have been beagles, and I currently own a cat that I have had for over 5 years. I have been trusted by family and friends to walk, feed, play with, and look after their pets for as long as I can remember. I have also contributed my time at the local humane society :) I am a full-time university student and part-time restaurant worker, and would like to help out your pet in the morning or late at night! I have a large fenced backyard for your pet to enjoy, and I have one friendly cat in the house. The inside is clean, safe, and spacious. I look forward to welcoming and caring for your pet(s)!
About: I’ve always been the person who ends up spending more time with dogs than people. 😊 I have about 2 years of experience caring for dogs through family, friends and clients, and I have my own dog who has taught me so much about patience, routines and understanding dogs for who they are. I have experience with small and large dogs, high-energy dogs, seniors, anxious dogs, strong pullers and multiple dogs at once. I’m very active, so I’m happy to keep up with dogs who need lots of exercise, but I’m just as happy with a chill pup who wants company and cuddles. I’m very careful about following routines, feeding instructions and dietary restrictions. Most importantly, I genuinely love spending time with dogs and will treat yours with the same care and attention I give my own. ❤️ I work full-time from home Monday to Friday, which gives me lots of flexibility for walks and drop-ins throughout the day, especially in the mornings, around lunch and in the evenings. If I’m house sitting, I can also work from your home, so I’m able to spend plenty of time with your pets while you’re away. I’m also available on weekends! Your pet’s safety and routine are extremely important to me. I’ll follow your instructions closely, whether that’s feeding at a certain time, dietary restrictions, medications, exercise or house rules. I’m also very careful about what I give dogs and prefer safe, durable toys and healthy, usually single-ingredient treats (with your permission, of course!). I always check collars and harnesses before walks and adjust outdoor activities for extreme heat or cold. If anything ever seems wrong, I’ll contact you right away, keep you updated and follow your instructions for veterinary or emergency care. You can also expect regular photos and updates so you know your pet is happy and being well cared for. ❤️
About: I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember! I grew up in a house full of dogs, and caring for animals has always been a natural and important part of my life. While I don’t currently have a dog of my own, I’ve had many years of experience loving and caring for dogs. I’ve also been a cat mom for the past 15+ years, so I’m pretty comfortable with both dogs and cats! I understand that pets are family, and I know how important it is to have someone you can trust to care for them when you’re away. I’ll treat your pets with the same love, patience, attention, and respect that I would want for my own. Whether they need a walk, some playtime, extra cuddles, or simply a calm and caring presence, I’d love the opportunity to help your pet feel happy, safe, and loved while you’re away. As a stay-at-home mom with a flexible part-time job, I have a schedule that allows me to be available during the day. I love that Rover gives me the opportunity to spend more time with animals while also working around my family’s schedule. I’m able to offer daytime walks, drop-ins, and plenty of attention and companionship for pets who need some extra love while their families are busy. I know that inviting someone into your home to care for your pets is a big responsibility, and I don’t take that trust lightly. I will treat your home with the same care and respect I would want someone to show my own. I’ll follow your instructions carefully, keep a close eye on your pets, and make sure doors, gates, and other areas are secure. My goal is for you to feel confident knowing your pets and your home are in caring, responsible, and trustworthy hands while you’re away.
About: Hi! I'm Taya, a 37-year-old lifelong dog owner offering dog walking, pet sitting, and in-home pet care in KW and the surrounding area. I've spent my life raising large breeds, and the dogs that have shaped me most weren't the easy ones. I know from personal experience the anxiety that comes with finding a trusted person to take care of and understand the needs of a strong and reactive dog. My Cane Corso (147 lbs) was reactive — dogs, bicycles, scooters, you name it — and together we developed what I call defensive walking: staying proactive, reading the environment ahead, and keeping situations calm before they escalate. I know how to manage powerful dogs on a leash and how to advocate for reactive dogs in the real world. My Rottweiler had seizures, which means I'm also experienced in recognizing and responding to seizure episodes and comfortable administering medication on a schedule or in an emergency. I don't panic — I've been there. What I offer: Dog walking (including reactive and large breed dogs) Pet sitting at your home Medication administration if required I'm a responsible, experienced dog person who understands that your dog isn't just a pet. I am currently unemployed by choice. I have spent a few years in Australia and recently returned to Canada. I have all the time to dedicate towards pet care. I have a fully fenced yard with my home, with no other animals here. At your home, I will follow your rules. Pats and cuddles on the couch if it's allowed; if not, we will sit on the floor and cuddle.

I truly love animals and will treat your furry family members with the same care, patience, and love I would give my own. I always keep my Rover calendar updated, so you can easily see my availability and the times I’m free. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends! I work currently full-time from home and I am available during the day from 12-2pm for check ins walks. I’m also available after 530pm for evening walks, check ins and house sitting. I have over 18 years dog experience as I grew up with them and now have one of my own . I love interacting with animals while maintaining the owners regular training techniques. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Kitchener
This was the first time using Rover and Cortney was a pleasure to deal with. She set up a meeting before the walk which was nice and put us at ease that Milo was going to be in good hands. I appreciate the update on the walk and the pictures. We will definitely use Cortney again.

Andrea has been excellent to work with. This is the first time I have used this site so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Andrea is kind, reliable, and has communicated very well throughout the process. She is reliable, arrived at my home on time, and took my dog on her first walk today, and even sent an update picture while on their walk (which was a nice surprise). Highly recommend!

Wei-Chien was punctual, reliable, and a great communicator. She walked our puppy twice a day when we were not able to be home, and I felt great peace of mind knowing our puppy was in good hands and getting the attention he needed. I appreciated the pictures she took and the updates along the way, and how she asked questions to clarify our preferences. Thank you so much Wei-Chien!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kitchener choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 85% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
