Jayson was wonderful to work with. I hired him to walk my dog while I was out of town on business, and from the start, he was responsive, professional, and easy to communicate with. His prompt replies and clear communication gave me confidence that my dog was in good hands. While I was away, Jayson sent regular text updates and photos, which provided great peace of mind. Knowing how my dog was doing each day made it much easier to focus on my trip without worrying. I truly appreciated his reliability, consistency, and thoughtful updates throughout my time away. I would not hesitate to recommend Jayson to anyone looking for a dependable and caring dog walker. His excellent service made all the difference, and I was able to travel knowing my dog was well cared for.

Michelle has been such a big help with my two pups! She’s great with them and they always come back happy and pooped (which is amazing for me). She has a lot of background with dogs of all types and adapted to both my pups very quickly. When I tell my dogs that Michelle is on the way they’re pacing around the house excited and waiting for her!

Cortney is amazing with our high energy puppy who absolutely adores her. Cortney is very responsive, and inquired about our dog and her likes when meeting prior to her first walk. She provided feedback after the walk which was appreciated. We will definitely be relying more on Cortney to help with walks, and certainly recommend her to anyone who may need someone for walking their dog or for visits.

About: I've work in multiple animal hospitals taking care of range of ages of pets from senior to barely a week old kittens. I understand the gentle nature you must have when taking care of your fur babies. My neighbor has a beautiful 16 year old cat that I take care of and at times he can have some accidents and I always do my best not just cleaning up the mess but also bathing him to make sure he stays nice a clean. Family friends have put their trust in me for taking care of their senior German shepherd while on vacation making sure she got the attention and the proper exercise while away. Each pet is unique and have their own special requirements, some need to run for miles, other's are couch potatoes and I'm capable of meeting either needs. Whether it's a nice jog or stroll, learning/reinforcing commands. I also understand that some dogs can be anxious and need time to warm up to knew people or have routines that help ease them. With my work in clinics I experienced working one on one with anxious rescues and learned how to work with them to help making them more comfortable with strangers in the clinic. At the end of the day I want to give you pets the best experience I can and treat them like my own while they're in my care. I have a very flexible schedule at the moment giving me plenty of time to take care of your fur babies, even evening too rain or shine. I'd first want to know if there's and house rules for your pets (no siting on the couch, certain areas of the house that could be off limits, timing for if they go in a crate at night). I'd want to spend as much time as I could with them getting their energy out or if their more the type to lay with you on the couch. I would always amke sure their water bowl stays full and make sure they dont get into anything while you're gone. I'd also could take garbage and recycling out if needed while you're away.

About: I’ve been around pets for most of my life, and caring for animals has always been something I truly enjoy. I grew up with my Miniature Schnauzer, who was part of my family for 18 years, and that experience taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of giving pets love and attention. Today, I have my own cat and have also helped care for my partner’s cat for several years. Through these experiences, I’ve learned that every pet has their own personality, routines, and needs. What sets me apart is the genuine care and dedication I provide. I enjoy keeping pets active through walks, playtime, and exercise, while also making sure they feel comfortable and secure. I am comfortable following specific feeding routines, providing companionship, maintaining cleanliness, and respecting each owner’s instructions. Whether your pet is energetic, playful, shy, or simply needs some extra attention while you’re away, I will treat them with the same patience, respect, and care I would want for my own pets. Pet care is something I genuinely enjoy and I am excited to dedicate more time to providing reliable, high-quality care for pets and their families. My schedule allows me to be flexible and plan my time around pet visits, walks, feeding routines, and companionship. I understand how important consistency is for pets, so I make it a priority to follow their normal routines and provide dependable care. Whether your pet needs exercise, playtime, attention, or simply someone to keep them company, I enjoy making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you’re away. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for any pet. I understand that pets are family, and I treat every animal with patience, respect, and attention. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make sure to follow their instructions carefully, maintain their normal routines, keep their environment clean, and provide updates so owners can feel confident while they are away. For walks and visits, I focus on safety by paying attention to each pet’s personality, comfort level, and energy needs. I make sure they receive proper exercise, supervision, and positive interaction. If caring for pets in my own home, I provide a calm, clean, and comfortable environment where pets can feel secure. I always respect each pet’s individual needs and make sure they receive the same care and attention I would want for my own.

About: Hey, my name is Lucas! I wanted to expand my love for animals by pet sitting on Rover and have fun. I’ve grown up with many dogs; most of which have been beagles, and I currently own a cat that I have had for over 5 years. I have been trusted by family and friends to walk, feed, play with, and look after their pets for as long as I can remember. I have also contributed my time at the local humane society :) I am a full-time university student and part-time restaurant worker, and would like to help out your pet in the morning or late at night! I have a large fenced backyard for your pet to enjoy, and I have one friendly cat in the house. The inside is clean, safe, and spacious. I look forward to welcoming and caring for your pet(s)!

About: I have a 9 year old shorkie and live with my sisters 5 year old aussie doodle as well. I love to shower dogs with love and affection and give them lots of walks. I have been dog sitting for as long as I can remember for family friends, and have experience with a wide variety of temperaments. I am very patient and caring to all animals. I’m working from home and for myself, so I have a flexible schedule to look after your pet, and a car to get to them. I take my own dogs for two 30 minute walks every morning and evening. I clean their bowls daily and make sure they always have water. I also love doing a puzzle with them every day to keep their minds active.

About: I have had animals of all varieties my whole life. I've always been the primary care taker for my animals growing up, from birds, to lizards to dogs and more! I worked in the pet industry for several years and truly enjoy working with animals. I offer 1-on-1 walks and drop-in visits, especially for those times you’re stuck at work all day! I have experience with reactive, anxious, and high energy dogs and can ensure I provide them a safe walking experience to fit their needs. I have had cared for senior dogs and cats, as well as those with daily medications and special diets. If there are any requests for special accommodations just shoot me a message and we can chat more about how I can meet your pet care goals! I'm currently not working as I freshly graduated nursing school! Taking the summer off to study for my exam and looking to spend that time caring for clients and potentially continuing long-term if it’s a good fit! If an animal has any special feeding needs I am able to feed them in separate spaces as needed.

Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in Kitchener. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighbourhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

Tip: Keep in mind that many cities in Canada require your dog walker to have a permit or licence for group walks.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance travelled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Kitchener.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits, dog walking, and doggy day care. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find walkers in Kitchener with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kitchener choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 83% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
