“Due to extenuating circumstances, I was quite a bit late to pick up my pooch. April was very accommodating and returned our dog happy and worn out from playing. 5 stars, would definitely recommend.”

“Ashlynn was AMAZING!! needed a sitter for my 7 month old puppy (who has lots of energy). she took him to the dog park a couple times, took pictures of him playing throughout the whole day & texted me with updates! very sweet girl too”
“This was the second time we left Teddy with Oceana! She was very accommodating and quick to respond! Teddy was excited to go back! She also sent a picture as well of our happy boy! We will use her again in the future!”

“I recently had the pleasure of hiring Jacklyn to take care of my dog, Hazel Grace, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Jacklyn was incredibly professional, punctual, and caring, making both Hazel Grace and me feel at ease. From the moment we met, it was clear that she had a genuine love for animals. She took the time to understand Hazel’s routine, preferences, and any specific needs. Hazel Grace is usually quite shy around new people, but Jacklyn’s warm and gentle approach quickly won her over. During the time Jacklyn looked after Hazel, she provided regular updates, including photos, which reassured me that everything was going well. It was evident that Jacklyn was not only ensuring Hazel was fed and exercised, but also showering them with affection and attention. I was particularly impressed with Jacklyn’s attention to detail. When I returned, Hazel was happy, healthy, and clearly well-cared for. Overall, I highly recommend Jacklyn to anyone in need of a reliable and compassionate dog sitter. Her dedication and love for animals truly shine through in her work. Thank you, Jacklyn for taking such wonderful care of Hazel Grace!”

“Nikki and her husband were amazing with our dog, Oliver!! He’s typically nervous, but they were so patient and kind towards him. He had a great time! If you’re nervous about booking a dog sitter, you can’t go wrong with this duo!!!!”

About: My family and I are Christians. I was making plans to get my son a dog once he started working this summer. His big sister, who is now 20, worked at Ripleys Aquarium before she joined the Airforce a year ago. He wants a job there this summer just so he can learn more about animals. He is a natural around dogs and other animals. He is an honor role student who wants to be a vet one day. While I was out walking in my neighborhood, I ran into a sweet lady who told us about Rover.com. I thought how perfect is that. We get the love and warmth of a dog, and I will be able to teach my beloved son about responsibility and helping others. Your dog will get the love and care that you would expect and will be completely safe with us. The last dog I owned was a Staffordshire Terrier. We loved him. His resting place is in my home Bermuda.
“Stefanie was an absolute lifesaver for me. I needed to find someone last minute for doggy daycare for both my 6 month old puppy and 6.5 year old dog. Not only did I reach out to her last minute on a Saturday night, but she responded only a couple minutes later and was super accommodating. She took my dogs in like they were her own when I arrived. She sent me photos and shared their experience throughout the day which made me so happy to know they were having such a good time with her and the other dogs at her home. My dogs slept for 12 hours after 1 day of play at Stefanie’s. I highly recommend her. My dogs will be returning here regularly!☺️”

“Kelly and family welcomed Ace as one of their own. Great pictures of all of them in the park, on a walk, lounging in the house…. I’m sure he’ll be thrilled for a return visit”

“Today, My Cockapoo, Mitzi spent her 1st day at Laura’s house. Mitzi came home very happy & Laura told me she did well. She sent me a picture of Mitzi hanging out with her on her couch. She has a pet friendly house with many safety features & a fenced in yard for playtime. She also kept the communication between us open which I appreciated. Since relocating to SC from NJ this past Spring, Mitzi hasn’t been with anyone except me & my husband so I am very pleased! I’m so grateful to have found Laura!”

BEST SITTER EVER!!!!! This was my first time leaving my baby Toaster with a sitter in a new town where I didn’t know anyone. From the first message, Gabriella made us feel like family!! She met us to come pick him up on short notice and sent us pictures of our sweet baby the whole time!! She has some babies of her own and they were so sweet to our toaster and he had the absolute best time!!! I would leave my actual child with Gabriella, she is that amazing!!! If you are looking for a sitter, look no further, trust me, she will take care of your baby so well that you’ll want to grab drinks with her after!! 10000000000000/10 recommend!!!!! Thank you so so so so so much Gabriella!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

McKenzie was such an amazing dog sitter for our girl! She kept us up to date on everything they did, and even took her to the dog park! she cared so much for her! I would definitely recommend her to others looking for a pet sitter while they are on vacation! Our dog loved her as well!

Gabriella was wonderful! She took great care of our baby during the day while we were on vacation at Myrtle beach. She sent us pictures and videos and even gave us some advice on leash training. She made sure our pup had a good time, ate all her food and used the potty while we had some mommy daddy time. We will definitely book again! ❤️

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Bucksport commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
