“Tyson was well taken care of while we were on vacation for a week. Renee sent me photos everyday showing how spoiled he was getting! He had an amazing time and was exhausted after I picked him up. Thank you!”
“Snowflake's first visit with Barbara was so great! Barbara provided treats, brushing, nail clipping, and wound care in addition to excellent overall care with great communication and lots of photos.”
“Couldn't have asked for a better place for our pup to stay! Nat and Ally (and their kiddos) were absolutely fabulous. So loving, attentive, and treated my dog as a part of the family while he was in their care. They sent frequent updates and photos which provided great peace of mind. Our dog got plenty of walks and significant playtime in their big back yard with their pup, Meeple. I will be booking with them anytime we need care for our dog in the future! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a loving, responsible boarding option for their pup!”
“If you’re looking for a dog sitter, look no further than John and Jess! They are a fantastic dynamic duo—responsive, accommodating, and great at keeping you updated with pictures and videos. My doodle had a wonderful time, and I will definitely be bringing my dog back in the future. Highly recommend!”
“Leah was just fantastic! I had a situation arise that precipitated the need to find someplace for my two boys a.s.a.p. and I am so thankful she was available. She treated them like her own, and they got along well with her two little fur babies too. They must've had a LOT of fun pn her beautiful property because they basically slept for the next 24 hours. So happy to have found Leah and it's great that she is so close too.”
“Terri had great communication and we were able to do a meet and greet before the stay. She sent us great pictures and updates and would greatly recommend her to watch your pets!”
“Jaclyn always takes such great care of our girl! She comes back happy (and exhausted from playing hard) and Jaclyn sends us tons of updates and pictures throughout her stay. Definitely recommend!”
“Ashley and Ryan were amazing! They are truly dog people and your dogs will have the best experience at their home. Our dogs loved running around their huge backyard with their sweet pups. If they weren’t running around outside they were lounging on the couch or one of the many dog beds available. They sent many pictures throughout our dogs stay. We felt very at ease knowing our dogs were in such good hands. Thank you Ashley and Ryan! I know our dogs can’t wait to come back!”
“Wow! My family and I felt and knew we left our pups in great hands with Michelle. She sent daily updates and photos. One photo looked like my dog was literally smiling. I would book again in a heartbeat with Michelle!”
“We recently moved to NOVA from Midlothian and had to find a new Rover Ally to watch our 2 sweet Goldens- We used someone who lived in the same town and it did not go well at all so we were very nervous about leaving them again with anyone else. I can hands down say this was one of our best Rover experiences ever!! Joel and Janelle have a beautiful place with a large grassy fenced yard! They sent periodic incredible “action” pictures and our Goldens did not seemed stressed at all when we picked them up. We are looking forward to our stay with them early next month.”
“Mandie was AMAZING! I 110% recommend her for your pet sitting needs! This was our first time leaving our girl Nova for an extended period of time and she made it the most comfortable experience. She sent pictures and videos daily which eased our mind so much! She is very active with the dogs she watches and her own! She worked on commands with my dog and her home was very dog friendly! We couldn’t have picked a better sitter for our dog Nova!”
“Maki and Joel and their family took great care of Ragnar. They treated him as part of the family and that really made me feel comfortable. I can’t thank and recommend them enough!”
“Alex was AMAZING! First, I contacted him on short notice because my dog sitter had a medical emergency. He responded quickly to all my questions, and eased my nerves during drop off. Second, he did great with both my dog babies despite their personality differences. My Kobe is a puppy and super hyper. She can be a lot for some people but Alex was great with her from the second she met him. My Harry is an older dog and likes to be cuddled and one on one loving. Harry is a dog who loves people and doesn’t really like to mingle with other dogs. Alex met the needs of both. Third, the communication was great. My dog babies were with Alex for a week and he sent me periodic updates throughout the week. I appreciated the information and pictures he shared with me. In summary, this experience was amazing. I did not worry about my dog babies at all and would highly recommend Alex to anyone who is looking for quality care. Alex will be our go to sitter when my family and I go out of town without our dog babies.”
“Sarah was a fabulous host with a beautiful fenced in yard and home. She sent photos of Rocky and her kids which were so cute. Great communication throughout the stay and super convenient to wineries, tap rooms and Historic Rosemont Manor. Would highly recommend!”
“Maria and Brian were incredible sitters for our dog Felix. They have a warm, inviting home and clearly care very much for the dogs they are watching. Our 6 month old shepherd mix has a ton of energy - he was clearly well exercised he came home so tired! We received regular updates and our dog was so happy to be there that he didn't want to leave! We will definitely be using them again and we highly recommend them for a loving home away from home for your pup. Thank you Maria, Brian (and kids!) for loving our dog as he were a part of your family!”
“Floki seemed to have had a good time with Jesse. I like that she sent so many pictures and updates. I think that my dog was in a safe environment and cared for while I was away.”
“Ali was wonderful with Penny, we received daily photos and communication for two weeks. Penny felt right at home, she looked happy, relaxed and well taken care of. Penny came home bathed and with a a sweet note and new toy. We have found Penny’s home away from home and will be rebooking soon. Highly recommend Ali to take care of your fur babies.”
“Thank you Miranda for taking such great care of my corgi. The regular updates with photos were a great comfort knowing my 4 footed friend was safe and having a great time!”

Leah was absolutely amazing with our two dogs! From the moment we dropped them off, it was clear they were treated like part of the family. She provided a warm, caring environment that made them feel completely at home, and we had total peace of mind while we were away. We came back to two happy, relaxed pups, which says everything about the level of care she provides. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Leah to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Brownsville home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Brownsville.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Brownsville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
