“My little dog Toto clearly had a blast hanging out with Sarah and Ross and his new dog friends. They are accommodating with pickup and drop off and sent lots of updates to me throughout Toto’s stay. Toto seemed so relaxed and happy at pickup. Definitely would use their services again, happy customer and happy pup.”

About: I am an animal lover to the max. I have been a pet sitter for some years now and have enjoyed it all from training young pets to caring for our more senior animals. I am currently working from home, so I have plenty of time to care for your pets and tend to their needs. I would be happy to bring your pet along with me in my day to day. I have an unfenced, private yard and a puppy to keep your pets company. I can crate your dog if needed, and I have ample space to give them whatever space they need to feel comfortable.
“Our puppy had a fantastic time at Debbie’s—happy and tired after a fun day! Debbie communicated well, was easy to work with, and took excellent care of our dog. We recommend Debbie strongly and will be having our pup stay there again.”

“Our pup loved Zydae and her 2 dogs. A very balanced and sweet bunch who took our dog Mars in just like one of their own. He was eager to arrive for day care each day. We appreciated the help and the loving touch.”

“Stephanie is a fantastic sitter! She has kept my nine-year-old Maltipoo, Happy, several times. Each time, Stephanie went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and to ensure that Happy felt right at home. Even her poodle, Sammy, was the perfect "little host' and is now Happy's new BFF. The photo updates that Stephanie sent me throughout the day always brought smiles to my face as I could see how much Happy was enjoying himself as he and Sammy explored her lovely fenced backyard or sat together staring outside. I am so pleased to have found such a wonderful and safe "home away from home" for my little fur baby.”

“Becky provided great care for my puppy Milo! She communicated well setting up the day care appointment and gave me frequent updates during the day. She made me and my dog few comfortable and I would highly recommend her!”

“It was my pup’s first time with a sitter. He’s usually nervous around new people. But not here, he was peppy and playful coming home. The next time going he ran right in like a reunion with old pals. Very impressed.”

“This was a last minute book and we couldn’t be more pleased. Sarah was great communicating with me since my schedule changed after booking and Cotde was so well taken care of. We will definitely use them again.”

“Meredith has been an absolute hidden treasure!! I had been looking for somebody to watch my puppy for me while I was work for weeks. For one reason or another, I just couldn’t find anybody who could help me. I came across Meredith’s profile and I decided to reach out and I have had nothing but a good experience ever since!!! Meredith is an extremely kind person with a wonderful personality. She has been so accommodating with her time and was absolutely unafraid to open up her home to my new puppy. She has done nothing but lavish love and affection on my Ava. I don’t worry at all when she is with Meredith because I know that she is in great hands and getting the best care. About: As it usually goes, growing up my family always owned dogs, from German Shepherds to Chihuahua mixes. I follow up my personal experience with 6 years of professional experience working at various dog boarding/daycare facilities and veterinary hospitals. Before moving to North Carolina, I lived in Iowa where 3 years ago I was given the opportunity to a apprenticeship at Fowl Water Outdoors, afterwards I was then given the opportunity to a job training at Lakota Creek Kennels. Since moving to NC I had been able to fill the role of assistant trainer at Spence Canine Academy in Oak Ridge, NC. Along with my background, I am pet CPR/first aid certified and able to provide a background check along with several references. I have four of my own pets. Zeus, a 6 year old German Shepherd who I have dabbled in fast CAT and AKC scent work with. Zeppy, a 1 year old Belgian Malinois I am training in the bite sport of PSA with. LaRue, a 6 month old Standard Poodle who has big shoes to fill as a hunting companion. And Maly, my 1 year old Siamese cat. Previously I owned a Dutch Shepherd who I trained in the bite sport of PSA with as well, I am certainly partial to the Shepherds. In my teen years I owned a few rabbits, a couple Mini Lops, an English Angora, and would love the opportunity to care for rabbits again! Big or small, dogs to bunnies, they are loved all the same and I look forward to taking care of your beloved pets! Currently my schedule is wide open for dog walking, adventure walks, and drop-in visits from 7am-9pm Monday through Friday, as well as boarding! I have a 2 bedroom townhome without a fenced yard so dogs are required to be leashed. However we will still get plenty of exercise in through play, walks, and on leash hikes! Having a spare bedroom allows me to easily accommodate pets who may not get along with others, or simply enjoy having their own private, calm, and quiet space.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
