About: I've had pets for most of my life and have cared for pets of all ages, from energetic puppies and kittens to senior pets who need extra patience and attention. I'm comfortable maintaining routines, providing plenty of exercise and playtime, and making sure pets feel safe and cared for while their owners are away. I also understand the importance of consistency with young pets and can help reinforce good habits and routines. For senior pets, I'm happy to provide the extra care, patience, and attention they may need. I'm currently home from college and work part time at a local elementary school until their summer starts. I am available most days of the week and at most hours. I follow their normal routine as closely as possible to help their pets feel comfortable and secure. I make sure they have fresh food and water, clean up after them, provide playtime, exercise, and plenty of attention based on their individual needs and personality. For cats, I keep litter boxes clean, spend time playing or socializing with them, and make sure they have a calm, stress-free environment.
“Mike was great. I was the anxious mom leaving my puppy for the first time. Not only did Wish have a great time but I was able to enjoy myself after Mike sent me photos not long after I left reassuring how well she was doing.”

About: I have taken care and loved all ages of dogs my whole life. From owning them to watching the neighbors and friends. I have also worked in a professional setting for about 5+ years and have had experience caring for all different breeds and their specific individual needs. In addition, I have training experience with Penn Vet Working Dog Center as well as some classes I attended at a training school! I’m grateful for all the experiences I’ve had and all the ones waiting to be had! I have currently care for 3 different types of animals (cat, gecko, and turtle!) I did have a dog as well however she sadly passed recently. I am able to crate dogs as well as provide medications and keep up with dietary restrictions. I am able to walk as well as play and spend time with the pups! For cats I am able to scoop litter and give as many or as little cuddles as the cat may enjoy! I’m good with feeding as well as administering meds to cats
“We had a great experience with Heather taking care of our cats while we were away. She was able to visit them a couple times a day, which really put our mind at ease. Heather was prompt, reliable, and communicated clearly throughout our trip. Highly recommend!”

“Jennifer has checked on our pup Ryder a few times and she is great! Good communication and you can tell she really adores our dog. Will definitely use her in the future!”

“si yeon was responsive and on time! she played with my furbaby and made sure she got attention and cuddled with her 🐾🐶 it was kind of last second to find an at-home sitter but thankfully si yeon was available and nearby 🥹 thank you again!!”

“Amanda was amazing with our 2 pups. Both my dogs were so calm and took right to Amanda. Amanda sent pictures with every visit and communication was spot on. We needed someone at last minute and Amanda was very accommodating. Will definitely be using her services in the near future.”

About: I've been walking dogs of all sizes for about 7 years now in different ways and I have to say I've never met I dog I haven't become immediate best friends with. I love to take the dogs on their favorite trails, and play if they still have energy after. They will always have water provided and a treat at the end of each visit, with lots of pets and snuggles in between. With my previous experience I feel comfortable with any size dog, and can handle different behaviors as well. Though every visit can seem repetitive, if something unexpected occurs I know the best routes to handle any situation that may come up. I think it's important to think on your feet, even if you only have two. ;) I’m currently working part time as a dog walker and working towards finishing my undergrad degree in college. I am doing classes online this summer. I do not have the ability to care for pets at my home at this time. My current living situation is unsuitable for strange dogs to come stay.
“I cannot recommend Blythe highly enough. My dog, Bodog, is currently recovering from surgery, and she has been absolutely incredible throughout the process. She responded to my request immediately at 7am and was able to come the very same day at 4pm. Her communication was excellent from start to finish, and the photo updates gave me complete peace of mind while Bodog was in her care. It was clear she treated him with genuine compassion, patience, and attention during a very important time in his recovery. I truly could not have been happier with the care she provided, and I look forward to continuing to work with her as Bodog heals. Highly recommend to anyone looking for someone dependable, professional, and caring.”

“Morgan took exceptional care of our cat while we were away! Her updates were detailed and very thoughtful. We loved all the pictures too! Our family truly appreciates the care she provides!”

About: It wasn't until 2012 when I rented a home with a fenced yard that I adopted my first canine companion. Prior to that time, I always lived with cats and was the friend people thought of when they needed someone to do house and pet-sitting. I sat with quite a few small dogs, as well as a giant pit bull named Miles and a sweet special needs senior lab named Boogie. In my rural home on 3 acres are two 20 pound terriers named Jack and Sadie. They do not have a fenced yard to run around in, but always get at least three good walks each day (locally, on trails, dog parks). They're extremely bonded and are good with other small dogs and cats.
“Savanah is great! She has a good rapport with the dogs, who seem to really like her, and she's very conscientious. She also communicates well: she responds promptly and does a great job of taking photos and sending updates. Highly recommend.”

About: I had 3 dogs of my own over the years. I have done dog sitting, walking, and driving to daycare and grooming for my neighbors and friends. I’m currently working part-time but I am an empty nester so I have a very flexible schedule to play and take care of your pets. I will follow the owner’s instructions on how they would like me to care for their pet while in their home and outside their home.

About: Currently the "sister" to a six year old Cavapoo dog whom I have pet sat multiple times in my home for my parents. I have helped walk my neighbor's rescue dog (who has anxiety, but seems to get along well with me). I was a regular cat sitter for a family friend (responsibilities included twice daily feeding, cleaning of the litter box, and making sure he was let in and out of the house). I truly believe our pets are furry family members who deserve all the love and personal care, so rest assured your fluffy (or fuzzy) friend will be in good hands with me! I am a recent college graduate with a flexible schedule. In addition to my experience with dogs and cats, I also owned a Betta fish who lived for four years. I am responsible for the care of the family dog when my parents are out of town. This includes everything from walking and feeding to playtime and couch nap supervision (which he loves). I lovingly refer to him as my four-legged baby brother and treat him accordingly! (Not currently offering boarding.)
“I really appreciate Maya’s patience with Oreo. She took her time with the overly excited dog and built a relationship with her, and I definitely book her again! I’m glad Oreo has a new friend!”

“Amazing. I feel less stressed booking future trips knowing I can count on Kaliah to take thoughtful care of my very anxious cats. Both cats took to her right away and that is not usual for either of them. She did a wonderful job. I’m so grateful!”

“Cathy was all I could have hoped for in a caregiver for my sweet kitty. She was loving and followed my directions carefully. Philly was happy to see me when I got home, but calm and content. She had eaten her normal amount of food and Cathy sent pics of Philly playing! The pics were very reassuring. Thank you Cathy.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 4,644 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Broad Axe. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Broad Axe. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
