About: Originally from upstate NY, I spent time working as a professional veterinary assistant in Atlanta, GA while in school. In this role, I worked directly under a veterinarian to monitor, clean, and provide medical check-ups for dogs at local pet centers, while also providing care for other animals at a boarding and daycare resort. With this hands-on experience, I am deeply familiar with dog health, sanitization, and administering medications. I enjoy spending time with dogs, understand how to spot early signs of illness, and know how to keep dogs on a fun and healthy routine. Since moving back to upstate NY, I do part-time work as a tech consultant from home. This allows me to give plenty of attention to your pet, while also providing plenty of outdoor activities. My wife also works from home, which allows her the flexibility to help as well. Our house is situated right next to the D&H Canal trail, and we take regular walks on a daily basis.Whether your dog is a growing puppy who needs attentive care or an older dog who requires a reliable, experienced handler, my top priority is maintaining their health, safety, and happiness while you are away. My wife and I both work part-time from home, which gives us highly flexible schedules to prioritize your pet's care throughout the week. Our daily routine naturally includes multiple walks along the scenic D&H Canal trail, which directly borders our property. Because our work keeps us at home, guest pets enjoy consistent supervision, frequent potty breaks, and plenty of playful companionship. Our home sits far back from the road at the end of a long driveway, offering a very quiet, safe environment. We sit on 10 acres of land, featuring 3 groomed acres for supervised play and 7 acres of private woods. While our yard is only partially fenced, we have two large, fully enclosed decks that are completely fenced in—perfect for safe sunbathing, lounging, and secure outdoor activities. We also utilize a collapsible fence that we can pull out and set up to create customized secure boundaries if necessary. For exercise, dogs are strictly supervised and kept on-leash as we head down the driveway to our private access point for the D&H Canal trail, keeping them completely away from traffic.

About: I have experience working with dogs of all sizes, ages, and care needs both in a professional setting and as a pet owner! At my previous doggy daycare job, I walked, fed, administered medication to, and boarded with dogs. I also have cared for cats for 3 years and have some experience caring for birds (and absolutely love them! particularly cockatiels and conures) I currently am a full time student and have 2 days off during the work week thanks to online classes, so more time to care for pets! I live in a large apartment with no personal pets. Dogs would be crated when I’m in class (only a few hours a day, less than 6 usually) and free to roam when I’m home, with at least 2 relief walks a day. I have one female roommate who is also experienced in caring for dogs, but I will be the only one responsible for the dog’s care. Care at a client’s home would all depend on their personal preferences! I am comfortable sleeping over for any type of pet.

This is the first time we used Rover and it was a very good experience. Linda took excellent care of our dog and 2 cats as well as our home. She checked in with pictures at each visit which enabled us to enjoy our vacation knowing our pets were in good hands. We will definitely ask Linda again to care for our pets in the future.

About: I've taken care of dogs, cats, and other pets since I was a little girl. I grew up with cats and dogs (also guinea pigs, birds) and I have a knack for showing them compassionate care and love. They make it easy! I've cared for very young puppies and kittens as well as older animals. I am familiar with medication needs as well as every day care. I'm very detail oriented and take pride in my work! I'd love to help you give the best care possible for your furry family members. I'm an artist and musician so my schedule is flexible! I often need breaks and have time during the day and some nights as well. Nothing better than taking a break to spend time with furry friends, care for them, and brighten their day. I am happy to follow any schedules, needs, or requirements you may have in order to best care for your pet. I am accustomed to pet walking and play, feeding times, rest time, fun times together.

Jennifer is great with animals! She took great care of my cats and dog while I was away. I was worried about how she’d handle my big rowdy dog, but she was so reassuring and has a lot of experience handling big dogs! She’s also very nice in general! I will definitely recommend and use her services again! ?

About: I love animals and have always had cats and dogs for pets. My last pet, a dog named Colby passed 2 years ago and I am still so heartbroken I have not yet gotten a new dog because I am afraid of going through losing a pet again. I feel that sharing my love and caring for someone's dog will clear that worry from my mind and open me up to adopting a new best friend. I am retired so I will be home 24/7 to care for the dogs. I have a big yard so dogs in my care will get plenty of exercise and fresh air. I also have a deck so we'll be able to relax and have a snack in the sunshine. I own my home and it sits on an acre of land so there is plenty of room.I am retired so I am home 24/7. There are really not too many restrictions in my house. I usually close a few doors to other rooms so I know what and where the dog is doing at all times.

About: I have more than 10 years of experience volunteering for animal shelters and working with dogs! I’ve worked as a kennel assistant and bather/groomer with dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and breeds, including puppies, seniors and disabled dogs. I also have experience in overnight pet sitting as well as drop-ins, caring for cats and dogs alike of relatives and family friends. Anyone who knows me, knows I light up the moment I see a dog, and I love the connection I quickly build with almost every animal I meet. I strive for meticulous attention to detail and upmost care. As a highly sensitive person, I am very attuned to how your pet is feeling and aim to make them feel comfortable and happy. I’d love to become your pet’s new friend! I am available most weekdays; I also run my own business so my schedule is flexible. Weekends are tricky but weekend evenings can be a possibility, if needed! About: I take pride in my work and strive to treat each and every animal I care for as I would my own personal pets. I personally understand how difficult it can be to trust someone with your furry family members and do my best to make the experience as amazing as possible for both pets and pet parents. I have worked in the pet care industry for over ten years now. I began dog walking in NYC, then managed a luxury boarding/daycare facility for dogs in East Syracuse. Since then I have also branched out into working in animal rescue as well. I also am currently pursuing a certification in dog training. I currently work for myself so my hours are flexible. I can accommodate dog walking most mornings, afternoons and nights. I currently offer in home boarding but limit it to three dogs per night to ensure the best quality of care. I understand that allowing someone into your home to care for your pet can be nerve racking, so I strive to be as mindful of this as possible. Some of the ways I ensure I do this are by speaking with the client before hand to go over anything specific they need done, entering the home in a safe and respectful manner, greeting the pet I'm caring for with enthusiasm, creating a bond with them & making the experience as fun and stress free as possible.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bloomingburg. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
