At all times she was communicative, caring and purposeful in her interactions with Hygge, who probably worried about being in a new home away from home for a few days on many levels. My transportation plans were delayed due to a severe storm that prevented my scheduled pick up, and Andrea was patient, reasonable and loving during my own stress about being stuck in NYC beyond my control for the pick up of my dog after traveling for a few days. She worked with me every step of the way, and the boarding experience was a total success even with transportation issues. “Chaqutia looked after my pup, Ralph, for just over a week. I was nervous about leaving him for such a long period of time especially as he was unwell. Chaqutia put my mind at ease instantly and sent updates multiple times throughout the day of both photos and videos as well as a report of how he did with his food and confirming he took his meds. Any questions I had or suggestions I made, she responded to promptly. She’s a very kind and caring person and also very responsible with things like a camera set up in the room dogs sleep in to check on throughout the night. About: When I was a little girl, I read the warrior cat series and fell in love with cats. I decided I had to have one. It took me over two years to convince my parents, but once I got my first (a five year that had been abandoned at the shelter on Christmas) I was hooked. I love every cat, not just my own. Eventually even the most aloof, unfriendly, feral old curmudgeon of a kitty has my respect. I will never force a cat that doesn't want to be bothered to give me attention. That said, I'm very good at doing towel burritos around them if they do need to get a nail trimming or insulin injection. I love to play with them and find new ways to give them enrichment. I really believe cats deserve the attention and commitment dogs do.

About: I have lived with dogs my entire life and I had helped with the puppy stage for two dogs in the last 5 years. My family got a German Shepherd puppy 5 years ago and then we decided he needed a friend so I helped with a new puppy who’s a Beagle just this past fall. I also have had recent jobs where responsibility was a necessity as I was a para educator with special needs kids over the summer. I’m currently a college student so my weekdays are pretty busy with classes and trying to keep up with school work but I could be free on the weekends depending. At home I help with feeding my dogs, one of my dogs has epilepsy so I’m familiar with giving medications, I also help to walk them and love to play with them to help them get their energy out. I have also helped friends and siblings with watching their pets when needed.

About: I have experience with many different dog breeds with different energy and health needs. I give all of the animals under my care the same treatment. I would take care of a super senior cat with the same dedication I would a golden retriever puppy. I'm not squeamish at all either, I'm comfortable dealing with body fluids and administering injection and medications. I have volunteered at multiple animal shelters so i've seen it all! Currently, my only commitments are helping to babysit younger family members, which is flexible schedule and only part-time. I have lots of time to not only take care of your animals, but also play with them and give them good entertainment My own dog is a runner, so I am hypervigilant about making sure animals don't dart out doors. At all times she was communicative, caring and purposeful in her interactions with Hygge, who probably worried about being in a new home away from home for a few days on many levels. My transportation plans were delayed due to a severe storm that prevented my scheduled pick up, and Andrea was patient, reasonable and loving during my own stress about being stuck in NYC beyond my control for the pick up of my dog after traveling for a few days. She worked with me every step of the way, and the boarding experience was a total success even with transportation issues. “Chaqutia looked after my pup, Ralph, for just over a week. I was nervous about leaving him for such a long period of time especially as he was unwell. Chaqutia put my mind at ease instantly and sent updates multiple times throughout the day of both photos and videos as well as a report of how he did with his food and confirming he took his meds. Any questions I had or suggestions I made, she responded to promptly. She’s a very kind and caring person and also very responsible with things like a camera set up in the room dogs sleep in to check on throughout the night. She was flexible with both pick up and drop off times and really listened to our needs Her home is beautiful, large and on a very quiet secluded road which was reassuring as less traffic. Her family are truly lovely and her eldest child played with Ralph lots (particularly loved those videos) Would definitely use Chaqutia again and recommend her to others!”

About: Originally from upstate NY, I spent time working as a professional veterinary assistant in Atlanta, GA while in school. In this role, I worked directly under a veterinarian to monitor, clean, and provide medical check-ups for dogs at local pet centers, while also providing care for other animals at a boarding and daycare resort. Our house is situated right next to the D&H Canal trail, and we take regular walks on a daily basis.Whether your dog is a growing puppy who needs attentive care or an older dog who requires a reliable, experienced handler, my top priority is maintaining their health, safety, and happiness while you are away. My wife and I both work part-time from home, which gives us highly flexible schedules to prioritize your pet's care throughout the week. Our daily routine naturally includes multiple walks along the scenic D&H Canal trail, which directly borders our property. Because our work keeps us at home, guest pets enjoy consistent supervision, frequent potty breaks, and plenty of playful companionship. Our home sits far back from the road at the end of a long driveway, offering a very quiet, safe environment. We sit on 10 acres of land, featuring 3 groomed acres for supervised play and 7 acres of private woods. While our yard is only partially fenced, we have two large, fully enclosed decks that are completely fenced in—perfect for safe sunbathing, lounging, and secure outdoor activities. We also utilize a collapsible fence that we can pull out and set up to create customized secure boundaries if necessary. For exercise, dogs are strictly supervised and kept on-leash as we head down the driveway to our private access point for the D&H Canal trail, keeping them completely away from traffic.

I will use a crate if an owner requests it because that is what their dog is accustomed to at home. I limit boarding to a maximum of three guest dogs at a time so I can provide close supervision and personalized attention.
