Rules and restrictions
Be sure to review this information before your trip and plan accordingly. And remember that all airlines have different restrictions, so read each airline’s rules before you book a new trip.
- Pets can travel in the main cabin on domestic flights within Argentina and on flights within Schengen and/or EU (excluding UK and Ireland).
- Pets can travel in baggage hold on the following flights: Flights to/from Svalbard (dogs only), flights within Schengen and/or EU (UK and Ireland excluded), and domestic flights within Argentina.
- Pets allowed in main cabin: small cats and dogs.
- Pets allowed in baggage hold: cats and dogs.
- If traveling with a brachycephalic breed, you must sign a lease form to acknowledge the risks associated with air travel for your pet. (Brachycephalic breeds are those with a shortened head and nose, and flat face such as pugs, shih tzus, and Chihuahuas. They typically have trouble breathing, which flying can exacerbate.)
Fees
Keep these extra costs in mind when traveling with pets.
Pet in cabin: 45-60 GBP (online), 55 – 75 GBP (airport), per animal, each way. Generally, in-cabin crates should be soft-sided and fit under the plane seat in front of you.
Pet in baggage hold: 60-80 GBP (online), 75-90 GBP (airport), per animal, each way. For cargo crates, the ASPCA says that crates should be large enough for your pet to sit, stand, and turn around in.
