Pet Policy
Rules and restrictions
Be sure to review this information before your trip and plan accordingly. And remember that all airlines have different restrictions, so read each airline’s rules before you book a new trip.
- International policy: Pets are not allowed in the cabin in Business Class on international flights.
- Pets allowed in main cabin: small cats and dogs on flights within Europe. Total weight of your pet and travel bag or kennel combined may be max. 8 kg (18 lbs). Your pet must travel in a suitable pet travel bag of max. 46 x 28 x 24 cm (L x W x H). Your pet must be able to stand up and lay down comfortably.
- Pets allowed in baggage hold: cats and dogs. Total weight of your pet and kennel combined may be max. 75 kg (165 lbs). For cargo crates, the ASPCA says that crates should be large enough for your pet to sit, stand, and turn around in.
- Pets not allowed for travel in hold or as cargo: English and French bulldogs, Boston terriers, and pugs.
Additional tips to prepare pets for travel:
- Allow five days before the flight for your pet to get used to their crate.
- Do not allow your pet to drink or eat for two hours before departure. Walk your dog just before departure.
- We strongly advise against tranquilizing your pet. It will take longer to get accustomed to new surroundings, and your pet’s temperature may drop during the flight. Tranquilizing your pet should only be done in consultation with a veterinarian.
Fees
