Pet Policy
Rules and restrictions
Be sure to review this information before your trip and plan accordingly. And remember that all airlines have different restrictions, so read each airline’s rules before you book a new trip.
- International policy: Only domesticated dogs and cats may be carried to or from international destinations.
- Pets that are allowed in main cabin: domesticated dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, or small household birds are accepted in the cabin on all domestic Frontier flights, and on international flights to and from the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
- Generally, in-cabin crates should be soft-sided and fit under the plane seat in front of you. Maximum dimensions for a pet container are as follows: 18″ length x 14″ width x 8″ height.
- Pets are not accepted on flights to or from Jamaica.
- No pets are allowed in the baggage hold.
- Animals that are restricted on all flights: large birds (e.g. parrots, macaws, cockatoos, birds of prey), rodents (including mice, rats, squirrels), beavers, ferrets, reptiles (including snakes), amphibians, spiders, and insects (and please, no lions, tigers, or bears).
- Pets must remain in the travel carrier at all times. If a pet is disruptive, it’s a pet owner’s responsibility to soothe them without taking them from the pet carrier. Please note: Most veterinarians advise against sedating pets for travel since the effects of tranquilizers on animals at higher altitudes are unpredictable.
