Rules and restrictions
Be sure to review this information before your trip and plan accordingly. And remember that all airlines have different restrictions, so read each airline’s rules before you book a new trip.
- Domestic policy: Emotional support dogs are allowed to travel to and from the US free of charge.
- Pets are not allowed to travel in the cabin on flights to London, Johannesburg, Hong Kong, or Australia, but they can travel in the cargo hold. For cargo crates, the ASPCA says that crates should be large enough for your pet to sit, stand, and turn around in.
- Pets will not be allowed to travel as registered freight on flights to Bangkok, Amsterdam, Boston, Mumbai, Brussels, Larnaca, Frankfurt, Moscow, Munich, Madrid, Berlin, Prague, Warsaw, Toronto, Vienna, Kiev, Budapest, or Rome.
- Animals (pets: only dogs, cats, and exotic birds) weighing up to 8 kilos (including the carrier container) will be approved for carriage in the passenger cabin together with an accompanying passenger.
- Up to two pets may be carried in one cage, providing that their total weight does not exceed 8 kg and they can be safely kept together in the container without disturbing each other or other passengers

Fees
Keep these extra costs in mind when traveling with pets.
- Animal up to 8kg = $100 each way
- Animal 9-50kg = $200 each way
- Animal 51-100kg = $400 each way
- Animal over 100kg = handled by EL AL Cargo
- Service dog = travel free of charge
