Pet Policy
Rules and restrictions
Be sure to review this information before your trip and plan accordingly. And remember that all airlines have different restrictions, so read each airline’s rules before you book a new trip.
- Pets not allowed in main cabin.
- Pets allowed in baggage hold: dogs and cats. For cargo crates, the ASPCA says that crates should be large enough for your pet to sit, stand, and turn around in. Crates made entirely of welded mesh or wire mesh are not allowed.
- Domestic: All flights to Chiang Mai, Phuket, Samui, and all flights operated with AT72 allow pets. Pet must be at least 8 weeks old.
- International: All routes allow pets except the Maldives (allow cats only). Apply Bangkok Airways acceptance procedure with local customs requirements of port of origin/transfer/transit/destination, animal age, and health requirement.
- Thailand: Pet must be at least 4 months old.
- Other countries: Apply local customs regulations.
Note: Some aircraft do not have the appropriate facilities for AVIH service. Please contact one of our offices or our call centre for more details. For other countries, apply local customs regulations.
- Pets that are pregnant, injured, ill, or with strong odor will not be accepted.
- Notify airline a minimum of 24 hours in advance prior to your departure date by contacting the call center or ticketing office.
