Rules and restrictions
Be sure to review this information before your trip and plan accordingly. And remember that all airlines have different restrictions, so read each airline’s rules before you book a new trip.
- Pets allowed in the main cabin: dogs and cats within the contiguous 48 United States. Generally, in-cabin crates should be soft-sided and fit under the plane seat in front of you. The carrier may be no larger than 9” high x 16” wide x 19” in diameter.
- No more than two pets are allowed per carrier.
- Pets are not allowed to travel in the baggage hold.
- While at the airport terminal and onboard the aircraft, pets must remain completely in the carrier and only be handled by the traveler who is accompanying them.
- Travel to international destinations and U.S. territories, including San Juan, Puerto Rico may not accept all pets.
Additional helpful info for traveling with a pet:
- Passengers with pets may not occupy an exit row, one row before or after an exit row, or occupy a seat in the bulkhead.
- Passengers with pets must check in with an Allegiant agent at the ticket counter or gate counter at least one hour prior to scheduled departure to ensure pets and pet carriers are compliant with the above guidelines.
- A health certificate is not required.
