Rules and restrictions
Be sure to review this information before your trip and plan accordingly. And remember that all airlines have different restrictions, so read each airline’s rules before you book a new trip.
- Pets allowed in main cabin: cats, dogs, and ferrets.
- Pets allowed in baggage hold: cats, dogs, and ferrets.
- Pets must be older than 3 months.
Domestic:
- Cats and dogs must have one of the following for travel to the US:
- Valid rabies vaccination.
- CDC issued un-immunized dog permit.
- Written or oral statement that the dog has been living in a rabies-free country for the past 6 months or since birth.
International:
- Birds from Asia, Turkey, Russia, South Africa, Romania, and the Balkan Peninsula are not allowed to be imported.
- No pets can travel to the United Kingdom or Ireland.
- Pet must have Pet Health Card or Passport for travel to Italy.

Pet in cabin:
- Domestic flights = 40 EUR
- European flights and to/from North Africa = 75 EUR / 95 USD
- To/from the rest of the world = 200 EUR / 250 USD
- From the USA and Mexico to the rest of the world = 200 USD
- From the rest of the world to the USA and Mexico = 125 EUR / 125 USD
- From Canada to Europe, East Europe, Japan = 320 CAD
- From Europe, East Europe, Japan, Korea and China to Canada = 150 EUR
- From Canada to Middle East = 320 CAD
- From Middle East to North Africa/West Africa to Canada = 170 CAD
