Pet Policy
Rules and restrictions
Be sure to review this information before your trip and plan accordingly. And remember that all airlines have different restrictions, so read each airline’s rules before you book a new trip.
- Pets allowed in the main cabin: cats and small dogs. Generally, in-cabin crates should be soft-sided and fit under the plane seat in front of you.
- Pets allowed in the baggage hold: cats and small dogs if on the same flight as the passenger. For cargo crates, the ASPCA says that crates should be large enough for your pet to sit, stand, and turn around in.
- No pets are allowed on flights to and from Hawaii.
- Your pet in its carrier will count as one standard item toward your carry-on baggage allowance.
- Only one cat or small dog in the cabin is allowed per passenger. Your pet must:
- Be at least 12 weeks old and fully weaned.
- Remain at all times in a closed pet carrier stowed under your seat.
- Please note that your pet cannot travel with you in the cabin if you:
- Are an unaccompanied minor.
- Are seated in an exit or bulkhead row.
- Require the use of a medical device that needs to be stowed underneath the seat.
- Are traveling in our Premium Economy cabin.
