About: I am just starting to my fourth career, playing with your companion. I recently retired from teaching sustainable development at UAlbany. I now spend my days outside with hairy friend Herman. I picked up my first stray, Bandit, at 9. I have had a at least one dog since then, I am now 63. All from shelters or strays. I also did doggie foster care too. Known to be gentle and friend of the furry ones. I start each day with a morning meander across the 25 acres on a dead end road. Your companion will be well exercised, loved and cared for as long as they get along with my 14 year old hairy friend Herman, who lets cats eat from his dishes. He runs the place when it comes to house rules. He does not have viscous bone in his body. After three careers and global travel I am recently retired. My days are spent gardening, walking, sitting on the porch, listening to music, etc. I am rarely gone more than a few hours as Herman, my four legged friend, needs special care at 14 years old. I am typically up before dawn, no dog or alarm necessary. My day typically begins with me waking predawn and greeting the new day with my hound Herman on the 25 acres we cohabitate. Most is abandoned agriculture returning to forest for 35 plus years that is bisected by a small babbling brook. Breakfast is then served before returning outside. In climate weather I am outside more than 70% of my day outside. At 14 he chooses to stay in sometimes. Your companion will be free to make their own choice too. My life ambition is to nurture life. I have cared for pets since I was born as my family had cats. There is a fenced area that includes four shaded area. There will be plenty of water, including a baby pool for play as well as sprinklers. This area is shares two fences lines with my garden, has direct access to a walk out basement, and is fully visible from my porch. The dogs will have near 24/7 personal attention and care. I live sustainably. There are no chemicals in my lawn or garden. I have an enclosed porch that in the summer is open air, but no steps to escape. Only with your permission would I walk a guest off leash. Before walking them off leash I will need feel 100% confident they respond to command when other distractions are present. Again with your permission I would take your friend to a fenced in dog park visit as a trial run. Herman, my housemate, is a happy healthy 14 year old he is my best reference. He also has final word on all guest of all species. About an 1/2 acre is fenced with direct access from the house through the basement door. It includes shaded doggie lounges, a baby pool in the summer, toys galore, and lots of attention as the space is adjacent to my garden and the covered porch. It has the capacity to be divided if unruly dog needs to be isolated or there are little ones that just need time away from the bigger ones. Indoors, dogs are free to roam in the basement and first floor. If they are cage trained I can accommodate that. The two beds are off limits. To prevent misunderstanding with bed loving dogs I will keep my guest room. Both the porch and the living room couches are fine. Little ones may use chairs too. The house is really set up for Herman’s comfort and safety. The 32x10 covered front porch is a favorite of Herman and all his visiting friends. Your hairy friend will be delighted by this feature too. One more thing, the hardwood floors are currently covered in rubber “yoga mats” as Herman can not cope with slippery floors. There are also many large dog beds that Herman is happy to share. Opps, where are our manners; welcome to our slice of Paradise!😊

About: I have a small dog, an indoor piggy, and a caged bird. I have grown up with pets, and always make sure they are properly taken care of. I love all animals, and strive to provide them the best stay possible. I am currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time to spend with the fur babies! I enjoy walking in the morning and evening, and if your pup enjoys that they can tag along! The animals will be taken care of just as my own. My dog is spoiled, and loves to snuggle. She’s is not aggressive towards other dogs, she just prefers humans. The animals are allowed on furniture and allowed to sleep in bed with Charlie and myself; as my home is their home for the duration of their stay!

About: I have had a lot of experience with animals such as dogs, cats, horses, goats, bunnies, and hamsters. I currently have a male basset hound who was born 5/2/20, a female black lab born 12/2/20 and 2 cats that get along well with other animals. My dogs love the company of other pets and are very playful, and friendly. I take them hiking and on walks daily. Animals have always been my biggest passion as far back as I can remember. This fall I will be going back to college to get my degree in Physical Education, eventually I’d like to save enough money to own an animal daycare business/and or animal rescue in the future. If you choose me to care for your animals I will make it a great experience and I will love them as if they were my own 😊 This fall I will be working part time early mornings, and classes in the afternoons. I treat every dog like my own and always strive to make them feel safe, happy, and loved. I regularly dog sit for friends and family, so caring for animals is already built into my routine. I also currently have a crew of my own — 3 dogs (just welcomed a puppy in Dec. 2025) & have a flock of 24 chickens! As I continue using Rover, I’m excited to grow this into something more consistent, with the goal of potentially offering pet care full time in the future. Animals truly are a big part of my everyday life 🖤🐾 I’m able to be home and present, so pets get lots of attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I also have dogs who do great with other dogs, which can be a fun and positive socialization experience when it’s a good fit. I have crates available if needed, extra bowls, and enrichment toys like snuffle mats and games to keep pets engaged and comfortable. My goal is always to make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: I've had dogs my entire life, but really started taking a lot of responsibility for their care around 12. From small breeds to large, I've loved them all! I have experience with behavioral issues, medication administration, seizures, and other medical issues. I'm a stay at home mom of two beautiful disabled children. We have one cat and one dog. I'm always home and available during the day for boarding. We have nice, big yards and we live in a very friendly neighborhood! I'd also love to help take care of your babes on the weekends, evenings, and occasionally during the week! I have an unfenced but spacious yard. Our home has the capacity to keep everyone separated if needed, but lots of room to be together, too! We have plenty of room for a crate, if that's how your sweet babe thrives, but we also support snuggles during sleep, too!

About: Do you ever look at your dog and think how did I get so lucky...Pups to many our like children they get all the love you have to give...Like you the time I am with them I will love and adore them...I've almost always had a dog...My beagle Shelby 15 1/2 passed away on December 20, 2022 and Dante passed away July 4th 2020, I don't have the heart to delete them he was 11 and had been with me the past 4 years since I saved him from the NYC kill shelter on his last day...I trap cats have them fixed and find them homes, some stay (10)....I am active on house sitting sites and travel for sits whenever I have free time from work (photographer)...For years I have taken care of friends cats, dogs, horses, cows, goats and Rizzo the rat... I work a lot from home only gone a few hours at a time if I do need to go out for any jobs or errands... I do have an indoor/outdoor kennel in my barn in the house I have a spare bedroom a pet can have if they need their own space also a mud room which I mostly use for kittens/cats I have trapped...

About: My parents and I used to breed and raise black labs for years during my childhood, so I am very experienced and easy going with just about any animal. I Currently driver Uber and run an online business so I am all around pretty flexible since I have no set work schedule for either! I have a large house with a very open backyard perfect for animals to run around and get their energy out. The yard is not fenced in, but I have a close line with a leash and hook that allows dogs to move freely throughout the yard.
