“Jaxon was great with my dogs and they loved her very much. She was able to stay with them during 4th of July so they weren’t scared of the fireworks. She was very helpful and maintained communication with me at all times”

“Letitia cared for our pup while we were overseas and did a wonderful job. We appreciated all the updates and love she gave our girl while we were away, and cared for our home as if it was her own. Thank you again! Knowing our pup was in great care for our extended vacation put us at ease! Would recommend to anyone!”

About: 15 years of pet sitting experience. Vet technician experience. Animal rescue experience. I work as a environmental biologist and enjoy taking care of peoples beloved pets for a little extra income. I have lived in the Wrightwood area most of my life and have been pet sitting here for many years. I have experience with dogs, cats, horses, cattle, donkeys and small critters. I also am able to water plants and any other house care duties needed while you are away on vacation. I have experience with giving pets medication and pets with special needs. I love all animals big and small. I am available in Wrightwood, Pinon Hills and Phelan. I am very reliable and can provide a reference if needed. Please text me if you have any questions :) I have a open schedule and can typically fit your pets needs. Overnight sitting books pretty far in advance so please send me a message as soon as possible. I come to your house and take care of your pets where they feel most comfortable. Pets typically do better when you are away if they are able to stay in their home and not go to a boarding facility.
“Rachel was absolutely amazing from start to finish! She was very prompt with her response to my initial query, quickly scheduled a meet and greet, and came prepared with questions. She is very professional, reliable, and absolutely loves animals. Buster had a great time with Rachel! She stayed with him for three days and I came home to a spotless home and a happy dog. She reviewed all the instructions in depth and consistently provided me with updates and cute little videos of Buster. I will absolutely be using Rachel again in the future and can wholeheartedly recommend her to others.”

“We had a last minute event and she came through! We highly recommend. Great communication quick response, and punctual. We have a Great Dane Mastiff and an 14yo boxer who can be very needy in their own ways. She sent updates of potty breaks, meals and asked all the important questions. We will definitely request her again. Thank you for taking care of our babies!”

About: Variety of experience with all realms of dogs, especially senior and pregnant dogs. Additionally, able to handle nursing dogs and puppies. Specialized experience with bully breeds. I am a full-time remote worker looking to help out now that I have the space and time. Meet my pets I have been a lifelong dog lover, I currently have 2 dogs. My foster fail, Remi, who was rescued from the shelter a couple hours before being put down. And her son, Oso, who was a member of the surprise litter of 8. Remi and Oso are Cane Corso pups that are socialized with both humans and other dogs. Spacious enclosed yard on larger land to enjoy for daily walks. Indoor/Outdoor kennels available for overnights. About: I grew up with bunnies, chickens, and dogs! When my neighbors would go on vacation they'd always ask me to take care of their pets even as a child. I love hanging out with animals, their energy is my favorite and I love to cuddle with them. I wanted to learn more about horses so I volunteered to muck stalls just for a chance to learn how people care for them, that's the type of person I am. I also worked as a CNA for a number of years in the medical field so I feel comfortable administering medicines as directed and staying on top of puppy care, elderly care or just general medical dog care as directed. I'm currently looking for work so I'm flexible and free to stay with pets all day and overnight if you are comfortable with that. Whatever you are comfortable with. I know how important it is to trust someone in your home and with your pet. I'll respect your home and follow instructions carefully and try to keep to your pets routines so that they don't feel stress from a different person being with them.I'm attentive with walks and always ensure that gates are closed. If you like to receive regular photo updates I can send them as well to show how your pet is doing.
“Lynette is everything you look for in a petsitter. During the initial visit, she's very transparent about her schedule which removes any uncertainty about when she won't be with the dogs. She is very kind and let the dogs stay on the bed with her. She's very responsive with her texts and we found our house exactly the same way we left it. We are also very happy that she was willing to water our plants for us. Above all, she is reliable and trustworthy. We would use her again.”

About: I grew up around dogs. I cannot remember a time in my life in which I did not own a dog. I love dogs with all my heart. Friends and family have always trusted me with their fur babies to dog sit and care and love them. I am also usually tasked with training their dogs to do basic commands. I have a lot of experience with dogs of all breeds. I have a couple years of experience volunteering at my local animal shelter, and even have an adorable Valley Bulldog mix as a result of volunteering. I could not resist adopting at least one of my shelter babies! I also currently own a black lab. I love my dogs sooo much, and I will take care of yours as I do mine. I work in the education field, so my schedule is FULLY OPEN from June throughout July. When school is in session, I am available from 4:30pm-10pm and open availability on weekends. I will be there to give your dog whatever care and attention they need, whether that is walking them for however long they are used to, feeding them or giving water, taking them outside to play, etc.
“Very sweet lady! Did a great job watching the house and our pets! Kept in touch with us while we were out of the state. Sent cute pictures of the dogs and cats! I would ask her to housesit/ pet sit again!”

About: I’ve lived with several types of dogs for all my whole life. Multiply at the same time from family members to mine and I have learned how different breeds have different personalities and how even when they’re different they all just need patience and love and space to grow. making sure that they are paid correctly fed correctly to healthy owner wants it to be. I’ve pet it for many of my family members and have always taken care of my dogs so I know with puppies sometimes you have to help potty train and teach trick tricks as well as as for senior animals or dogs you need to be very specific where they sleep how they’re bathe how they are overall taking care of as well if they need any pills to be incorporated with their food. As well as their meals need to be made special that can be arranged. Like many college students most of my time is usually at home studying or the library so my schedule is very flexible, whether you need me to go to you’re home at at any time with enough time in advance. I have a fenced house so the animal can’t get out and then a small wooden fence that is if the dog wants to be separated from my other dogs but I’m much more comfortable making sure the pet is in their own home due to my dogs because they aren’t friendly with others pets
About: Ive been caring for dogs since 2010. From Shih tzus to Weimaraners. I am very understanding of dogs’ needs at any ages, especially senior dogs. For the past 6 years I’ve been caring for cats as well, fully getting to know what goes into cat care. Caring for cats has been such a great experience. I’ve become close to an expert when anticipating a cats needs and wants. I’m comfortable with cats that are super friendly to cats that are super shy and keep to themselves. I currently have full availbility and can care for pets anytime during the day, afternoon, evening and overnight. I am very flexible with my schedule and can work with most schedules. I never leave my dogs unattended in the backyard because while it is completely fenced off they are curious and can sometimes find ways to go get into things. I also never let them off the leash in the front yard. I monitor eating time to make sure no one eats the others food. I also specially prepare their food based on needs (vitamins, mix-ins, microwaving food, etc). Also putting on coats or sweaters if it’s too cold. For my cat I never let her go outside so I’m very diligent when I let the dogs out to the backyard. I prepare her food as well similar methods to the dogs. I keep up with her nail trimming and brushing as well as keep her litter box clean and tidy. They all have had different medications at different times so im very use to keeping track of different medications needed per pet. When weve had chincillas, guinea pigs and fish, Im always very attentive to how they are. This entails monitoring them if they are getting time outside of their enclosure, cleaning up after them and making sure the other animals in home are respectful of their space :). Many times I have had to redirect my cat away from the fish tank with either a churu treat or toy lol :)

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 2,054 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Big Pines. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Big Pines walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Big Pines maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Big Pines choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
