“She was great with our skittish cats and they were even comfortable enough to eat (one of them spent a whole week under our bed with a different sitter). We did leave a detailed two page set of instructions and while we found our home clean and in order, there were just a couple little things that could be improved. For example, the mail wasn’t brought in all week, and I had told her she could sleep in either the master or guest bed but she chose to sleep on the couch. Our cats are used to sleeping on the bed with us and I prefer to keep their situation as close as possible to routine. She did have good communication and sent several photos which was comforting while we were away. Overall, a delightful young lady to work with.”

“This is the first time we go for a long trip and leave our babies with someone else than a family member. Mariah was very kind and took good care of our babies, and definitely was a blessing to them.”
“Felipe did a fantastic job taking care of our puppy, Bambino. From the moment he arrived, it was clear that he genuinely cared about Bambino’s well-being and comfort. He kept us informed throughout the entire stay, provided regular updates, and sent plenty of pictures, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Bambino was happy, well cared for, and received lots of attention. Felipe was professional, reliable, and very attentive to our puppy’s needs. We truly appreciated his communication and the care he provided. I highly recommend Felipe to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. We will definitely be reaching out to him again for future bookings. Thank you, Felipe, for taking such great care of Bambino! 🐾🐶 5/5 Stars. Highly Recommended.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Emily. From her communication to the way she cared about my dogs, she is just great. Definitely booking again if she is available. Thank you so much for your help Emily”

“Eliana took great care of our babies and our home! We felt confident leaving them in her care based on her calm, kind demeanor and the insightful questions she asked during the meet and greet, which showed her knowledge and intuition for animal behavior. She kept in great contact and was even a great sport about some circuit breaker issues that popped up while we were away. Reliable, responsive, and very sweet with our precious pets!”

About: I grew up around dogs. I cannot remember a time in my life in which I did not own a dog. I love dogs with all my heart. Friends and family have always trusted me with their fur babies to dog sit and care and love them. I am also usually tasked with training their dogs to do basic commands. I have a lot of experience with dogs of all breeds. I have a couple years of experience volunteering at my local animal shelter, and even have an adorable Valley Bulldog mix as a result of volunteering. I could not resist adopting at least one of my shelter babies! I also currently own a black lab. I love my dogs sooo much, and I will take care of yours as I do mine. I work in the education field, so my schedule is FULLY OPEN from June throughout July. When school is in session, I am available from 4:30pm-10pm and open availability on weekends. I will be there to give your dog whatever care and attention they need, whether that is walking them for however long they are used to, feeding them or giving water, taking them outside to play, etc.

“I am so happy we had Cadence dog sit for us! She is so professional and sent us updates and pictures. I felt completely comfortable and safe leaving her with our dog. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to ask Cadence to sit for us again; she was fantastic. Our dog was clearly a happy gal!”

“Air was so great!! Bubba can be aggressive, depending on how you approach him, and he immediately ran up to her and gave her a kiss 🥹 He won’t do a lot of things while I’m gone, but she got him to go outside, potty, fetch, and eat cheese - things he wouldn’t even do for my family off the bat. I appreciated the updates throughout the day, as well as the pictures. This was my first time using Rover, and I’m so glad that I chose Air to watch Bubba while I was visiting for a wedding 🩷 I would ABSOLUTELY rebook if I lived there!!”

About: I’ve worked with pets of all kinds for more than 20 years. I’ve worked with cats, dogs, birds, fish, lizards, snakes, gerbils, hamsters, rabbits, toads, hermit crabs, and snails. I do charge slightly more for snails because while slow, they are slippery little suckers. I am very organized. I focus on having a routine for the animals because they need it and appreciate it. I know most animals appreciate predictability and attention. I only go to a client’s home. I would rather see the pet on their turf and follow their rules as opposed to taking them out of their safety zone.
“Alicia was fantastic!! She checked in frequently, sent a ton of photos and videos and the boys were super happy spending time with her. She left our home clean and tidy and was an all around delight!! We can't wait to have her watch the boys again!”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for family and friends since I was 17 and have experience caring for animals of all kinds. I currently have a lot of animals myself including 3 cats, so I’m very comfortable around different types of personalities. :) I also have experience caring for senior dogs. I cared for my senior dog throughout her later years until she passed away at 18 in 2024, so I understand the patience, attention, and extra care older pets may need. Most recently, I spent several nights pet sitting my cousin’s German Shepherd and golden mix, as well as her senior cat who needed daily medication in his food. I truly love animals and treat every pet like family. My schedule is flexible as I currently work part time! I’m able to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets I care for. I’m available for drop-ins, walks, overnight stays, and extended pet sitting depending on the owner’s needs. I’m reliable, communicative, and happy to work with different routines to help pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities! I always take time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special care instructions so they feel safe and stress free. I’m experienced with senior pets, high energy dogs, cats, small animals, birds, and reptiles, so I’m comfortable adapting to different needs and temperaments. I provide lots of attention, playtime, affection, and patience while making sure pets stay in a clean, secure, and calm environment. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so they can feel comfortable knowing their pets are in good hands!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,763 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Alray. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alray walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alray maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alray choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alray. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
