About: Hello! I'm Selena, a student at Skidmore college, doing research over the summer. Back home, I'm the owner of one dog as well as two cats, and I regularly dog sit for my friends and family members. My love of animals is well known and I'm always their go-to for pet sitting, as they know I'm always happy to do it. My current Bernedoodle has been with me since she was just a puppy, so I'm very aware of how much care and attention puppies need. I've also cared for dogs on the older side, and I'm open to dogs of all ages and sizes! Caring for pets is very important to me, so much so that when I do not have an animal to care for (i.e. when I'm alone at school), I become very sad. Growing up, taking care of animals every day was very important to me. I am unfortunately a college student living in on-campus housing, so I am unable to care for pets in my own space. About: I’ve been caring for pets since I was 5 years old, when I got my very first dachshunds—Peanut and Sweetie. By the time I was 9, I had adopted a shelter dachshund and raised two more dachshund puppies, bringing my total to five dogs at once. I personally trained all of them, which gave me a strong foundation in understanding dog behavior, especially with independent or energetic breeds like dachshunds. Throughout middle school and my teen years, I helped neighbors by dog sitting, walking, and doing drop-in visits, often just for playtime and companionship. These experiences taught me how to adapt my care for both high-energy pups and older dogs who need a gentler, more patient approach. In addition to my pet care experience, I am also a dancer, choreographer, and educator. Through years of teaching and working with students of all ages, I’ve developed strong skills in patience, attentiveness, and understanding individual needs—qualities that naturally carry over into the way I care for animals. I also have years of experience caring for cats—both my family’s and now my own sweet cat, Tom. I understand feline behavior, how to earn their trust, and how to create a calm, safe environment where they feel comfortable while you’re away. As a stay-at-home mom to my 2-month-old baby, I’m home often and have a flexible, attentive schedule. I truly value creating a calm, safe, and loving environment—for both pets and people. About: I have been sitting for years and currently have two dogs of my own. Our older dog had ear cancer so I am familiar with how to care for sick dogs and how to give medicine and the treatments of such nature. I currently work during the work week so I am free most nights during the week do stop ins and then have much more open availability on the weekends! I am unfortunately not able to have my own pets due to where I live.
