I had Maliyah and Gabriel take care of my dog for four days (three walks a day), and honestly, they were just really solid people. They were always on time, kept everything consistent, and you could tell they weren’t just rushing through it. My dog can be a little particular with new people, but she clicked with them right away, which says a lot. Every time they came by, she seemed genuinely excited to see them. They made sure she was fed on time, took her on actual walks (not just quick bathroom breaks), and even stuck around a little longer to spend time with her. That part meant a lot to me, it didn’t feel like they were just checking a box. Overall, it just felt easy and stress-free knowing she was in good hands. I’d 100% reach out to Maliyah and Gabriel again.

About: I am from Colombia and there I had the opportunity to work with him, in a family veterinarian where I learned a lot. Here in the United States I have been taking care of dogs and cats at home several times. It is important, since animals are part of my life and always will be, I also dream of one day having the money to be able to give a good life to several animals that currently live in a shelter. I keep them company, I sing to them, I play with them, I walk them, when they sleep in my house I always make them comfortable and I am aware of all their behavior, especially because I know they miss their owners.

About: Hi! Im Gina! I have grown up with all sorts of animals big and small my whole life! I volunteer on a farm with all sorts of furry, and scaly friends! I absolutely love animals, they are my biggest passion. Id definitely say I am more of a pet person than a people person. I have worked with all sorts of animals. I am open to all and would love to get to meet your pets! I am a current college student who’s scheduled is mostly online and in the morning or at night. My free time is usually between 9am-7pm. Weekly, I plan for longer walks, grooming, cleaning pet areas, and monitoring supplies like food and medications to ensure everything stays on track. I create a calm, pet-friendly environment by keeping spaces clean, hazard-free, and well-supervised. I follow each pet’s routine, dietary needs, and any medical instructions closely. In a client’s home, I respect their space while maintaining their pet’s normal schedule to reduce stress. I use positive reinforcement, monitor behavior for any concerns, and keep open communication with owners through updates and photos to build trust and reassurance.

About: I have been bringing home and taking in animals ever since 2010 when I was in 5th grade. I have always put a lot of time, patience, love, sweat and money into my own animals. I try to give my babies the best quality of life that I can provide and I intend to do the same while yours are in my care! I have a tremendous amount of love & respect for all animals. I also have a lot of experience with multiple different breeds because I've had numerous dogs, a cat & a leopard gecko. Some duties I can help assist with include potty training, walking, teaching training commands & any senior/special needs care. If needed I can administer oral liquid medications, as well as pills and I can change diapers too. I am a stay at home dog mommy and I run a small business as well. So I generally have a lot of time, love & space to offer at my house throughout the week for guests. I'd love to take care of your babies or walk them to help you out with your busy schedule! !!!NEW DAYCARE INQUIRIES PLEASE READ!!! :) DUE TO HIGH VOLUME OF CLIENTS IVE HAD TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO MY DAYCARE HOURS THEY ARE NOW FROM 8AM-8PM. **My base rate of $35/day ensures your baby with up to 12 hours per day in my care! If you were to need extended daycare time for longer than 12 hours, it is $10/hour per extra hour outside of my set daycare hours. If you were to need to drop-off before 8am I do charge an early bird fee of $10. I also offer custom packages for long-term daycare or odd situations, feel free to inquire and I'd be happy to try and help you! Thankyou so much for taking the time to read this! :)** If receiving in-home care from me I have a very friendly puppy who will keep your baby company. I can assure you your child will be treated as one of my own! Also if they are not pet friendly you can request one-on-one time and I can easily make that happen too. Im all about everyones comfort. :) If providing care in the clients home I will ensure your baby is safe, loved and comforted at all times, I will also abide by all house rules and make sure they're happy, fed & walked!

Kiley was a lifesaver for us! Our usual dog sitter/walker couldn’t assist us and I was able to book Kiley on short notice. She went to our home and took exceptional care of our 7 month old Yorkie, Dash! I can’t say enough about how great she was with him. We received updates and photos which we were grateful for. Thank you Kiley! We look forward to booking you again soon. -John and Brianna

About: In my 5 years of watching animals, I have found a passion in taking the best care of them and making them feel comfortable in their own homes. I have dealt with stressful dogs all the way to the outgoing kinds and know how to comfort them in anyways I can. I also have experience with training puppies and keeping up with them! Along with watching the animals, I am also there for you so if you have any plants that need watered or trash taken out I will happily do that for you! I am a Sophomore at East Carolina University and I do have classes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday! I only have 1-2 classes a day that are not longer than an hour! My top priority is making sure they are comfortable and not stressed with their owners being gone. I ask the owners if they have any ways of calming them down and what their daily routine is. I mold my schedule to what the animals are used to so they aren’t dealing with a big change.

About: Hi!! I am a rising sophomore at ECU and my family and I just moved to Garner from New York. I am looking for dog care jobs over my summer break so I am available all day every day until I go back to school. I am a morning person and like starting my days quite early so any of you need anything in the morning, I would love to help! I absolutely adore dogs and everything about them! Any time there is one in the room I am drawn to it and it gets my undivided love and attention. Most of my family and friends call me the dog whisperer because all dogs love me too! I have been sitting for a little over two years and have experience with all ages, sizes and breeds. I love being outside and active, and going on walks is one of my favorite things to do. I also don’t mind picking up after the dogs. (Someones gotta do it lol). My family has had 2 dogs of our own but both are no longer with us anymore. They were my built in best friends and most of the time I enjoyed their company over my family’s. I have so much free time on my hands that I can work with as many that I possibly can! I like being up early and don’t mind being out all day. I can keep your gates and doors locked while we are inside. Make sure the dog is always on a leash before opening a door for a walk.

About: What sets me apart is the genuine love and patience I have for every pet I care for. I take the time to understand each animal’s personality and needs, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you're away. With reliable communication, attention to detail, and a calm, caring presence, your pet will be treated like family. I am usually free everyday until around 3pm. Some weeks are different but I would love to communicate and find a way to fit your pet in. I create safe environments for pets by making sure they feel secure, relaxed, and respected at all times. I follow each pet’s routine closely, use positive reinforcement, and always supervise during play and feeding. I pay attention to their body language, give them space when needed, and keep their surroundings clean, quiet, and hazard-free. Whether it’s a cozy spot to nap or a calm walk outdoors, I prioritize their comfort and well-being in every moment.

About: I am knowledgeable with expressing anal glands on your dog when they become clogged and uncomfortable for your four legged friend. No dog breed or size is too much for me to handle. I am currently a graduate student at ECU with breaks between classes to ensure that your dog gets the bathroom break and exercise they deserve. I prefer to use a two leash system when walking a dog, a practice I picked up from my days as a volunteer dog walker at a no-kill shelter. This way, I can ensure your dog never leaves my side if they manage to slip out of their collar.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
