About: On a personal level, I have cared for and been family with dogs my entire life. As I got older, I found my current dog who has transformed my love and respect for dogs into something indescribable. After rescuing her at 3 months old, I have trained and raised her into a beautiful and fully-realized working-line dog. I have experience in advanced training of dogs that ranges from day-to-day obedience to scent imprinting and mind puzzles for high-drive/working breeds that require the mental stimulation. Regardless of your dog's personal needs, I will ensure that those needs are met and addressed in a fulfilling and rewarding way that will leave them feeling loved and satisfied. Depending on the week, you can expect to see me available up to five times in a week! I will do weekends and holidays without question. Every pet has their own specific and individualized needs. This knowledge will help me determine what is needed for your pet, such as longer/fast-paced walks to exercise a high-drive breed or a leisurely stroll for the beloved seniors. Drop-Ins will entail evaluating your pet's needs and addressing them accurately and satisfactorily.
“Greg did a great job with Jack! He stopped by before his bookings for 2 meet and greets to make sure Jack was comfortable. He went above and beyond with the walks, hangouts and training. We’re excited to book Greg again and we know Jack is too.”

“Kathy was awesome. My dogs loved her and I felt very safe with leaving my babies with her. Definitely recommend and hopefully use Kathy in the future. Thanks so much!”

About: I have no fear of any breeds large or small as I grew up around dogs and eventually having my own 2 big boys. I have experience training in dog walking. I have raised one of my dogs since he as puppy, I have experience in teaching the basic commands and potty training. I work from home. There is only one day where I would not be available. I am perfectly happy to accommodate my schedule for any emergencies! I have 2 American bully/pitbull mixes who receive the most care and love. When it comes to dog walking, I believe in letting dogs sniff around and take their time. I will make sure to to cater to your instructions.
“Alexis was an excellent sitter for drop-in visits for my two dogs. I was scrambling to find someone last minute and Alexis was so responsive and helped immensely when I had to leave out of town. She gave us thorough updates with pictures. If I ever need to rebook, I will definitely go to her first. I would highly recommend booking with her if you're searching for someone reliable, personable, and trustworthy.”

“Highly recommend hiring Julia for your rover needs! Julia was great communicating throughout her visits and sent plenty of photos of the pets. We ran into a snag during our vacation involving a cancelled flight and Julia went above and beyond to make sure our guys were cared for. Will definitely be hiring her again in the future!”

“Anthony is amazing, the care and love he showed for Persi was amazing. All the camera shots were fantastic to get every time he visited. Even brought in our packages! 10 out of 10!”

“We booked Brielle to do daily check ins on our cat, Roxy, while away on our wedding and honeymoon. Working with Brielle was easy and stress free. Brielle gave us daily updates that made us feel confident and comfortable that Roxy was well cared for while we were away! Roxy who is shy at first warmed up to Brielle quickly again making us feel good. We would recommend Brielle and will book again in the future!”

About: Previously moved from West Virginia where I did daily walks and pet sitting full-time after leaving a career in Public Health. I would take my clients on walks, hiking, running in fields, or swimming. My services are tailored based on the needs of the dog, family’s needs, and providing necessary pet sitting services when needed both in-home and boarding. Certified through the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and first aid trained. I’m a full-time dog walker and pet sitter, this ensures flexibility based on the needs of the client’s and their pets. In most cases I can do on-demand walking or drop ins to help with life’s business. I want to ensure animals are cared for in a safe and healthy environment. The biggest priority is the well being of the pet by ensuring a secure and nurturing setting. Any services provided in-home will be done so with respect to privacy and confidentiality of the pet-parents home and any sensitive information will be handled with care.

I care for pets in their own home by keeping their routine as normal as possible. “Hailey was great with Sylvie, who is large and can be intimidating for some! She was so positive and excited at every moment. Communication was great and we would happy to book with her again! Thanks so much Hailey!”

About: I’ve pet sat for a couple years now, my most regular customer has multiple dogs, one cat, four birds, and a ton of snakes, so I’m well equipped to watch a variety of animals! Throughout my life I’ve had multiple dogs, all different breeds, German shepherds, shih tzu’s, Boston terriers, and more, so in my opinion there’s no animal too big or too small that I can’t befriend! I’m a college student but my schedule is pretty flexible outside of classes, though during school breaks I’m completely free and I do own a car so I can travel a good distance to wherever your home resides! I will not be caring for pets in my own home, but when I’m caring in your home I’m more then happy to accommodate for whatever your pet needs, such as using a leash to go potty, or getting them to take pills if need be!
“Donna is so kind, attentive, and quick to respond! Donna quickly got back to us in a pinch when the person who was supposed to check in on our cat throughout our thanksgiving break fell through. I loved receiving pictures during both drop-ins, and thoroughly appreciated that Donna even brought our mail in. Knowing Donna was available and flexible, especially during the holidays, really put me at ease! I usually get sad knowing I can’t bring my cat with me to family functions, but now I never have to doubt she’ll be in good hands when we contact Donna in the future!”

“Denille was a lifesaver when our other sitter cancelled last minute. She made the best of a difficult circumstance and provided a loving companion for our dog while we were away. We are very grateful!”
“Margo was great with Ava. I got home last night, and Ava seemed happy. She wasn’t mad at me 😁. I should have have thought of Rover a long time ago. I would like to meet up with Margo so I can retrieve my key and thank her in person. I may have to have her again, according to my future plan. If Margo could get in touch with me, for a meetup, that would be great! Thank you! Diane Clancy”

I have never had a stranger take care of my dogs, so I was apprehensive about how my dogs would be with Julia. Well, I can honestly say that Julia was wonderful!! My dogs love her! She was very communicative, and sent me multiple pictures daily. I will definitely use Julia in the future.
Jillian was AMAZING! She made sure to provide pictures and videos through each day. She is very responsive and open. You can tell she truly loves her job and enjoys creating real relationships with your pets. Any time I have to go away I will absolutely be contacting Jillian again. Thank you !

We hired Brynn to come into our home to feed and walk our older dog when we went away overnight. She did an excellent job and sent us texts and photos each time. Our pup was in good spirits when we returned. I would definitely have her come again and recommend her highly.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
