About: I've walked and exercised dogs. Fed them. Snuggled them. I have a pretty laid-back personality, so I hardly stress out even when a dog is barking at me. I understand they need to get use to a person first sometimes. I work a super laid-back job from home so I have plenty of time to spend with any pets throughout the day, whether they be dogs who need walking or cats who need snuggling. I follow the routines outlined by my clients, and use my intuition to know what the pet is needed or feeling in the moment. It probably sounds corny, but it's the best way I know how to describe it. An attentive person can tell when they're upset or when they're at peace.

“Andrew was on time and totally respectful. He was very calm with our hyper puppy and did a great job of letting the pup come/warm up to him. We had a few requests (sitting at sidewalks and heeling by people) that make walking the pup a little more work. Andrew was more than happy to work with all of our requests. Definitely recommend!”

About: Hello! I’m so excited to meet you and your doggo! With nearly 15 years of experience volunteering in animal shelters, animals rescues and fostering dogs I am well equipped to work with dogs of all temperaments. The first several years of fostering I solely focused on behavioral cases, working with dogs on reactivity and leash manners. My experience spans ages 8 weeks to seniors and weights itty bitty to 120+ pounds. Those close to me will say I’m “a dog whisperer” as I typically can win over even very selective dogs. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life and I continue to enjoy meeting furry friends wherever I go! My work is per diem which luckily allows me lots of time to hang with pups! I am available most days from noon until 4p.m. Depending on what you are most comfortable with/your dogs specific needs- I can provide private walks at the length of your choice/dog’s ability, sessions of fetch or pup playdates in my large fenced in yard. My dog is submissive and very accepting of all dogs, which is what makes him a great foster brother! As the safety and comfort of your dog(s) is my utmost priority, any play date would be proceeded by proper introductions and proof of up to date vaccinations.

About: Hi! My name’s Misa and I’ve been an animal lover since I was a kid. Once my family got our first dog when I was 8 years old, we were inseparable. She was my partner in crime~ Now I have a cat of my own and he owns my heart! He’s pretty food motivated so I clicker trained him, and he knows about 10 tricks :D He also has some health issues so I’m familiar with giving cats medication. I recently graduated with my master’s from the UR and I’m still in the process of looking for a job. Which means my schedule is super flexible to hang out with your pet! I’m detail oriented, reliable, and respectful of your space and your pets~ I'm currently on the job hunt after finishing my master's degree so my schedule is very flexible to accommodate drop-ins in the morning or afternoon as well as the evening~ I'll do my best to adhere to your pet's normal routine and of course be respectful of their boundaries. About: I have been working at a dog daycare/boarding facility for over a year now, supervising up to 50 dogs a day. I care for and play with dogs of all sizes and ages, as well as give them baths when needed, feeding them meals, and giving needed medications. I have experience with many different kinds of dog behavior to know when they are anxious, scared, or if something is bothering them. Outside of work, I dog sit for family and friends, taking the dogs for walks and adventures so you will always be sure they will be tuckered out by the end of the day. I recently adopted a dog through K9 Orphans, Mia. She is a sweetheart with severe stranger danger (we are working on it), so I have experience with dogs who are reactive toward strangers. Through years of experience working with dogs, I’ve learned no personality is the same. I find it very important to learn what a dog’s specifics needs are and make sure they are met. My job at the daycare is full time and I work shifts that are between 6 and 8 hours (usually late morning through evening). Since I do work later in the day I have plenty of morning time to spend taking care of pets as well as flexibility to watch pets into the evening as well. Working at a dog daycare I experience everything that comes with working with dogs. I clean up anything you can think of, I understand dog behavior and when they are overwhelmed or anxious, and I know how to handle an aggressive dog. My main priority is to always keep them safe and happy.

Winston is known at his vet as “that dog (somewhat affectionately😆). He is a reactive, anxious rescue who takes a very long time to warm up to people; I knew it might be a struggle to find a regular walker for him. Portia has been incredibly patient, kind, and diligent in working with Winston. I’m thrilled that she’s earned his trust, because now I can stay at work all day without having to worry about running back during my lunch break to walk him. I’ve told many of my pet-parent friends about Portia, since she’s so incredible with Winston- I imagine she’s the same with other animals! I give Portia my very highest rating; Winston and I are incredibly lucky to have her in our lives!”
