About: We love our dog but we aren’t crazy dog people. Our home is clean. We have a friendly husky and a large fenced yard. We don’t leave for longer than 2 hours when we have a dog over and generally take 1 guest dog at a time. We work from home and only watch when we can be here every 2 hours. We don’t go out for more than 2 hours with a dog staying. I have a big fenced yard and a friendly husky that will keep your pet entertained. We also have a great dog walking neighborhood and path.

About: I've had dogs all my life, the most recently i had a awesome miniature poodle who I was fortunate to love and care for 17 years, so I am familiar with the needs of senior dogs. My schedule is fairly open every day after about 9 or ten am. I'd like a regular opportunity, but one offs will be good as well I am available for pet sitting at the clients home, but due to younger kids I can accommodate pets at my home. Walking and feeding and playing is ideal

About: Over the past few years I've built hands-on experience caring for dogs in multiple settings. I spent two summers at Camp Bow Wow, where I supervised playgroups of up to 25 dogs and handled daily care tasks such as feeding, administering medications, cleaning play yards and giving baths. I have also volunteered at many animal shelters where I walked dogs, fed them, cleaned kennels and assisted with training playdates. Additionally, through my sorority I support the Boulder Guide Dogs for the Blind by fundraising, baking treats, puppy-sitting, and socialising puppies to teach them good manners and prepare them for formal training. As a college student, my class schedule is flexible (giving me plenty of free time throughout the day to walk, play with, and care for your dog!) I am super easy to reach via the Rover app or text, and last minute bookings are no problem. I am open to midday walks, evening check-ins or an overnight stay on short notice, and can adjust my schedule to meet your needs! I miss my own dog back home so much, so caring for your pet isn't just a job, it's a way to fill that gap. I treat every dog as if they're my own, ensuring plenty of exercise, playtime, and affection. My experience caring for my dog (as well as 2 dogs and many foster dogs before her) have taught me to be patient, responsible and attentive to every dog's unique needs.

About: I rescued my black lab 10 years ago on my own, and have groomed in and assisted in veterinary hospitals in the past. I grew up with a dog and cats and love most all animals. I used to be a veterinary assistant for a few years before covid, and I have good friends who work in veterinary medicine as doctors! I love to learn as much as I can in that field as well. I am fully available to care and love your animals- The sooner you book me for house sittings- all the better!! I will regularly take the animals outside, give them treats, cuddle on the couch together (if they’re allowed on furniture) and feed them as needed I am happy to provide as much care and service to you and your pets as often as you need it, and whenever I am physically able to be there to care for them for you! For house sittings, I give the the houses with fenced in backyards both your pets and myself to stay outdoors with one another for a longer period of time in a safer environment to get to know one another, especially during first time visits. I love to lounge around the house and get to know your fur babies, especially during my first few times of interacting with them, just to establish care and trust during this time.

About: Hi there! My name is Briana, and I’ve been working with animals of all kinds for over 20 years. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do — it’s who I am! I’m happy to care for dogs, cats, horses, birds, small animals, and just about any furry, feathered, or scaled companion you may have. I’ve had animals my entire life and I’m comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I treat every animal as if they were my own family. I’ve completed an animal emergency CPR course and spent 4 years working in an animal shelter, growing within the organization until it was time to focus on being a mom. I’m patient, reliable, and truly passionate about animal care — I’d do just about anything to keep an animal safe and happy (safely, of course!). I prefer to schedule a meet-and-greet before any booking so everyone feels comfortable and I can learn your pet’s routine, preferences, and care needs. When caring for pets in your home, I’ll follow your routine closely and make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I have a very flexible schedule and would love to help care for your beloved pets. Feel free to reach out even if you just have questions — I’m always happy to chat. 🐾 I currently have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to provide visits, walks, and pet care whenever you need it. Whether you’re at work, away for the weekend, or just need an extra helping hand, I’m happy to accommodate your schedule whenever possible. I understand how important consistency is for pets, so I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, love, and care during every visit. My goal is to make sure your pets are happy, comfortable, and well cared for while giving you complete peace of mind. I treat every animal in my care as if they were my own. Every pet deserves patience, compassion, love, and individualized attention, and I take pride in providing exactly that. I will always follow your pet’s routine and provide the level of care, attention, exercise, and affection you request, because no one knows your pet better than you do. My goal is to make both you and your pet feel comfortable, confident, and cared for from the moment we meet until you return home. ❤️

As of August 2026, there are 25,105 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Basking Ridge. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Basking Ridge stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Basking Ridge. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
