When Bali was born, she was so critically ill that vets said she wouldn't make it. I refused to give up. For two solid months, I held her tiny, lethargic puppy body constantly, bottle-feeding her around the clock until she finally perked up and beat the odds. She grew up believing it was beneath her to bark or even use the bathroom in a public space—she was part cat, part human, and the absolute center of my world. That is the level of fierce, round-the-clock devotion I bring to animals under my care. ​A Gentle Guardian for Seniors (Intuition When It Matters Most): I deeply respect the vulnerability of senior pets. During one of my sits for a sweet senior Golden Retriever, I noticed some unusual lumps that her owners hadn't yet seen. I advocated for her and urged them to take her to the vet, where she was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer. A short time later, while her parents had to travel for an essential work trip, I watched her again. Within a couple of days, I could sense a deep shift in her energy—I knew the signs, and I knew she was declining. Though I make it a strict rule to never unnecessarily disrupt a client's trip, I followed my intuition and called them, gently but firmly explaining that they needed to come home ASAP. They arrived the next day, and she peacefully passed away the very next morning. Her parents were profoundly grateful; they couldn't imagine the heartbreak of not being there for her final moments. I bring that same protective vigilance to your aging companions. ​Rescuing Boomer: My home has always been a sanctuary for those who need it. I once rescued a scrawny, struggling young cat named Boomer in a parking lot. She was so incredibly grateful for the food and safety I offered that she kept coming right back to my front door (hence her name, "Boomer" for boomerang). Eventually, I made her an official indoor cat, and she spent the rest of her days as the happiest, most pampered girl. ​The Miracle on the Roadside: My respect for life extends to all of nature's creatures. I once pulled over for an armadillo on the side of the road that had unfortunately been hit by a car. Though she had passed, I noticed her stomach moving. Her pouch was full of live babies. We rescued them, brought them home, and successfully bottle-fed them. ​Every Life Matters: On another occasion, I spotted a tiny squirrel lying motionless on the sidewalk after falling from a tree. I carefully wrapped her in a towel, secured her in a large, comfortable box to give her room, and spent hours calling resources until I connected with a local squirrel sanctuary that took her in. About: I have worked in animal care fields for over five years. I used to work at two different boarding facility's where we would get not only dogs but cats and even birds sometimes. I have also stayed at family and neighbors houses while they were away to help with there fur babies! I look forward to meeting your beloved animals no matter how big or small! I currently work full time at a bank. I have a lot of free time for the weekends and for after work. I have to be at my work by 8:15 but will be able to come depending how close for my lunch to let the babies out. I get off around five so I will be back for the rest of the night. I am currently not able to bring pets to my home due to one of my dogs not being the friendliest. I am able to come and stay at your residence and also available for walking.

About: Hi friends! Thanks for taking the time to read my bio. I'm here because I would LOVE to get some steps in with your fur baby! Or just chill and give them back scratches if thats their preference. I love all dogs, no matter their age or breed. Volunteering at shelters has been a hobby of mine since childhood. Ive been a dog walker for Wag! for years but am switching to Rover because the Wag app is terribly glitchy. My most recent adventure has been fostering shelter pups - we currently had a foster fail situation which is how I got my current fur child, Indie. I've always adopted shelter dogs; to include labs, pitbulls, mixed breeds, and now a goldendoodle! I joined Rover in hopes of doing it more because I enjoy helping busy people take care of their precious pups. I'm a FOND believer of spoiling your pets. “We had Melissa house-sit our three dogs for six days this month — a Lab, a Mini Poodle, and a Chihuahua. Melissa truly knows how to handle dogs. Our Lab can be a little stubborn and doesn’t respond well to someone who is too soft-spoken, but Melissa knew exactly how to be firm and confident, so she would listen and obey. While we were away, our Lab ate something she shouldn’t have, which created a bit of an emergency. Melissa handled it calmly and responsibly by immediately contacting the emergency vet and us. Following our instructions, she administered hydrogen peroxide to safely induce vomiting and help our Lab recover. Melissa is kind, dependable, and clearly experienced with dogs. She also has nearby family support available if she ever needs assistance, which gives us additional peace of mind. We are extremely picky about who we trust with our pets because they do not do well in unfamiliar environments. We felt very comfortable having Melissa stay in our home and care for our dogs because we know she is responsible, loving, and capable of handling even stressful situations. We highly recommend Melissa and would absolutely hire her again if we ever need a sitter.”
