Stephen was absolutely amazing with Cosmo! From the moment they headed out, it was clear he was patient, attentive, and really understood Cosmo’s personality. He handled him confidently on the walk, kept him engaged, and made sure he was safe and happy the entire time. Cosmo came back relaxed and clearly well cared for. I truly appreciate Stephen’s professionalism and kindness he went above and beyond, and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy, fantastic dog walker.

About: Hello! I am 2022 graduate from The Ohio State University. I am currently living in Canby, Ohio. I have been working in the veterinary field for over 10 years as a receptionist, veterinary assistant, veterinary public health worker, and was most recently the Lead Technician of the radiology department in a multi-specialty hospital in West Los Angeles. From these work experiences, I have developed excellent attention to detail for each animal I work with. Services I offer include walks, at home drop-in visits, and medication administrations. I am also flexible to requests for pet services I have not listed. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. I look forward to meeting you and your pet! I am in the veterinary field. I have a flexible work schedule that gives me plenty of time to take care of your boy or girl. I have a very friend Boston terrier, several walking trails/ponds around me, and have a fenced in dog park next to my building as well where we can play tons of games together.

Elaine was a great help walking Homer while I was recovering from a back injury. She was prompt in responding to requests, bonded with Homer quickly, and provided detailed information about the walks, along with pictures. I will definitely use her in the future.

Trula was great! I needed someone last minute because we were going to a funeral about 2 hours from home. Trula was available and did a great job with Riley. She sent pictures and gave me details about the visit. I could see from the pictures I had made the right decision. Trula provided just what was needed - a friendly visitor for Riley to walk and snuggle with. I would definitely recommend her.

About: I worked at a vet clinic for 3.5 years but due to life changes I now work at a pet store and petsit to continue to work with animals while I work towards my goal of working in vet med again. I’m reliable with my own transportation and am very knowledgeable in proper pet care. I am communicative, compassionate, and attentive to animals and their needs. I have been my own friends’ and family’s pet sitter for the past 5 years and I treat every animal as if they were my own while in my care. My whole life revolves around animals; I have 4 cats of my own and have fostered 15 animals successfully in the past year, ranging from cats of all ages, dogs, and Guinea pigs. I also work directly with animals at my job and am looking to continue that path. I have multiple rooms in my home to separate the animals in my care if needed, I have access to professional services if an emergency were to arise while also having knowledge of what to look for in with different medical conditions that can be present in animals. I have a good understanding of animal behavior and I understand their needs.

About: What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals and my commitment to providing them with the best possible care. Growing up, I've had three dogs and one cat, and I've also cared for bunnies and chickens. This experience has taught me to understand and cater to the unique needs of different animals. I'm dedicated to ensuring every pet feels safe, comfortable, and happy. I truly value every opportunity to pet sit and make it a positive experience for both the pet and their owner. I go to school at Linfield University and play for the women’s basketball team. Outside of that, I would love to spend my time caring for your pets! When I'm caring for pets in my client's home, safety and trust are my top priorities. I follow all instructions carefully and maintain open communication with the pet owners. I'm committed to providing a loving and attentive atmosphere, making sure each animal feels comfortable and cared for.

About: I have had animals my entire life. I currently have a dog and two cats. My senior dog, Pete, passed away on 8/6 at 18. I am comfortable with dogs and cats if all ages, meds, and any other needs they may have. I’m a teacher so I can care for pets before/after school, over weekends. I can do drop ins and long weekend care as well. I can also do morning and afternoon walks. In my home, I am happy to host any dogs over the weekends who are dog and cat friendly. My cats don’t do well with unknown cats, but I can definitely drop in at your home. My home is very clean, safe, and zoned off for various animals. I have gates on my stairs, a gated yard, and locks on all the interior doors.

About: I've always been an admirer of animals and have a respect for their individual personalities. While their safety is my utmost priority, I realize that a solid rapport is just as necessary. I feel that walks are not just necessary for their relief but also to maintain their physical and mental well-being. I prefer to let your dog go at its own pace, whether relaxed or energetic, but also to let them enjoy their surroundings at their leisure. When we're at home, I'm always down to play with your pet, sit with them quietly, or give them their space. I'm a musician with a flexible schedule so it's easy for me to work around the needs of clients and their pets. I have plenty of time for walks during the day and many evenings are free for sitting. I always follow a client's detailed instructions regarding feeding, walks, and hygiene, and medicine. I always do my best to make sure the animal knows I'm there to be their friend and to take care of them.

About: I'm happy to help enforce skills they already know such as sit, down, stay, come, kennel, etc. I've trained Southeastern Guide Dogs before and can bring those skills to the table. I can figure out their good spots to scratch so that they'll enjoy being around me and trust me. I have also been around all different sizes and breeds of dogs, so please don't worry about size, breed, personality, or disabilities. I want to help give you the confidence of being a pet parent while still living your own life! I work from home part-time, so I have plenty of time to care for your fur baby(ies). I typically work mornings Tuesday-Friday, and have most afternoons and weekends available. I love giving cuddles to any animal who needs them. I will give them space if they need time to adjust, and I will patiently help them warm up to me. My hobbies include reading and crochet, so I will happily provide the company and comfort that your pet needs.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 6,584 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Barlow. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Barlow. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Barlow.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Barlow. On Rover:

  • 96% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
