It’s very important for me to understand your dog’s routines, preferences, and any special needs before we begin. Every dog has their own rhythm—how they like to eat, play, walk, sleep, and interact—and knowing these details helps me give them the smoothest, most comforting experience possible. The more I know about their cues, fears, quirks, and daily habits, the better I can maintain consistency and reduce stress while you’re away. Whether it’s a certain feeding schedule, medication timing, favorite toy, or a specific way they like to be approached, I’ll use all of that information to make sure your dog feels safe, understood, and cared for just like they do at home.
A typical day
⸻ A typical day with me is easygoing and active, starting off with a nice walk to stretch out and sniff around the neighborhood. I’m home and available throughout the day for company, playtime, or just hanging out together. If your dog loves exercise, we’ll take additional walks or spend time exploring local trails, if they prefer a slower pace, I’m just as happy to sit with them, offer treats, and keep them feeling safe and loved. Pet care experience
My wife, Connie, a retired nurse, and I have had six dogs over 35 years. We miss them dearly. I have raised dogs from puppyhood through their senior years so I understand the patience, structure and affection that go with it. I am retired from my legal practice of 35 years, and very active. I love long walks and have a nice fenced backyard if pet sitting is needed. Whether your pup needs long walks, gentle companionship or just someone who treats them like family I’m committed to make them feel safe, loved and genuinely cared for.

Fantastic experience! Stephen (and his wife Connie) provided us extreme peace of mind with their excellent, customized care for our dog who thrives as an 'only' dog. There was great effort, on their part, to recreate the routines that makes our dog comfortable in their canine-friendly home. Throughout our 10-day trip, we received communications at least daily in the forms of photos, videos, and text updates...proving how happy and relaxed our dog was while in their care. When we picked up our dog, he was chill and calm...like he'd be happy to keep hanging out with Stephen and Connie!
Stephen was great. He took Beckler to the park for walks and sent us pictures almost every day while we were gone for a week. We will use him again when needed.
Stephen was great with our 85 lb Lab. He helped with walks for two straight weeks, was always on time, provided great updates but most of all he was thoughtful about coming into our home to pick up the dog. Highly recommend!
Once again, Oliver had a great time and was so well taken care of. The day before our trip, Ollie had an issue with his foot and was put on several medications. Stephen's wife, Connie, made a meds chart to ensure that every dose was given on time. That wasn't something we had planned for, but they were so great about it.
