About: I know from experience what a challenge it is to find loving care for a family pet while you are away. I’m happy to provide that peace of mind for you. I’m currently retired and looking forward to filling my days with new animal friends, while getting a little exercise and helping my neighbors with their pet care needs. I currently have a beautiful black cat who likes to be queen of the castle so I’m happy to care for your pets in your home.

Christine was great with my two pups! It was the first time they have been left with someone other than family. They were in good hands and happy dogs when I arrived back home. I appreciated her updates and kind words about them through the days. Would definitely use her again!

About: I have taken care of kinds of dogs of all ages! I believe that animals are kinder than people and deserve the world. My parents own a Rottweiler mix and a Boxer mix, and my sister owns a Pitbull mix, so I am comfortable and familiar with the bully breeds. I am very active myself and love when I have a dog to accompany me on my own walks and daily activities (within the limits of the dog of course). I currently work part time in a restaurant, but I have plenty of time in my schedule to care for some animals! With enough notice, I am able to house sit, or have your dog stay at my house! My schedule is highly flexible for longer visits, or even just a short walk in the middle of your work day to give your pet a break. My home is quite large and has no hazards to any animal. If your pet was to stay with me, I have experience with dogs who are crate trained, but do not have a crate of my own, since my dogs are at my parents house. I also live with 3 animal loving roommates, so your dog would never be alone. I have a small front yard for quick trips to the bathroom, but live in a highly walkable area with dog parks and bigger greenspaces within walking distance for your pets pleasure. I love playing tug of war, or fetch with any puppy, and giving constant attention when I am caring for pets.

About: Hey! My name is Breanna but I prefer to go by my middle name Sky! I’ve had at least 14 years of experience taking care of puppies, senior dogs and giving medicine etc! My mom has fostered lots of dogs within the past 14 years and so that’s left me with lots of experience! I love puppies and senior doggies and will give them all the love and pets and ensure they are in good hands! I am currently job searching so I am available anytime! ❤️ If you choose me I will 1000% will give them all the love and boops on the nose! I can accommodate to anything and work with anything right now! Currently I am not able to have any of your fur babies in my home but in the future this can be considered possibly! I do have a fenced in yard

Cammie was amazing. She came to meet my pup in advance and took great care of her. Normally Tilly is stressed when I leave but she was completely at ease when I got back and my apartment was probably tidier when I got back than when I left! Recommend Cammie 100%.

I wish I could give Yasmine a million stars! She is so attentive. When one of our dogs was having tummy issues, she offered to make her a plain meal to help. She is so responsive and sends so many pictures and updates. We were so nervous leaving our babies but she is a pro. 100% recommend her and we will be using her again in the future!

About: I've been around dogs my whole life and have helped care for pets for friends and family. I'm reliable, follow routines, and enjoy spending time with animals. I work at a restaurant with a changing schedule, but I'm usually available during the day and keep my Rover calendar updated each week to reflect my availability. I always follow the owner's instructions and stick to each pet's normal routine. I'll make sure they have fresh water, meals on schedule, exercise, and plenty of attention. I also keep the home clean, secure, and send updates so owners know how their pet is doing.

About: I have taken care of animals of all kinds for my whole life living on our 50 acre family farm. We have horses, pigs, cows, dogs, cats, reptiles and fish! I take care of all of them and provide them with a loving and enriched environment. I can’t wait to meet your best friends, or have them for a visit! Pet care is my greatest passion and second job at home. I spend my mornings out in the fields with my horses and cows pitching hay, mucking stalls, and cuddling in the grass. I spend my evenings snuggled up with my 3 hound dogs on couch or landscaping my reptile and fish tanks for fun. I am open to the needs of all pets as I know people do things in their own way. I will carefully follow the instructions left by the client.

About: I had a dog who was disabled for the last 10 years, he fell down our steps and broke his back twice. I took care of him everyday. I work only 5 hour shifts at the Captains Table in Ocean City, Md. Day shifts and night shifts. I can take care of your pets throughout and or in between those times. When I had my dog I walked my dog 30 minutes a day, fed & played with my dog cooper all day long if allowed. I’m getting another dog soon in the next month or so.

About: Ive been taking care of little to small pups ever since a little girl. Our family has had breeds anywhere from chihuahuas to lab to boxer. Im looking forward to meeting new pups, as well as giving them the exercise and cuddles they need or desire. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out anytime! I love puppies, so anytime is puppy time. But, I'm currently available only early mornings, mid day and evenings. I do have a child at home so that will have to be taken into consideration. I work a 8-4 schedule, but I am free to leave if I absolutely need to. I can definitely do grooming. Your pet will be fed based on owners normal schedule. Dogs can be let out ever 2-6 hours depending on availability. Any rule you apply for your pet to adhere to, I will delegate that.

Katie is an EXCELLENT dog-sitter. She came for a meet and greet, then on the day of service, she arrived on time. She sent pictures and kept in contact throughout the time we were away. We'll DEFINITELY request her services again. Our pups loved her.

FAQs for House Sitting - Bainbridge

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Bainbridge on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 269 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bainbridge. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bainbridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bainbridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bainbridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bainbridge. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
