“Jynna has been my favorite sitter. We’ve never met but in the pictures she sends, I can tell she gives my babies attention and great care. My big boy always looks happy with her.”

“Close to Christmas and Brian was able to work in our 2 cats while we traveled. House was clean and cats were well cared for. Brian also made sure any packages that were delivered while we were gone were brought inside the house. Thanks Brian. Highly recommend!”

About: Hi there! My name is Katie, and I would love to take care of your pet needs. My family has a ten year old black German shepherd named Blitzen; a Great Dane named Hamilton; and a chocolate lab named Teddy. Throughout college, I lived with roommates that all had dogs/puppies/kittens/turtles, so I have become accustomed to many animals! By being around these animals, my love for them has grown and taught me that pets and cuddles can turn any day around. I will be sure to love your pet as if they were my own. I hope to be able to send you pictures of your animals and the adventures we go on together! I work in office from 9-5 on Monday through Wednesday, but I am available on Thursday - Friday. Let me know your expectations of how often I am there to ensure alignment in advance. I am flexible with how you take care of your pet. I can easily crate your dogs if needed. I try to build trust with the dog early on so we don’t have any issues!
“Amber was absolutely amazing when I was scrolling looking for someone I just got a great feeling about her I made the perfect Choice. I was away on a birthday trip 7 days, and she took incredible care of my cat, Arrow, the entire time. She kept in touch with me every day, sending updates and pictures that gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She made sure Arrow was well cared for, played with him, scooped his litter box, and even took the litter outside afterward to make sure my apartment stayed fresh which was great to come home to. She also took the time to let him drink from the faucet his absolute favorite thing! which showed me that she really paid attention to his personality and routines. On top of taking such great care of Arrow, Amber went above and beyond by bringing my trash can in and even putting my birthday flowers inside the house and in fridge to keep them fresh for me 🥹 It’s clear that Amber genuinely cares about the pets she watches and treats them like her own. Knowing Arrow and my home were in such good hands allowed me to fully enjoy my vacation. I highly recommend Amber to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and thoughtful pet sitter. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter than Sofia! She was amazing with our dogs, who absolutely adored her from the start. She went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable, happy, and well cared for. Sofia kept us updated with photos and messages, giving us peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear she has a genuine love for animals, and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
