About: I grew up with dogs, cats, goats, chickens, pigs, peacocks. You name it. I’ve been a huge fan of animals since I can remember. I’m super active outside and love taking pups out on hikes or walks. My last dog had to take meds so I’m also extra sensitive to pups that may need more present care. I’ve dog sat and house sat for many years before and just recently decided to give rover a try. I’m also a photographer so pics of your sweet pea will be guaranteed! I’m a photographer so my schedule varies. Sometimes I’m on a shoot or at home editing. I work part time at a restaurant wed-Friday so am unavailable those evenings. I am generous with my love with pets if they want that. If they are shy I will absolutely listen to what they need and let them warm up to me at their own pace. I am clean and respectful of others’ space and strive to make sure your sweet pup gets the activities they deserve.
“Always on time and ready to play! Nathan treats our active fur babies as his own! We never have to worry when Nathan is on the job! He is fine juggling 2 pups with different temperament’s/ keeping them safe and happy!”

“Caitlynn was fantastic!! We will definitely request her again. We’ve had a hard time finding the right sitter for our rescue dogs who have some quirks, and we were so happy to find Caitlynn. She stayed with them in our home and kept up their routine perfectly. She sent us photos and videos every day so we knew exactly that was happening. It made our whole trip much more relaxing.”

I currently work full-time, Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5PM, but I love spending my free time caring for animals! I offer pet care before and after work, on weekends, and I’m happy to provide lunch-time drop-in visits for pets in the Waynesboro area. Dogs, cats, reptiles, and other small pets are all welcome!! 🐦🦎🐶🐱 I’d love the opportunity to help care for your furry, feathered, or scaly family members🖤🙌🏻 I believe every pet deserves to feel safe, loved, and comfortable, even when their family is away! I take the time to learn your pet’s routine, preferences, and personality so I can provide care that’s as familiar as possible😊 I’ll make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, exercise, enrichment, fresh food/water, and any medications or special care they may need. I’ll treat your home with the same respect I would my own and keep you updated with regular messages and photos, so you can relax knowing your furry, feathered, or scaly family member is in caring hands🥰🐾
“Great job by Karleigh. She was attentive and caring for our cat and dog and housesitting. She provided updates and ensured the house was well cared for. We would definitely use her services again.”
“Danielle was simply amazing. We received tons of photos and updates throughout the week. She quickly communicated when she had questions and was quick to implement any suggestions. Our girl is so shy and has some trouble on day one adjusting to new sitters- Danielle was so patient and kind with our girl and she was back to her silly, snuggly and fun self in no time! We hope to rebook in the future!”

About: I’ve had a dog my entire life except for a few very lonely months in 2020 after I lost the love of my life, Romey, the naughtiest lab with the best sense of humor. I grew up with labs (mostly ) but now have Gizmo, a labrodoodle , who will soon become BDE (best dog ever) if he can finally learn how to not jump like a kangaroo when he sees his dog friends. I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was young. I’d walk, feed and love on my neighbors and friends pets. I hope I will be the one you call and who you can trust with your furry BFF. Whether you have a long day at work or a weekend vacation, I’ll be there for you! I work part time on the weekends up on the mountain and have lots of time during the week to help out with your dog! I have a fenced in play area in my back yard and crates, dog beds and a designated “dog room” where your pet can relax in solitude or with Gizmo!

About: I have been owning pets since I was a child and I have loved animals in general ever since. I’ve cared for young animals to older animals I walk them and bathe them and I just love hanging out with animals! I go to school on Mondays and Tuesdays, and I have a job other days but I only work morning shifts and get off around 5:30–to 6:00 depending on the day! I unfortunately cannot have other animals in my house. I have 6 animals which include one dog and 5 cats, I have a fenced in yard where my dog hangs out to go potty and get some air and my cats have a lot of toys to play with! And I can do the same thing in your house with your fur children!

About: I’ve had pets my whole life. I love dogs and cats. I love animals and have no problem spending my free time taking care of and playing with some fur babies. I have a pug that I've had since she was 6 weeks old. I also have a cat who I took in after his old owner abandoned him. I currently work full time Monday-Friday 8-5pm in Charlottesville. I am more than happy to stop by after work if needed or if you want me to stay at your place I can take care of the babies before heading to work to make sure they are fed and worked. Can work with a lot of schedules. I do make and sell jewelry so there may be a few weekend days where my availability is limited due to already committed to a craft show In my house I try and take my dog out every 2 hours. In the summer my pug is sensitive to heat so we do short walks around our driveway. She is a bit spoiled and will not go outside in the rain so I do also have experience cleaning up puppy pads and encouraging their use. My cat is both indoors and outdoors so he goes to the bathroom outside but also have a litter box inside I clean every few days for him.

“Michael was great with our dogs (one very high energy)! He was responsive and thorough even though I had limited cell service on our trip away. We will definitely book Michael again! Thank you!”

“Tiffanie was wonderful, helping us out on short notice, taking wonderful care of our home and dogs, and sending great updates throughout. We will definitely be working with her again.”

“Tyler watched our crew of four in our home where they're all most comfortable. Everyone was in good spirits upon our return and our home was left very tidy. We'll definitely be reaching out for his help again!”

I understand the importance of family and would love to be your dogs next best friend! I have experience providing care for a variety of animals, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring health. I am familiar with cleaning and sanitizing animal housing and equipment, and can recognize signs of illness or distress. By feeding, walks, and playtime—with my personal habits like breakfast, exercise, and evening relaxation it helps to create a consistent, healthy routine. My successful routine with my 12 year old senior terrier includes early morning engagement to set a positive tone, scheduled midday breaks or mental stimulation to combat boredom, and structured evening bonding that eases stress. I have a 12 year old friendly Emotional support animal named Flower, who still loves to run and play. I also live close to the park, and have a crate if needed.

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong dog owner and animal lover who understands that pets are family. Caring for dogs has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog's unique personality, energy level, and routine. Whether your pup is playful and energetic, prefers leisurely walks, or simply enjoys companionship, I'll provide the loving, dependable care they deserve. I offer overnight pet sitting with personalized care tailored to your dog's individual needs. My services can include feeding and fresh water, potty breaks, exercise, playtime, administering medications, reinforcing basic training and good behaviors, brushing and basic grooming, cleaning up after pets, and, of course, plenty of affection and attention. I know how important consistency is for dogs, so I strive to maintain their regular schedule to help them feel comfortable and secure while you're away. Over the years, I've cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments—from energetic puppies to senior dogs requiring extra patience and medical support. My experience includes recognizing changes in behavior, managing different personalities, administering medications, maintaining routines, and providing calm, confident care in a variety of situations. Safety is always my top priority, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. I currently work 9 AM to 5 PM at a local law firm. Because of my schedule, I can spend quality time with your pet, primarily in the evenings and weekends and early mornings before work. Whether your dog needs playful companionship during the evening or loving care while you're traveling, I'll make sure they receive the attention, playtime, and affection they need to stay happy and comfortable. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind by providing dependable communication, photo updates, and compassionate, professional care every step of the way. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member and becoming someone you can count on whenever you need a helping hand. I currently work a traditional day job, but I am available to care for your pups throughout my free time including spending the night to make sure they are well loved and cared for. I prefer to care for the dog in your home so they are as comfortable with the daily routine as possible. I will feed them and love on them as if they were my own pet.
“Alexis was amazing with Brody and Marco while doing house sitting at my place. She was prompt and took the time needed for both of my dogs since they both have different needs. She gave the medications as instructed and gave my boy Marco the extra time he needs due to his past and getting comfortable with people. She even did extra things I didn’t ask her to do. Thank you so much Alexis and I will definitely be in touch again when I need someone!”

About: I’ve taken care of many animals in my life and I will continue to take care of animals for as long as I live. Getting to see dogs and cats every day has always been a joy but it’s been even better knowing I take care of people’s pets, knowing that people trust me with their furry friends is an honor. I’ve been in many different kinds of environments with dogs and cats outside of dog sitting. I have worked as a kennel assistant in two different vets, and realized that the veterinary field wasn’t the field I wanted to go down, I’ve worked in a doggy daycare where I go to play with dogs and see the looks on dogs faces when their owner picked up, I now work as a dog bather and have goals to become a dog groomer in the future. I will always have dog sitting open and available for years to come. Working with animals is so rewarding and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. I currently am not working any jobs at the moment but I am a college student. My hours are much more flexible than they were in high school. I have class on Mondays and Wednesdays, and I also have band practice every day from 6-7:30. My weekends are free unless I have a game on Saturday or if I plan to go home on a weekend. We have a double harness leash for both of our dogs and we take them on daily walks. We do live in a townhome so we don’t have a fence but we do take them out and if you have a fence I will definitely be sure to give your furry friend the exercise they need!

About: I have three dogs of myself and a rabbit! I’m previously from Arizona and I’ve had dogs for longer than I can remember. I have experience in taking care of elderly dogs (14+). Currently two of my dogs are with me in VA. I make sure to remove and sterilize shoes before entering the home. Just reach out and we can shot some time around and do a meet and great! Im a graduate student and my schedule is relatively free at the moment. Any type of changes to my schedule will be communicated. I can give more concrete times when given exact dates. I don't take pets in my home due to having two dogs myself. I make sure to sterilize shoes and hands before entering premises as a precaution for dogs with sensitive health.

About: I've been around pets my entire life and have always grown up in a home with multiple dogs and cats alike. Whenever I'm home, I'm the primary caregiver, helping with feeding, walks, exercise, playtime, grooming, and making sure they're happy and comfortable. I've also cared for friends' dogs and cats through drop-in visits, walks, and overnight stays while they were away. As a college athlete, I know how important consistency and responsibility are, and I'll care for your dog with the same attention and love I give my own. I'm currently a full-time student completing my coursework online while training as a collegiate swimmer and track athlete. My practice schedule varies throughout the year, but outside of practice I have a flexible schedule and can provide dependable care. I always communicate my availability clearly and only accept bookings that I know I can fully commit to. When I'm with your pet, they'll receive my full attention and plenty of exercise, affection, and care. At this time I provide care in my clients' homes, where pets are most comfortable and can stay in their normal routines. I understand how important consistency is for animals, so I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, walking routines, and any house rules you provide. I treat every home with respect, send regular updates and photos, and always make your pet's safety and well-being my top priority.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Avon on Rover is $32.66 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 460 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Avon. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Avon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Avon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Avon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Avon. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
