.Jeanette made it possible for me to get away for a badly needed vacation. She cared for my 2 cats and was very communicative, sending photos and updates and tried hard to play with my older, lazy cats. All of us were much less anxious when we got home knowing they were being fed and cared for and were not being abandoned.

About: I have been housesitting since I was fifteen, but didn’t really discover my superpower (the ability to pet dogs as long as want) until my brother and sister-in-law got their first corgi, Angus, in 2019. I was his primary care while they were at work until he was old enough to get his daycare shots, and we’ve since been bonded for life. He and his sister/niece, Bonnie, stay overnight with my parents and I once a week and we provide day-of and extended sitting for them regularly. I have extensive experience with elder dogs and a cat (friends Chili, Jack, Duke, Minerva, and Satu), providing medication in the form of tablets, inhaler, liquids, and eye creams. And I am well-versed in the ways of the every six feet squat! I have also kept an eye out for chronic injury in younger pups (friends Willow and Angus), helping with crate rest and accommodating a 30lb dog on steep stairs (boy, was I surprised when it was much easier to carry my 2 year old nephew up our stairs!). This often entails corralling with gates and being firm in my expectations. I have also been on the lookout of seizures, in the case of friend Harley Quinn. I have experience with mostly small to medium dogs: Corgis (Angus and Bonnie), French bulldogs (Willow and Winston), an Italian greyhound (River), a puggle (Satu), a chihuahua (Chili), and mixes meant to be as cute as possible (Maxine, Jack, and Duke). I have experience with larger dogs, as well (Harley Quinn, Uchi, Hershel, and Lola), but aim to take on dogs that weigh less than I do, for safety reasons. I am a distance learning PhD student, so my time is incredibly flexible. My university is in London, which means that my meetings are in the (early) morning, but I’m otherwise free! For me, safety means knowing the equipment is secure and having the pet close to me. When I’m with an animal, I prefer to have it in eyesight (or at least earshot), so that I can monitor the general going’s on, but also so that I can get to know each critter’s personality better. Routine is another way to maintain safety, as pets who know what’s coming next are less likely to act out. I seek to be as consistent as possible with your expectations, and will reliably contact you to ensure this. In my experience, this largely boils dow to meal times and whether or not they want to sleep on the bed (I tend to think it helps with separation anxiety, but I know dogs that would rather sleep in their crates or own beds).

About: I grew up with dogs and cats around me since I was a baby, and have always held a special place in my heart for them. When my parents, as well as family friends, would go out of town, I would frequently be responsible for feeding the animals, taking them on walks, or simply just keeping them company. My mom is a veteranrian so I have grown up with a great role model on how to treat animals in a safe and respectful way. I am home for 2 months before my study abroad trip, Dec. 21st-Febuary 10th. I have a completely free schedule until then. I am able to provide services Monday-Sunday. I have a large backyard that I can throw toys in and have 2 other dogs that can keep them company. One is a Leonberger and the other is a Jack Russell Terrier.

About: I don’t live in Aurora, but I split my time between Portland and Salem. If you live in the Portland area or Salem area or anywhere in between, I am happy to help you with your pet sitting needs. I grew up with cats, dogs, and chickens. My earliest pet care was at the age of 10 taking care of my neighbors dogs and cats while they were gone. In my adult life, I've had one cat and 4 dogs. My current dog is a Standard Poodle named Percy. He's a huge love! I know your pets are your heart, too. I strive to give your pets my best love and care while you're gone, just like I would want someone to give Percy! I currently work from home, so I can pop in or stay over easily. I would hope that your pet is able to walk with Percy, because he would hate to be left out of the fun. Each pet is unique and will be respected. Grouchy kitty under the bed?? I’ll say hello extra sweet and then leave them be. Tigger-like active puppy? Let’s throw some balls in the yard! The pet that thinks my lap is there’s?? Good snuggles and lots of sweet talk, for sure! Let’s chat and see what your pet needs.

I am so thankful for the care Amy provided my cats while I was away for work. I recently adopted a kitten and my adult cat is not yet a fan. Amy was great at adjusting to my cat’s ever changing attitudes. While the kitten was hiding from her, she gave plenty of attention to my sassy adult cat. Once the kitten warmed up, she gave her lots of cuddles. I’m so appreciative how well Amy navigated caring for my girls, I can’t say it enough.

About: HI there! I have been an animal lover and dog owner my whole life. I grew up on a farm in rural Oregon with 4 furry four- legged family members! I had a wonderful Rottweiler for 9 years and we enjoyed beautiful hikes, brisk nightly walks and serene moments at the coast. Now that he has passed, I have been the go-to for many of my friends and family when they are in need of hands-on care for their pets. I have been house/pet sitting for 6 years now and have decided to offer my services on Rover.com! I am experienced with all sizes of dogs and have a firm but gentle tone. I like to keep a tight schedule with feeding and potty time and walks are always at the top of the list!

About: Majority of my pet care experience comes from personal connection such as family members or friends as well as caring for my own pets for the last 7 years. I love taking pets on walks and giving them some time outdoors or playing with them in the backyard. I raised both my dog and cat from babies to now and have a real passion for making sure animals of all kinds know they are loved and cared for. My mornings and afternoons are very open. I work nights so I'm excited to be able to fit some pet care into my daily routines. I will always respect the needs and wishes of each pet owner and know that I'm being trusted to be in their personal space with essentially a family member with paws! I will follow any and all rules or requests from each pet parent.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and other pets since I was 13. I truly love animals—especially dogs—and enjoy spending time with them, whether it’s going for walks or just hanging out. I think of dogs as our friends, and there’s a good chance I’ve already said hi to yours on the street! I work as an afterschool teacher / site manager at an elementary school in Portland. My mornings are open, and I’d love to fill them by spending time with your pets and lending a hand where I can. Safety is always my #1 priority and I will make sure to take care of your pet and your home like they are my own.
