“Amanda has been so wonderful to our pets! She's come in clutch when we didn't know where else to turn and they've been so happy with her! We've used her services multiple times, she's so reliable.”

“Nina is an absolute gem! We booked her to stay at home with our 12 year old dog Julia for a relatively last minute 3-day trip. Nina was super communicative throughout the entire process, and sent us pictures of Julia every day. Julia was happy and super relaxed when we came home (almost like she had a little vacation of her own with Nina)! And Nina even took out the trash and washed the linens/towels she’d used before heading out (which was absolutely not an expectation that I had, but totally appreciated, and is just further proof of what a considerate person she is). I’d absolutely rebook Nina to take care of our old lady Julia in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to help care for their furry loved ones!”

“Kiera was amazing, truly above and beyond our best expectations. From here on out, she will be our first, second, and third contact for pet-sitting. All of our animals were well cared for, she provided updates, photos, and reached out when she had questions about our care instructions. We have struggled to find a great sitter since we moved here and are so happy to have finally found her. 10/10 - will use again and again.”

“Hannah was a wonderful sitter for our dogs and our home! This was our first time using Rover & she made us feel very confident in leaving our dogs & home for the weekend. Our girls were very well taken care of & will definitely use Hannah in the future!”

About: I love caring for my friends' pets when they're away for the weekend! I'm equally a dog and cat person and have experience looking after both. I'd love to give your pets the same care and attention while you're away! I have a really flexible schedule on the weekends, so I'm happy to work around your plans! I also enjoy getting some movement in the morning, so if your pup loves an early adventure, I'm more than happy to take them along. I can easily crate your animal if needed. I do not have a backyard area or balcony. Animals are free to roam around wherever they please.
“Gwen is the best! Our dogs love her. They are so joyful when she is with them. Gwen has dog sat for us twice and both times we were able to relax and enjoy our vacation knowing that our fur-babies were in good hands. We highly recommend Gwen. ❤️”

“We had a wonderful experience! Dorothy took such great care of our pets and we had so many sweet updates through out the day! We would definitely use her again!”

“Karly did a great job of watching our dogs and home over the weekend while we were out of town. Excellent communication and she was able to house/dog sit for us at the last minute. I would definitely recommend Karly and we will use her again in the future.”

“Ashley was absolutely wonderful. She communicated with me frequently and sent several photos of our pups and she was very detailed in every update. I would definitely recommend and use her again!”

“Caitlin was such a blessing! From the beginning of reaching out with the request, to house sitting my puppy S’mores, Caitlin was nothing but amazing! She communicated throughout the stay, which was so appreciated! Definitely will be requesting to have her watch S’mores again!”

“I will be rebooking with Mary for our dogs! She was prompt and reliable and quick to communicate. She also went above and beyond when my dog needed a scheduled vet appointment that was needed weeks after we made the booking. I am so grateful that she could accommodate my dog's need and was willing to be her escort to the doctor. Thank you so much! Sophie and Penny will see you soon!”

About: I have owned and cared for dogs since I was a kid, and now at age 45, you could definitely do worse for someone to take care of your pup. I am available for boarding, house sitting (dependent upon the situation), doggy daycare and/or walks. As a retiree, I have all of the time needed to properly care for your pet. I am currently a dog owner, so your pup will have company. I have a large, fenced in yard, with plenty of shade. I primarily keep my dog in the home, so your pup will have as much time in or outside as he/she prefers.
“Genesis was excellent! Great communication, kept us updated, and took great care of our pets. Our home was clean and well-maintained when we returned. Highly recommend!”

“Devin is absolutely amazing! She took such great care of our cat and our very special needs dog who requires a lot of extra work on a daily basis. We get a ton of anxiety leaving our girl but we felt so at ease knowing she was getting the care she needs while we were away for a few days. Highly highly recommend :)”

About: I have taken care of my fair share of animals over the past decade: cats, dogs, birds, fish, reptiles, you name it! I myself have 3 cats and understand their body language, needs, and quirks. I also have an iron stomach and nothing pet-wise can phase me. I also have a firm belief in keeping pet owners up to date with photos and texts after every visit. I work a very consistent 9:30-6:30 job with a guaranteed 1 hour break every day. This means I can make consistent visits between 8-9am, 12-1p, and 6:30-10pm each day. Weekends are *usually* free for at least 2 checks a day. My schedule rarely changes and that lets me plan for consistency! With 3 cats, I have long-since memorized what plants and foods are toxic as well as feline CPR and how to recognize signs of distress and pain in cats. I myself aim for daily litter cleanings, consistent feedings, and plenty of active play and love for my cats and any others I'm entrusted with. I have nursed several kittens back to health and have fostered as well. As far as dogs grow- they're the animals I grew up with 4 chihuhuas, a Border Collie, and a variety of loveable mutts through my childhood. I also got my start as a pet sitter walking dogs and doing overnight stays at homes to keep anxious pups company.

“Grace cared for our 2 dogs and cat while we were away for a long weekend. During our meet and greet, Grace loved on our dogs and we were confident she would do a great job caring for them. We came back to an orderly house and happy animals!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Augusta
Mikiyah was great. She was very attentive to my pups. My boxer is usually very anxious when I leave so much so that he won’t eat, but we did not have that problem at all while he was with Mikiyah. My Frenchie got lots of cuddle time. Mikiyah sent lots of pictures and updates and I would 100% book her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Augusta walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Augusta maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Augusta choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Augusta. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
