“Amanda was absolutely awesome! This was the best stay for our cat Baxter who has a chronic health condition. Amanda did a great job giving him his medication, watching for any signs of health changes and giving great updates. She sent great pictures and stayed with him overnight to make sure his routine wasn’t disrupted. Highly recommend.”
“Finding someone to care for our pets and home was genuinely was biggest concern prior to traveling. Gwen was a wonderful sitter and completely took my worries aways. Her attention to detail and flexibility calmed my demanding pets while we were away. I highly recommend Gwen to anyone looking for someone reliable that will ensure your fur babies are cared for, loved and safe. Thank you Gwen!”

“Nina is an absolute gem! We booked her to stay at home with our 12 year old dog Julia for a relatively last minute 3-day trip. Nina was super communicative throughout the entire process, and sent us pictures of Julia every day. Julia was happy and super relaxed when we came home (almost like she had a little vacation of her own with Nina)! And Nina even took out the trash and washed the linens/towels she’d used before heading out (which was absolutely not an expectation that I had, but totally appreciated, and is just further proof of what a considerate person she is). I’d absolutely rebook Nina to take care of our old lady Julia in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to help care for their furry loved ones!”

“Karly was awesome! She took care of my two big fur babies. Catering to them as I would! She even took one to the emergency vet and spent hours waiting to be seen due to it being the weekend. She took care of the pups as well as my house. I will definitely call on her again.”

“Ashley took such good care of my 3 babies!!! She sent plenty of pictures and videos which was so comforting and played with them more than we even do! We have one shy dog who warmed right up to her. Highly recommend!!!”

“This is the second time Toni has watched Zelda and housesat and I couldn't be more pleased! She sent plenty of updates and treated Zelda like her own dog. I know Zelda will be excited for the next time we book Toni!”

“Caleb was so kind and thorough. He kept everything clean, made sure my pup got his pills, and gave us plenty of updates. I have a stranger-shy pup, and Caleb worked with us to make it all work out wonderfully. I will definitely be using him again.”

“Our dog seemed happy and well cared for when we got home. During our trip ants were attracted to our dogs food. Patrick did well in communicating and handling the problem. He was also helpful when we had a problem with the app. He sent pictures updating us on how our dog was doing. Having Patrick stay at our house with our dog was much better than boarding him. Would use Patrick again in the future.”

About: I have had dogs since 2013. I had three, I currently have two. One of them had epilepsy, this gave me experience with seizures and administering medicine. I also worked at a doggy day care for 1 year, there I cared for large groups of dogs. We fed them, changed out water 4-5 times a day, picked up after them and played with them. I'm knowledgeable about dog behavior and how to avoid situations that would be harmful. I know to test the pavement heat before a walk on hot days. I'm currently seeking steady employment but am wanting to make this my steady job. I'm available during the week from six am to 5 pm I'm currently unable to pet sit in my home. I'm more than happy to pet sit in the dogs/cats home that makes the pets more comfortable as well since it's not a strange house with strange smells. I'm more than happy to drop in or stay for awhile. I enjoy taking walks and it's always good to have a friend (your pet) with me.
About: I have taken care of my fair share of animals over the past decade: cats, dogs, birds, fish, reptiles, you name it! I myself have 3 cats and understand their body language, needs, and quirks. I also have an iron stomach and nothing pet-wise can phase me. I also have a firm belief in keeping pet owners up to date with photos and texts after every visit. I work a very consistent 9:30-6:30 job with a guaranteed 1 hour break every day. This means I can make consistent visits between 8-9am, 12-1p, and 6:30-10pm each day. Weekends are *usually* free for at least 2 checks a day. My schedule rarely changes and that lets me plan for consistency! With 3 cats, I have long-since memorized what plants and foods are toxic as well as feline CPR and how to recognize signs of distress and pain in cats. I myself aim for daily litter cleanings, consistent feedings, and plenty of active play and love for my cats and any others I'm entrusted with. I have nursed several kittens back to health and have fostered as well. As far as dogs grow- they're the animals I grew up with 4 chihuhuas, a Border Collie, and a variety of loveable mutts through my childhood. I also got my start as a pet sitter walking dogs and doing overnight stays at homes to keep anxious pups company.
About: I have owned and cared for dogs since I was a kid, and now at age 45, you could definitely do worse for someone to take care of your pup. I am available for boarding, house sitting (dependent upon the situation), doggy daycare and/or walks. As a retiree, I have all of the time needed to properly care for your pet. I am currently a dog owner, so your pup will have company. I have a large, fenced in yard, with plenty of shade. I primarily keep my dog in the home, so your pup will have as much time in or outside as he/she prefers.
“Jen was awesome!! She house sat for 5 days and followed the schedule I left for my two fur babies. Both dogs are large dogs and she walked them every day without hesitation! They were happy and very well taken care of. I was able to relax and not worry because Jen would send text and pictures daily letting me know what was going on. I will definitely be using her again. Thanks Jen!”

“My doggies love Devin and we do too. I’ve been needing to travel more frequently due to family emergencies and Devin is our go-to house sitter. She does a great job updating us on what’s going on at home, and it helps ease my concerns about my dogs. She takes great care of them, and I can’t recommend her enough. And I’m a rover sitter too!”
“Stacey is always the best at taking care of our Buddy and Heidi! She can be counted on to not only give them extra love while we are gone but also take great care of our home. We love that she stays in touch with us and always sends us pictures of our babies.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Beech Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Beech Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Beech Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Beech Island. On Rover:

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
