“Haley is our go-to pet sitter, and she always does an amazing job! This time was no exception she came by to check on our cat, and as always, she was kind, professional, and communicative. She has checked in on our kitty once before now, and we trust her completely to take great care of our fur baby. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for reliable and caring pet care!”
“Jemma did a wonderful job checking in on our pup. Very friendly, timely and caring! Definitely recommend her taking care of pets. We plan to get her to help again in the future. Thanks Jemma!! 💕”

“Abby was absolutely fantastic! She was prompt with every check in and sent photos. She made sure our fur babies were well taken care of while we were gone. Highly recommend Abby!!!”

About: Hi! My name is Hannah, and I’m a dependable, caring animal lover with experience caring for dogs of various breeds and personalities. Along with regularly dog sitting for family, I also work as a nanny, so being responsible, attentive, and following routines is already a big part of my daily life. I currently specialize in caring for small to medium-sized dogs and enjoy providing a safe, calm, and loving environment while their owners are away. Whether your dog needs walks, playtime, feeding, potty breaks, medication reminders, or simply companionship, I’m happy to help. I’m comfortable with: • Small and medium-sized dogs • Multiple pets at once • Following feeding and medication schedules • Overnight stays • Drop-in visits • Walks and playtime • Providing regular photo and video updates I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I’ll treat your dog with the same patience, kindness, and attention that I would want for my own pets. My goal is to make sure both you and your dog feel comfortable, confident, and cared for throughout the entire experience. I’m naturally calm, detail-oriented, and dependable, and I enjoy getting to know each dog’s unique personality and routine. I currently have flexible availability, especially on Mondays and Fridays, and I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I currently work as a nanny part-time during the week, which gives me flexibility to provide pet care before and after work as well as on Mondays, Fridays, evenings, and weekends. I am available for drop-in visits, dog walks, and house sitting, and I always do my best to accommodate each pet’s normal routine. I understand how important consistency is for pets and will make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and care while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow all feeding schedules, medication instructions, walking routines, and any special care requests provided by owners. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality and needs to help them feel comfortable and secure. I also provide regular photo and video updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I treat every home and pet with the same respect and care I would expect for my own.
“Thank you so much for stepping in on short notice! I felt confident after talking with you that everything was going to be alright since we were out of state with very little time to vet our dog sitter! Thank you!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Riley! This was my first time using this service and I was really nervous leaving my dog with someone I didn’t know. Riley assured me that she would treat my dog like he was her own, and she did just that. In every picture she sent, he was happy and satisfied. She was very communicative, too. 100/10 recommend her!!!”

“Alivia has been absolutely lovely. I know my girl is well cared for and so happy/ less anxious when I get home. Having her come by when I am stuck on a long shift is such a gift.”

“Meghan has always treated my sweet Lucy like she was her own. I especially like how she leaves me a note telling me how Lucy was and who all she met on their walks. It’s obvious how much she loves animals.”

About: Experienced dog and cat whisperer of 10+ years. Brand new to the DMV from Nashville and looking for new fur babies to call friends I've been trusted for walks, administering medicine, daycare pickups and more. My care for your pet comes with a little extra sparkle through playing, snuggling up, and sending magical moments via photo or video so you don't miss out on their loving while you're away! Because I have a career dependent on gigs and rehearsal times. My days are typically wide open. Unless I am required for a daytime rehearsal, most weekdays I can be available anywhere ranging from 6am-5pm (Weekends vary from time to time.) I ensure trust by establishing very clear lines of communication and asking lots of questions. I always want to be doubly sure of what I am being asked. I send text updates to let my clients know their pets are safe and secure or whenever anything out of the ordinary happens. Typically a key is left for me to easily access the owners home which allows me to keep it in a safe space without taking it with me and losing it. Sometimes when I do pick-ups and drop offs from daycare I make sure doors in the home are closed so dogs don't run through rooms they aren't supposed to be in. I make sure food and water bowls are cleaned and there are no potentially dangerous objects around by tidying up some if necessary.
About: I myself have a spunky 3 yr old border collie/shepherd mix. We have worked with a trainer to channel her high energy drive. Because of this, I have learned ways to overcome a lot of challenges dog owners face & how to build healthy bonds. With me, you wouldn’t be getting just a regular walk or play! We will learn cool things together & have so much fun while doing it 😎 In addition to my own current fur baby, I’ve owned two other pups as well as fostered back home in WI. I dog sit for friends, families, and neighbors. I treat your pups just as my own 🐶 I work M-F at home and have a very flexible work schedule as well as being completely free on weekends! I am able to do drop by visits and walks just about anytime you are needing! The same trust and care that my own receives is exactly what yours will too! I take great pride in ensuring all pups & homes are safe in my care.
“Madison exceeded all expectations! Our regular pet sitter had an unexpected emergency right before we left on a two week trip, the longest we’ve ever been away from our two fur babies. Needless to say we were devastated and left scrambling to find a reliable and trustworthy substitution. Madison did a meet and greet beforehand to explain her qualifications, answered any questions we had, and made sure to thoroughly understand the expectations of what we needed done to ensure peace of mind for us. She provided extensive details for us everyday and sent cute pictures of our animals so we could get a glimpse of how they were faring while we were away. She really takes the time to get to know the animals and it is reflected in her outstanding work ethic how much she truly cares. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone needing a sitter. Thank you Madison for providing excellent care for our babies, you made our vacation that much more enjoyable knowing there was once less thing to worry about back home!”

About: I am 24 years old and I have had all kinds of pets ranging from Rabbits and fish, lizards and lobsters, cats and dogs, lions tigers and bears...well...maybe not those last three! But I have cared for animals my entire life and I am excited to make a career out of it! I am ecstatic to help you establish and maintain and wonderful environment for the furry members of your family! Pet care is a full-time job for me! I can be available five-days a week, until somewhat late into the evening, and my schedule is somewhat flexible when it comes to spending EXTRA time getting fuzzy cuddles ;) I allow pets to decide what we do. If they'd rather lay down and take a nap, I can step back and let them be independent, but if they get the zoomies I am eager to let them get that energy out. I also enjoy using training time as a means of giving and receiving pet attention, making basic training fun and exciting for the pet.
About: I have two tiny shorthairs and two eighty five pound labradoodles in my life, so I've got range. To quote a very wise man, "No job is too big; no pup is too small!" I have an extremely flexible schedule. I can make almost anything work. I work most nights from 6:30ish to around 10:00 or 11:00. It would be no problem at all to achieve your needs. I can do whatever is needed to make sure your babies feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I play with them to make sure they get exercise and socialization. I make sure their personal spaces are clean (litter boxes, beds, kennels, etc.). I make sure they don't have any food insecurities, and I make sure they know that someone is there for them when their usual human is gone.
About: I've taken care of both cats and dogs since I was 9. Neighbors have relied on me to care for their cat while away for work. Friends have called on me to feed, walk and care for their dog on weekends. And I have worked professionally with dogs, cats and goats since 2017, having also been entrusted with bathing them and giving necessary medication. I'm currently working full time which gives me plenty of time to play with your pups or kitties in the evenings or weekends. I am free most weekdays after 6:30pm and am flexible on weekends. I care for my pets by having adequate food and water always available. I do crate dogs if needed, but follow the lead of the owner. I try to keep a clean space and give lots of love to all pets involved.
About: Ever since I was little, I loved looking after animals big or small. I was the neighborhood kid to call if there was a need for pet care. I started at 10 doing as little as picking up poo from yards to growing up and staying over if the owner was out of town! I have experience with dogs, cats and yes fish at almost every stage of life. I have a long list of clients who would recommend me to look after your furry friend!! I am a part time employee at the moment so I have flexibility in my hours! Depending on the service needed I can make it work along with my schedule. I will be a local college student starting up in August but will continue to have an open schedule! I have a dog of my own and she is one of my top priority’s! When I stay at a clients home I ensure their furry friends have plenty of play and outdoor time. Walks are a non negotiable with my dog so I am very good with taking clients dogs out multiple times a day! Cats have the same priority, I ensure they have play time if that is up their alley or just a couch buddy! Every animal is different so I adjust accordingly!!
About: I have helped train dogs for friends, family and neighbors! Love getting to know other peoples doggies and helping them get their energy out! Can’t wait to meet your puppers! All of my work is freelance work so I would love to fit your pet into my schedule! I book for walks or drop in visits! Safety is my number one priority! When doing drop in visits I make sure your pet is safe and happy! During walks I always use a good grip on the leash and make sure your pet is safe at all times!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Athendale
Breanna was amazing! She not only took care of our cat while we were on vacation, she was very considerate in bringing in our mail and dripping our faucets during the ice storms. I don't know what we would have done without her. I'll definitely book with her again!

Carla is a gem! She took such good care of our 2 outdoor rescue cats while we were gone & always sent us pics & updates while she was there with them. If you want someone who truly loves animals & not only feeds & waters them, but showers them with love & affection, then Carla is your gal. Peace of mind knowing our fur babies are as well taken care of when we're gone as when we're home, is huge for us, so we'll definitely be using Carla's services again 😊

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Athendale. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
