“Trina has been amazing with Nugget who is NOT a fan of walking. She has been resourceful to ensure he gets the most out of his walks. She is on time, communicative and provides a thorough report after each walk.”

“English has been amazing since day 1. Such a beautiful spirit. English is very attentive and sure to meet whatever your fur babies needs are. She is very responsive should you have any questions and keeps you updated at all times. And has been super flexible. Izzy has found her a new best friend 🧡. I couldn't be happier”

“Sereniti was great caring for my super anxious, highly energetic huskies! Walking them is not easy, so I really appreciate that she was willing to take them out for a stroll! Would definitely recommend!”

About: I've been in veterinary medicine for 12 years. I am comfortable around all pets, no matter the breed or personality. I have two giant breed diggitys and I understand how hard it is to find safe care for your fur babies. We live in a noise free environment , zero cars, zero sirens etc. I am fear free certified and can handle nervous nellies and their needs very well. I'm currently working remotely and homeschool. The house is full of good energy. Since we have children and other pets/animals we are up as early as 5am in the morning and last walks are around 8p. If it is a weekend and we are staying up later in the night than walks could be as late as 10pm. It does depend on the pet also. My dogs are pet friendly however because of their size some other dogs don't take to them. My personal dogs have their own room and crate. We have multiple free spaces for up to 10 dogs small and or 5 dogs small/medium large. We live on 73 acres with 4 hiking trails. The dogs and ducks definitely get their exercise. If you have a senior pet or a pet that does better away from children or other pets, we can accommodate that as well. I am currently working remotely with some days in clinic. Between myself and my nephew someone is always home. We also homeschool so the house is always active. We have tons of space so if your pet doesn't do well with "active" we can accommodate that as well. With all the land and space we can easily go on 4-5 mile scenic walks. We can also let dogs who have name recall roam free (supervised). We live on 73 acres, very secluded. Our noise level is zero. There aren't cars driving by, sirens etc. We have a few hiking trails that have been cleared. We also have a room specific for dog sitting in our home. We can make it feel like home or have the approach of a normal boarder. We do ask that all pets are at minimum rabies vaccinated. This is the only vaccine legally required in the state of Maryland. We also ask that for boarding , you provide a favorite toy and t-shirt to help minimize anxiety and stress. We have calming plug ins in certain areas of the house to help decrease anxiety as well.

“Corissa is amazing! She made sure Bentley was happy and was super personable. She went out of her way to have a meeting with me before we booked it and made Bentleys safety a top priority.”
“Caryn was so professional and kind. Our dog is very stubborn and strong, and she handled him so well. She also did walks during one of the coldest weeks of the year without compliant. I am so lucky to have her take care of our Buddy. Highly recommend!”

Having a young baby at home, I understand the importance of gentle, calm interactions, and I ensure every pet feels secure, happy, and well cared-for.
“Steven is fantastic. I had a family emergency and the person who normally walked Tully was unavailable. Contacted Steve and he came right away for a meet and greet. My dog is a rescue so he doesn’t always do well with strangers but he was so happy with Steve right away. Steve asked if he could take Tully on a short introductory walk to make sure they were a good match which made me much more comfortable. Definitely would recommend Steve! Amazing with both families and fur babies!”

About: I have experience having my own puppy when me and my husband adopted our German shepherd was at 11 weeks old. He is now 8 months old and 85 lbs along with my neighbors dog that is a 100+ lbs cane corso that’s 10 months old. I have experience with big dogs and other sizes of dogs with temperaments. I am accustomed to walking 6-8 dogs a day regardless of their energy and I love it. I am more than open for boarding as I have had a cane corso and a German in one household with no issues along with my husband helping me to make it fun. I work in childcare and when I get off work I have more than enough time to walk people’s dogs. I love walking dogs so much I tend to lose track of time and get home late. I have a lot of patience taking care of my dog and other people’s dog and follow the owners instructions accordingly. I make sure to ask for consent before making any decisions and ask questions ahead of time in case there is any unforeseen circumstances. I keep open communication with the owners as well as keeping them up to date of how their dogs are doing. My husband and I love taking turns caring for our dog as we play fetch and walk to mix things up to keep them stimulated.
“I appreciate Lillian for being reliable for taking care of my rover dog. She arrived on time to walk Edie on a holiday evening, followed instructions for dog care, took a couple of photos, and issued a rover report on Edie’s activities. I would recommend her service and we rebook her when needed.”

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Ashbox. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ashbox. On Rover:
- 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
